I've tried these guys twice, and unfortunately both experiences were the same. The parts I received were junk. The calipers showed up with stripped hardware and ended up being a complete waste of my time.
After giving them a second chance, I won't be buying from them again. Save yourself the headache and spend a little more at your local parts store where you can actually get decent parts and easily exchange them if there's a problem.

I was shopping for struts for my wife's 2013 Ford Escape. I came across Detroit Axle. 2 struts, 2 sway bar end links and 2 rear shocks for a shockingly great price. Too good to be true fits like a glove here. I got it all installed and the drivers side had a knocking noise. I took it back apart and checked it all then reassembled and torqued everything to the ford spec. I did this several times. Finally I went to my local Oreilly parts store and bought a drivers side strut. Problem fixed immediately. I contacted Detroit Axle and told them the story. They graciously offered up a free replacement. I told them I already had a replacement that worked fine. No partial refund, nothing but a replacement strut. Now the passenger side has the same noise. Skipped Detroit Axle completely and got the passenger side strut from Oreilly too. All good now. The only thing I ended up using was the 2 rear shocks. If you are looking at using Detroit Axle realize that the awesome price is too good to be true and run the other way.

I purchased a set of rotors and brakes, and they sent me the wrong ones for my vehicle. I called them to return them. They sent me a label I sent them back and I have the proof I sent them back. I called them to see where my money was a week later. And they told me they had the product for like. I don't know 5 days and I said, why haven't I got my refund back on my card? And they couldn't give me a reason, and then they kept saying that they had to contact their financial department. And all this, they wouldn't let me talk to a manager. They wouldn't let me talk to anybody. And now i'm fighting with them for a hundred and twenty seven dollars and thirty seven cents through my credit card company, and they have the product back. I don't recommend purchasing from them at all. Because they will take the product and not give you your money back. So my credit card company is still fighting with them. To get my money and it's been over a month. I don't recommend them. They have the product and they still will not give me my money back. And the product was not used. It was opened and I told them that, but it was the wrong size. So if you guys feel like getting scammed out of your product, go ahead and order from them. I know a lot of people that will not order from them now. And I even told them that on the phone, and I have a recorded conversation of all the excuses that they were giving me and then they told me, oh, you'll have your money back within 24 hours. And then it was 48 hours. And they already processed my return, and they didn't do nothing. So be prepared of this company.

I will NEVER use this company again, if I were you, I wouldn't either. I was going to order something on Amazon but called them directly to ensure I received the correct parts. They still sent me the wrong parts. One of the control arms were USED, you could obviously tell it had been installed. They sold me a kit and do not carry one of the parts that I needed and it was a safety related part. How can you sell a kit if you don't have all the required parts to install. I called to discuss this with them. It took me 5 called to finally talk to someone. They offered me 25 bucks for my problems. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SUCK AT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ARE VERY INCOMPETENT!!!

I have had it up to here with these people, I order brakes and calipers from this shit company. They promised two day shipping on their website and it takes a week. Had customers service say that two day shipping means when they ship product and they can’t help what the shipping carrier does and how long it takes them to get it to you. THEN when I get my parts from them, they are wrong. Now I get to send them back and they will MAYBE send me the correct parts in another three days from when they receive the returned parts. So I have been off work for a week and a half so far and still not done. If you need anything that this company offers in a hurry or you would depend on them. Don’t order from them, they will lie, ship whenever or however they want and blame the shipping company, send you wrong parts, and won’t own up or pay for any loss time they might cause you from work.you just keep living, thinking this will cover anybody reading this. You didn’t help me and you won’t help me. You know my situation by this review, so fix it and post it publicly.

Had to get a replacement part, with a month it broke again. It was an idler arm. It was made with plastic bushings. When it broke this time, my truck shook terribly and almost took me off the road. Detroit axle will not do anything to correct this for us. May be affordable parts and cheap quality, plastic bushings shouldn't be anywhere near the idler arm.

Let me preface this first as I’ve been a long loyal customer of Detroit Axle. I have spent THOUSANDS OF dollars on parts with them through the years not to mention all my customers and friends that I have referred to them as well.
That being said. I bought these Rotors back in late March, installed them in April, have put almost 5,000 miles on them and just heard a weird grinding sound coming from them. Removed the tires to inspect and these rotors have literally fallen apart. I have never seen this and i’m a construction guy of 24 years and have always done my repairs to my fleet of trucks. This wasn’t a work truck, it was a grocery getter around town- a Ford Edge. Called customer service today and they said no problem, we will warranty the rotors and pads, you just have to pay for the shipping! Wait, me pay for the shipping again? You sold me defective junk parts!!! You should be replacing the whole order which includes the rear rotors as well! I haven’t used the rear rotors yet as I didn’t need them at the time. Sorry not happening Detroit Axle. I can see that story if I had used them for 3 years and out 30-40k on them. I barely drive this car.
So guess what, I’ll never use your parts again. And my advice to anyone considering using them, beware! They can sell you junk parts which they will get credit from their supplier then screw you the customer when it comes to replacing a warranty junk item making you pay for shipping again. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE, SHOP LOCAL, DON’T BELIEVE THEIR MESSAGE WHEN YOU CALL IN AND THEY SAY QUALITY PARTS!!!!
STAY AWAY, AND REMEMBER, SOMEONE HAS TO PUT THESE BACK ON FOR YOU IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DO YOURSELF!
Way to lose a loyal customer Detroit Axle…..
*If anyone wants to see pictures of the defective rotors please ask, I’ll show you what you may end up with….

The prices are good and probably reasonable quality. The issue is not using them when you actually need a part in a timely basis. My part was supposed to be here in 3 days. However a week later it has made a tour of the country. I live in Maine — it has gone all the way to Connecticut and is now residing in Colorado and still waiting for it to actually even give me a time of arrival. You are at their mercy to “wait”. Better customer service would be to send out another part to get there and the original America touring part back to the company…

The orders were shipped and received with no damage, and were delivered on time. The quality of the replacement parts is excellent, the pricing is very reasonable, and the long term warranty is why I purchased from your company. My comment is that there is no mounting hardware with the assemblies. When I called to ask about this, the person that answered the phone was polite and professional in explaining the company position. I will, however, suggest this is not a good practice. A replacement parts kit should include mounting hardware, especially for suspension components, for safety and correct installation. Also, the company website should be updated to include a notice that hardware is not included, for all parts kits, if this is not changed. My work history is Maritime Engineering and Aviation Maintenance, so I do have some knowledge of what I am mentioning. Hardware should not be re-used unless there is no other option. I would have paid extra for the new hardware to be included. Thank you.

When I tried to purchase 1st time I got a message saying there was a problem with payment. I figured it was due to the hold on CC for a few days after payment. So I waited a few days and ordered them at a second attempt. It went through immediately. It wasn't until I received a second brake kit that I realized the 1st attempt to order actually did work. The return process was a nightmare as it is heavy and hazardous goods. Even the FedEx that does accept hazardous goods couldn't take it due to it being ground and not express. I had to schedule a driver to pick it up. I agreed to the return shipping fees. AFTER the return was complete I was notified I'd only get 16% of what I paid returned for "restocking fee". I could have sold the brake kit privately & recovered my costs with less labor and grief. They of course didn't notify me of the extra fees til they had the product back. All I was notified of from the begining was return shipping costs. Literally 16% return. The brakes have been installed for about a month now and still screetch which I've seen is a common issue with Detroit Axle break kits. If you buy cheap, you'll get cheap with zero customer service.

I had previously written a review on some wheel bearings for my 2013 Chevy Impala limited. I gave 2 stars because of some traction control and brake light warnings that occurred about a month after I installed them. Turns out it was unrelated issue to what I thought was a defective wheel speed sensor. The wheel bearings were a perfect fit and easy to install. My old wheel bearings were Detroit Axle as well, and they endured almost 4 years of hard road and track driving. My family and I been using Detroit Axle suspension and brake parts for over 5 years for their great pricing, reliable parts, and swift availability.

I was so excited about getting my rotors and brakes with a free 2 day shipping! However 2 days later I was trying to track it and it had not moved from labeling. Mind you I was preparing for a 10 vacation right after I was supposed to get the car fixed. So I called the customer service line to find out what’s was going on. The gentleman that I spoke with was very rude and said your parts aren’t even going to be sent out until Monday of the following week which would have been a week after I ordered them. I then asked him when were they gonna notify me and that was out of the timeframe that I needed it he said sorry I asked him to cancel my order and he said he couldn’t that once they were delivered then I could send them back and then I could cancel. I asked to speak with a manager, he said sorry we can’t do that either. Somebody can reach out to you within 24 to 48 hours. Customer service horrible lies on their website for two day shipping liars! Don’t ever do business with them I won’t!
