I thought I had lost precious files
I thought I had lost all of my treasured photos on a USB that malfunctioned, until they got most of the files off of the USB. Though some of the files had some strange marks in them, most of them look great. I feel very blessed! I would recommend this company. Customer service was also excellent to work with.

A hard drive failed in one of my…
A hard drive failed in one of my development computers for work. The drive had virtual machines that I needed recovery. DataTech was able to assess the situation quickly and let me know what they could do. They recovered the VMs enough to where they ran and I could get the critical files I needed. There were no surprises in the process or cost. Excellent work by DataTech.

Everyone at Data Tech were excellent at helping me, My server crashed with 6
hard drives. The server had raid on it and Brandon was able to fix the data and
save it onto an external hard drive. He went over the data with me before I picked up the hard drives and was available when I had a question about locating the data once I was back in the office.
I would definitely recommend these guys and use them again in the future.

A very expensive service that I regret from start to finish.
When I first contacted Data Tech for a damaged external drive I was told it would take less than a week to get my files back. I spoke to 2 different people that said this. It wasn't true. It took a week for them to confirm my job and let me know IF they could retrieve files. At that time they let me know that it would cost over $2000 to retrieve the files. I was in a hard spot so I reluctantly agreed - despite initially being told on the phone it would cost around $1200.
It took a while to get parts in due to poor chain supply, so that initial week turned into a month. Finally they contacted me and we reviewed the drive remotely to see if everything was there. It was! I paid the money and received my drive. Indeed all the files were there but more than half of them were damaged an unusable. They mentioned that there may be damaged files BUT never said it would be more than 1/2.
I found the service VERY MISLEADING from start to finish. And basically in the end I paid for absolutely nothing I can use.

I do regret that your experience with us was anything short of satisfactory. There are many variables in data recovery services that we must account for in any given job. It is our goal in our initial evaluation to identify the variables that are causing problems for the drive, to therefore determine an accurate estimate for the job, regarding both time and costs involved. Prior to evaluating the equipment, our staff uses their experience and knowledge to offer some guidance and very loose estimated pricing. The symptoms described in your situation do very often result in easier/faster recoveries, and so we did express some optimism during the initial inquiries - it's nearly impossible to rule out more severe issues over the phone, but the odds felt to be in your favor. Unfortunately, our initial hopes were not accurate, and upon the initial evaluation, we did find that the drive was beginning to mechanically fail, and thus did require a higher level of service to recover.
The latter half of your review, I am working with the case manager that worked with you, to ensure that the data is being reviewed in clearer detail. Our goal at this phase of the project is to ensure that the data that is critical to you has been successfully recovered. Here at Datatech Labs, we only charge for successful recovery of your data - however, as we are less familiar with your equipment setup than yourself, we do rely on your guidance to know if we have success in a rough project like this one. I do regret if there was any miscommunication during the review of your data, and steps are being taken to improve this process.

Flash drive crashed
I'd had a flash drive with significant data, fail. The computer repair place I typically go, couldn't retrieve the data but referred me to Data Tech. I was so relieved when Data Tech was able to recover everything from my flash drive! I hope to never need them again, but it's good to know they're there...just in case.

External Hard Drive Issues.
My external hard drive with my Light Room ap and photos suddenly went bad. I thought all was lost. I contacted a friend who told me about Data Recovery. I gave my broken HD to Data R and they recovered all of my lost photos. Alex was especially helpful throughout. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend Data Recovery.

The customer service was excellent
The customer service was excellent. They were able to recover almost all my data on the back up drive, which was unexpected. They showed me the data on a Zoom call before accepting the recovery to see what was all recovered, once verified it was shipped to my house, which I received in a couple days.
