Destination anywhere other than triumph Dorset.
If you are considering purchasing a bike from Destination triumph Dorset, I would strongly recommend that you go elsewhere.
After making an inquiry about one of their bikes, i was told that they would send me a personalised video of the bike.
This did not happen, so after another phone call they apologised and said that they would send the video straight away.
Several hours later they sent me a very poor quality video of the bike and stated that they would phone me within half an hour of sending the video to discuss the bike.
This did not happen.
After yet another phone call I managed to speak to one of the sales team who appeared to have little to no knowledge of the bike.
Against my better judgement I agreed to leave a deposit on the bike and requested another video of the bike in the daylight.
This did not happen.
After another phone call and several emails, i started to think that maybe something was wrong.
I was right, two days later they phoned me to say that there had been a admin error and that they had already taken a deposit on the bike 🤬.
I very much hope that this is a one off, but I’m betting it’s not sadly.
I wouldn’t buy a cup of coffee from them.
Extremely disappointed
Yesterday, I decided to visit DT in Christchurch for the first time as the dealership had been mentioned by friends in conversation. I rode my aging 2003 955i Sprint RS and wore full biking gear. I have owned the bike for over 15 years and have for some time been considering a change. My Sprint RS has proved to be a phenomenally well put together bike which I reluctantly bought all those years ago from a mate who was in financial difficulties. Having been a Honda/Yamaha fan for many years, I was not keen on owning a Triumph as I (wrongly) considered them inferior, but the fact that I have enjoyed the bike for so long, is testament to the brand and I now consider myself to be a loyal fan and convert.
Being a Monday, the customer levels were appreciably low, but the numerous staff members all seemed occupied with their various tasks. One staff member early on wished me good morning, but didn’t attempt to engage with me further.
I strolled around the showroom and forecourt for at least 25 minutes. For some considerable part of that time I was poring over a 1200 Speed Triple RR which would really be my choice replacement for the RS. What an exquisite machine. I was itching to sit on it and take it for a ride, but as I was only assuming it was a demonstrator, it didn’t feel free to throw my leg over something without an invite!
Anyway, to summarise, I was incredibly disappointed with my visit. Apart from the single member of staff wishing me good morning, I was completely ignored by all staff at DT and additionally, the KTM showroom staff next door.
I consider myself to be a young, fit 63 year old. I am retired and have money and time to spare. If DT, (and KTM next door) can afford to totally ignore an obvious dressed biker and Triumph owner on a quiet Monday morning, then what hope is there?
I just feel sorry for the marvellous Triumph brand who are relying on sales staff such as these for their existence. Granted, no-one wants an over-zealous salesperson hanging on their every word, but 25 minutes of wandering around, just to be allowed to ride off without any approach whatsoever, in my view is extremely poor…
Useless.
I can't understand how Destination makes any money. Couple of years back I visited Washington branch to enquire about a PX, absolutely no follow up. Two days ago I contacted Solent branch with a view to buy a brand new bike. Still waiting, no follow-up. I wouldn't buy from them if they were the last Triumph dealer on the planet.
No response
I needed to return a T-shirt I ordered as it was the wrong size 4 emails later no response so if you do order make it’s correct.

Horrific new bike buying experience
My wife and I have had a horrific experience buying a brand new Scrambler 400 from Destination Triumph Washington and would advise others to avoid them.
We already had orders placed for Scrambler 400s with another (much better!) dealer but saw an advert for an immediately available cancelled order (having dealt with this dealer now, I can imagine why the original order was cancelled.) My wife phoned, spoke to Abby, paid a £500 deposit and accepted the offer of free delivery. Abby offered to value two bikes we are selling for part exchange figures and the details were sent over immediately. The order form (complete with several minor error) arrived the same day but no acknowledgment of the bike details sent over for valuation. We chased the following day but were unable to get through. A couple of days later we chased again and received valuation figures and decided to buy the bike without part exchanging anything.
On the day of delivery, having had no further contact, Abby was contacted again to make arrangements for paying the balance on the bike. At this stage, Abby lied to my wife saying the policy on bike payments had been changed the day before (I.e. a few days after placing our order) and card payments over £500 could not be accepted over the phone; card payments up to (but not over £2,000) had to be made in person in store and that if we wanted the bike, we would have to pay with a bank transfer. I spoke to Martyn (sales manager) who said the policy had not been changed, that Abby should have known this and should not have lied to us, and he admitted that being a new member of staff it was clear she needed further training. Despite this, he offered nothing else and stuck to this policy above - despite admitting that physically/legally they could take the full payment on card but that it was just a company policy to not do so.
Having no choice (and indeed needing the bike since we had now cancelled our original order) we paid by bank transfer and had the bike delivered. On delivery I found Abby’s manner extremely offensive and rude - whilst she did apologise, she did also laugh when I said I would complain directly to Peter Parker, the owner of Birchwood, the group that owns this dealer.
Unfortunately, the new bike was also already damaged - there is a deep scratch to the swing arm that appears to be from where the bike was strapped down in the van and the plastic trim is chipped (perhaps from a careless PDI?) I explained we would have this fixed ourselves (not wanting to send the bike back and have to wait, and book another day off, for re-delivery) and asked for a £250 refund to cover the cost of this. After much negotiation with Martyn, £200 was offered which I felt I had little choice to accept given the bike was here and my wife had already insured it.
Throughout the whole process, we’ve had to chase (e.g. to get the new registration details; to correct incorrect names and emails) and it has really felt that everyone we’ve interacted with at the dealership couldn’t careless. The entire process of buying a brand new bike has been soured by this experience and given the damage already caused to bike, I certainly don’t trust Destination Triumph Washington to complete the first service.
Wonderful Experience!
Buying my Speedmaster was an enjoyable experience, from start to finish. I have nothing but praise for the team at Destination Triumph (Dorset). Super friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. Good old fashioned customer service.
Super easy transaction
Super easy transaction. Great value and quick delivery. Highly recommended.
Happy 765rs owner
When choosing my new motorcycle, Destination Triumph made it super easy. I went in to ride a used 765rs and came away with a brand new one. I was shown many options regarding upgrades but never felt pressured into making decisions. The staff that I delt with were really friendly and helpful. I will very much look forward to doing business with them again in the future. Special mention for Abby in sales and Tony in the service/parts department top notch from those two, a solid 10/10 from me 🏍
Excellent - highly recommended 🙏
I’ve found Destination Triumph Washington to hit the spot in terms of sales, servicing and after-sales customer support. A special and heartfelt thanks goes to Abigail Marshall (sales) and Tony (service department) 🏍️💨
