Very Poor Service
I was expecting a delivery from the UK to my address in France and received an email from DHL on 8th April informing me that the 'Shipment was on it's way' and that I could track my parcel.
Thus far, from Friday, 7. Apr. 2017 @ 9:58p.m. until Saturday, 8. Apr. 2017 @ 1:11p.m. there were already 5 entries informing me of progress in the UK with the last one telling me that it had been 'Shipped from the Global Shipping Centre to International Destination'.
Thereafter, from Saturday, 8. Apr. 2017 @ 2:15p.m. to Wednesday, 12. Apr. 2017 @ 6:12p.m.. there were a further 13 entries informing me that the package was 'In Transit with Destination Carrier'. which led me to believe that it was in the process of being delivered to me.
On Thursday, 13th April I left the house at 9:00a.m. to keep a hospital appointment but, before leaving, I checked the progress again to find another four entries still informing me that it was 'In Transit with the Destination Carrier'.
When I arrived home at around 5:00p.m. I found another two entries, the first at 10:36a.m. informing me that the parcel was 'Out for Delivery' and the second at 1:22p.m. informing me that there had been a 'Delivery Attempt - BAD ADDRESS'.
The following day I telephoned DHL and had the impression that the operative was not there to answer questions but just to arrange another delivery. Immediately after finishing the call, I had a phone call from the courier who informed me that he had a load of parcels on his van and could I meet him in a supermarket car-park, which was a 20 minute drive away. Not wanting to take the risk of the parcel being undelivered again, I agreed, although I felt that DHL was supposed to be providing a delivery service which nowhere stated that I had to go and collect the parcel. When I arrived at the car park, I could only see three parcels on his van (including mine) and asked him if he had trouble finding my property, hence the reason for the BAD ADDRESS entry on the tracking sheet. It transpires that he didn't bother trying to find the property because as he had tried ringing beforehand and there was no answer, he assumed that no-one was here. Regardless of the fact that I had a hospital appointment, I could have been working outside in the garden but would have been able to hear the telephone.
The complaint I have is that:-
1. As I am not an employee of DHL, I don't understand your terminology and where you stated that the parcel was 'In Transit with Destination Carrier' I understood it to mean that the parcel was actually on its way to me. Is there really any need to keep informing me several times a day of this fact.
2. It doesn't show much organisation on your part when you can only inform customers of their delivery on the actual day. In my case, I had a hospital appointment that day and apart from not seeing your note before leaving the house, it transpires that your courier didn't even bother to turn up. I have had experience of several transport companies and they have all been able to give at least 24 hours notice of their arrival so that I can ensure that someone is here to accept the parcel.
3. What kind of a service are you providing whereby you expect the recipient to travel to collect their own parcel?
4. When you use the terminology 'BAD ADDRESS' what does that mean exactly? Are you actually saying that the courier didn't even bother to try and deliver?
I would have thought that after approximately 45 years of trading, you would have been able to provide a better service than this.
Completely useless never ever use this …
Completely useless never ever use this lot a bunch of crooks
Extremely quick
Ordered an item from France online and DHL had it to my door in two days, and it was early in the morning!
Fantastic system, keep it up !
Just a very very poor customer experience
Despite DHL France having been able to deliver to this address in the past suddenly - they cant find us! So I now have to do a round journey of 30 KM to pick up my parcel from a supermarket - they cant even give me a time so I have to guess when it is there. Disgraceful! I shall inform the company I bought from that this is not acceptable and if I am to order good from them in the future they need to change their courier. Also trying to finds a phone number for DHL in general is impossible but in France you have to use a premium cost number.
DHL Nice correction delivery received
DHL Nice did deliver , they can be a bit unreliable but are generally good
DHL is the pits
This is the second time this year that a package has been sent to me in Paris, France and has not been delivered. It seems to save money the high cost DHL service does nothing better than subcontract to the substandard French postal system. This means that the civil servants delivering packages can do whatever they want and never be fired, including going for coffee rather than delivering.
For the first package the tracking indicated "not home". In fact, I was home and never the doorbell did ring!
The tracking for the second package indicates that I have "moved" from the home where I have been living for almost 40 years. And then, as Belkin has tried to correct the situation, they did not find better to do but send and deliver the package to an unknown address in Birmingham UK. I hope the recipient appreciates our collection of Belkin cables, but we are not about to receive them in the near future.
No, Nay, Never ship anything of any importance to France by DHL.
