Jimdo, the incompetent internet service provider


Since September 2025, our site has been blocked by Jimdo due to accounting errors. We paid twice, and Jimdo demonstrably transferred the money back immediately both times. At the same time, Jimdo handed the matter over to a debt collection agency, which resulted in additional collection costs! No problem-solving communication was possible. On 4 December 2025, I paid the entire bill to the debt collection agency again, including the collection fees. Finally, the money was no longer transferred back! I have a confirmation of receipt of payment from the debt collection agency! I then contacted Jimdo Support several times by email! Their response: I should be patient, someone will get back to me! I also tried via Instagram Messenger! On 5 January 2025, I finally received the redeeming email: "Your site has been activated!"

Today is 6 January: the site is still blocked! Now I check my emails. There's an email from Jimdo! I should rate Jimdo on Trustpilot! I am doing so here!

My conclusion: stay away from Jimdo! You cannot put your business in their hands! They have no control over their business, from accounting to support! I have never experienced anything so damaging to business!

We don't need to hide! It's the website klaus-ohlmann-adventures.com.

The website of the best sailing and electric flight pilot Klaus Ohlmann. Now in spring, several world record flights are coming up with our new electric aircraft, and I am completely hindered in my press work and sponsor communication thanks to the Jimdo team! They've let us down!

Conclusion: We will warn our fans worldwide about this incompetent internet service provider. We will hand the matter over to our solicitor and sue Jimdo for damage to our business.

If the site should still appear unavailable for you, it may help to clear the browser cache and then reload the page. In some cases, outdated data stored in the browser can cause the site to appear blocked even though it is already live.

I am sorry that this did not happen earlier and that the communication along the way did not meet your expectations. That is not the experience we want you to have, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and stress this has caused.

Very cheap at the begining

Very cheap at the begining, then prices rise up and up. 140€ per year for a simple web site. And you to pay in advance if not they persue you.

More disappoint

I have been a long-term customer who has renewed my contract with your company for many consecutive years. In the past, your response time was fast and your support team was able to solve problems efficiently and professionally. However, this year the quality of your service has dropped significantly. Getting assistance has become extremely difficult, and in the end, I received no real solution at all.

What is even more disappointing is that the issue I am facing now is exactly the same problem that your team was able to resolve in previous years. Yet this time, I was told that it cannot be done. This is unacceptable and has caused me great frustration and disappointment. Frankly, I deeply regret my decision to renew my website contract with your company.

Why was my domain (URL) changed without my permission?

I have been using Jimdo's paid Creator Plan in Japan for 14 years, but my domain was changed to another domain without my permission for several days.To my surprise, four days after I submitted a support inquiry, the Japanese Creator Plan support “U “sent me a suspicious email on November 11, 2025, stating: “I understand that you already own the ‘×××org’ domain but do not plan to use it, and wish to add a different domain instead. Is that correct?” Four days later, I discovered that my .org domain had been changed to jimdowebcom without my knowledge...Upon checking my records, I found that between October 7, 2025, at 3:59:56 JST and November 15, 2025, at 22:07, my domain "×××org" had been changed to another domain, jimdowebcom/, without my authorization.When I asked Support U about it why you did do such a thing without my permission, Support U replied:“After checking our internal system records, we found no evidence that Jimdo changed your custom domain.

There was also no record of such a change operation in the system history. Therefore, this was not an incident caused by our company's operation or error. Our investigation also found no record of any internal operation.”Support “U" responded, then I inquired with another support agent “S", asking her to share the log data from that system if she had examined it. Support agent S adopted a high-handed attitude, stating, “Jimdo does not record logs of logins to the admin panel or edited logs, so we cannot provide the logs you requested.” This was contradictory, as support U had stated they had examined the system, yet S claimed they couldn't provide the logs because they weren't recorded. Ultimately, in the response from Jimdo Germany stated that since I switched my domains and similar issues weren't occurring globally, the possibility of an automatic system switch was low.

Despite the potential for it to be their own system error, Jimdo held the system data from the period when the error occurred but provided no evidence of that data. Instead, they adopted an overbearing attitude, acting as if I were solely at fault.I suddenly discovered my domain had been changed without my knowledge for several days or more days, which made me distrustful of the Jimdo system. I simply wanted to know the facts. However, the current Jimdo has responded to me, a paying customer of their Creator Plan for 14 years, in an incredibly high-handed manner, acting as if I had changed it myself. In Japan, there are AI Builder plans besides the Creator Plan. My concern was that if Support U couldn't perform the operation, perhaps Jimdo's AI had changed it without my permission. or Jimdo's system error occurred. I wanted to know the facts to dispel that worry.Jimdo, despite causing a system error that arbitrarily changed my domain, acted as if I had changed it myself. After charging me the annual fee for 14 years of paid membership, two support staff adopted an overbearing attitude. It seems the company has reached a terminal state, completely incapable of honest corporate conduct.

Regarding the above matter, in order to conduct a proper investigation, I exchanged multiple communications with your company's Japanese Jimdo support team with M.U and J.S. from November 15 to November 28, 2025. They provided me with their final response at the following date and time. Given that I provided such clear information, wouldn't it be easy for your two Japanese support team members to identify me directly by confirming with them?

From Support Team J.S. "According to the response from the German developer, the switch occurs when the customer changes it via the admin panel. Additionally, since there are no similar occurrences globally, the possibility of an automatic system switch is also low.
Furthermore, my concern is that there is a discrepancy between Richard's response and the responses from the Japanese support team, which feels contradictory. You mentioned me contacting your Japanese support team again, but how exactly should I proceed with contacting your support team when they only respond me by saying" I switched my domain myself", despite your client (your user me) asking about my domain being switched without my authorization?? I sincerely hope you will conduct a thorough investigation and provide a clear and transparent response.

Jimdo does not change customer domains without authorization. When domain settings change, it is most commonly due to a plan expiring, the domain being managed externally, or changes to DNS/forwarding settings.
Additionally, our Companion AI does not have access to domains or account settings and cannot perform any such operations.

We genuinely want to review what happened in your case and give you a clear, transparent answer. Well it gets worse - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Again, I so wish I could give no stars or even minus stars. So no contact from Jimdo's collection agency PAIR Finance (kundenservice at pairfinance.de) to my email. A sop of a response from Jimdo in response to my first Trust Pilot review on them and another nasty email from Jimdo. They are certainly covering themselves in glory. Interesting model being used by them, limit the damage on the trust pilot reviews by answering them but do not reply to customers direct emails or support tickets. Germans are known for the efficiency, but it is clearly lacking at Jimdo.

It took you pretty long (over 4 days)…

It took you pretty long (over 4 days) to reply eventhough I pay for a subscription that should give me fast customer support. The support came and was fine, but then you start harassing me with emails about how you did. Well, thats pretty annoying, so no, i did not enjoy the service.
