The WORST customer experience of my…

The WORST customer experience of my life. After a week, no one knows if my insurance is activated or not. Keep speaking with different people and each of them says something different. I wish I could do a proper complaint.

DKV refund rejected, no explanation, Worst customer service ever

DKV refused to refund the invoice of my surgery stating it was a pre-existing condition before I enrolled in the health plan. even if I have medical proof this is wrong they stopped replied to my emails, there is not human being I can talk by phone specifically about my case (yes, they have "Reembolso telephone number" but it is useless because they always say to send an email because the team who accept/reject the invoice is a different one) and after more than two months no one wants to assist me. Such a customer service. Despues 2 meses defensacliente aun no me ha contestado.

What DKV customer service department, 3 mail and not one response

Despite the apparent, as per your initial response of interest in my issues with DKV, and the suggestion that I contact their customer department, 3 emails have been sent to their “customer service centre” (what a joke they are) and NOT ONE REPLIED TO, nor any attempt to resolve this, so obviously when DKV have a valid case against them, they simply ignore you and trust that you will give up!!
I have requested the contact details for the Insurance Ombudsman, which they are required to supply, but surprise surprise, that has also been totally ignored, with no response.
However I have received as a recorded delivery in my post with my 2022 policy documents, complete with a highly detailed additional exclusion document preventing me to either request ANY investigations or operations on my spine. For obvious reasons, there is no way on this earth that I will renew my policy with them.
KEEP WATCHING THIS POST AS IT IS GOING TO THE OMBUDSMAN.
That way, the future 86% of DKV clients that consider service is less than 1 out of 5 ( pity they do not have a 0 out of 5) will know how to proceed against them in an industrial court along with the negative attention they will get, not only on this review site but every one that I can find and comment on.
DKV, THIS NOT GOING AWAY, EITHER FROM TRUSTPILOT OR MANY OTHER DKV REVIEW SITES, DO THE RIGHT THING AND RESOLVE THIS DKV FAILURE.
MY name is Clifford Douglas Devereaux, policy is in Murcia Spain, a simple matter to find my policy ( if you really have any interest in resolving your screwups) and then come back to this site and do an honest response instead of your usual pathetic excuse of “we cannot find your details”

Terrible company

Terrible company - do NOT use. I am still waiting for a back scan after over 5 weeks. They say the hospital has not sent my information, the hospital say that they have! I call nearly every day and get nowhere. What are we paying for, they are incompetent thieves, and seem to be totally disinterested in my problem. AVOID THIS COMPANY! I am totally demoralised and disgusted with the way I have been (not) treated. How can this behaviour towards people be legal, let alone moral. There has been no effort on their behalf whatsoever to try and help my situation.

dont use this inssurance

dont use this inssurance , they are theifs , liars , and they dont do nothing .. my doctor asked me for a gastroscopia because of a doctor they sent me too gave a medicine that made my stomach like hell without asking me if i had any allergies, and then they keep ignoring me for a month and a half asking for more papers , you give them the paper , they ask for more papers that are impossible to get , they want me to come back to the doctor after a month and a half to write a new report when i already sent a report and it spécifies everything. They will just keep asking you for papers to stall you and not do nothing . It's been two months now and i called 5 times and said they are on it and then i call back they ask dor more papers . And now they will be more expensive, WORST INSURANCE IN SPAIN

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Worse company ever

Well what can I say about this Health Insurance Provider …. AVOIDANCE is best!! My father has them as his insurance provider here in Spain! Diagnosed with Prostrate cancer but DENIED the treatment as they claim it was pre-existing! Started his policy in February 2021, shown symptoms in August 2021 so very unsure how this is pre existing! My father has not displayed any symptoms of Cancer until August but refusing to cover costs! Nearly €3k in scans and treatment and just been denied treatment for an operation that is €8k! I have attempted to email all email addresses I can find, even the addresses their offices in Murcia have given and no reply! I have even spoken to my fathers Gp in england who has confirmed NEVER been tested or visited the GP with prostrate issues! I have even spoken with Oncology at the LRI who have confirmed they have no knowledge of him…. So how can this be pre-existing??? I for one certainly don’t know if I have cancer … I have no Crystal ball and cannot see inside my own body…. They just take the money and don’t want to cough up when things are needed!!! Absolutely shocking that they can sit back and watch a human die ….. please please please find other health care in Spain! As a family member of a client of DKV the stress and hurt this company cause Is off the scale!! I wish to the lord above that we had listened to other people and used another company!

EDITED UPDATE: Thought I should further add to this review as I fully stand by what I have said! We are now day 6 into my fathers diagnosis and despite my continued emails to various departments including the companies legal team, as I can as mentioned proved that this Cancer treatment should be covered, there is still no response from anyone! This company seem very at ease with themselves to literally sit back and watch a family struggle, a family that are sitting back and watching a loved one DIE in front of them as not able to have the treatment! It is shameful! I can only stress that I wish for no other client of DKV to go through this kind of fight and hell, when you shouldn’t have to! Please please please choose and think wisely when taking out cover! Avoid this company like the plague and go elsewhere! They have no care, no compassion and try and wriggle out of it all! Their silence on this matter also speaks volumes!! AVOID DKV! It’s not worth the hassle!

Another update: Guys this is going from bad to worse… keep in mind this is a TERMINALLY ill person! So I have been sending emails to all departments within DKV, providing all information regarding the fact that this is NOT a pre-existing condition which we can PROVE without a shadow of doubt, and getting nothing back! Out WhatsApp contact is reading the messages we are sending requesting head office contact numbers and we are being ignored! No replies from any department not even their legal department, and during all this time my father still is not getting treatment! This is a cancer patient that can’t access the treatment that is needed to ease his suffering and help to prolong his life! This makes me feel sick to the stomach! Slowly but surely we are watching a person die in front of our eyes with no care from a company who took their money at the start and now refusing to pay back the thousands spent, and cover his medical expenses! My father did not go for the cheap policy either, the top policy was taken out! I need to ensure that whatever the outcome is for us that people AVOID this company! I would not be able to sleep at night if another client of theirs was having to endure what we are now! ***FINAL NAIL IN COFFIN*** so DKV didn’t have the grace to let us know that their way out of this was to cancel the policy! Even though we have PROVED that this was not a pre existing condition! Hopefully you can all see their reply! We attended a pre arranged appointment for my fathers THROMBOSIS, something that they also should be covering, to get to a packed reception and to be told that the policy had been cancelled! Now bear in mind that I have been emailing them for days!!! So further distress and embarrassment caused to a dying man!! Well done 👏! So they claim that ore existing! Now I have forwarded all my fathers U.K. NHS records which show after various FULL BLOOD counts, within the past 4 years that there has been NO CANCER!!! So DKV what’s your next move! I’m so pleased that you are making your responses on here as this is just proving my point that you are the pits!!!! So check mate!

The worst insurance there is

The worst insurance there is. After being with them for almost one year I never received a medical card and if you want to do certain important medical tests (for woman pap smear etc) they won’t give you permission. Criminals!

I CANT WAIT TO LEAVE

I have changed bank and can no longer pay by direct debit but they have ignored my request for the DKV bank details so I can pay the remainder of the year IN FULL by bank transfer.

The customer service has been so bad since day 1 that they have been given notice in writing that our 2 policies will not be renewed.

They have failed to acknowledge this notification.

The agent is condescending and the customer service department just cherry pick what questions they want to acknowledge.

Don’t get sick on a weekend as you will not be able to get any treatment authorised and if you leave a deposit to cover the awaited authorisation they will not assist you AT ALL to recover your deposit.

Customer service in Spain is very poor and DKV lead by this bad example.

EDIT: I presume you mean the same people at Málaga who have proven to be totally incompetent.

The mañana mañana approach where everything is left until there is no other option than to deal with it is clearly tedious to all 1* posters and it is about time you realised 80% bad reviews for the same reasons needs MORE customer service training or new staff who care about what people think.

EDIT UPDATE:
I received an email stating my direct debit had failed and asking me to set up another so my numerous emails fell on deaf ears.

A very condescending Maria from Customer Service who seems unable to read a simple email failed yet again to confirm the request for policy termination confirmation at the end of this payment year.
BEWARE this has to be done in writing at least a month before end date and they will go all out to ignore the request. I have probably included the cancellation in 20 plus emails with out a single response.

Well I paid the final amount by bank transfer and the less time I spend dealing with these work shy incompetents in the remaining 6 months the better.

80% + 1* reviewers all with similar issues cannot be wrong.

Yes a few are happy but are they real or just very lucky?

The trend seems to be total complacency so if you buy a DKV policy good luck.

On a side issue my partner went to a DKV authorised dentist who stated DKV DENTAL prices are over inflated and offered the same job for nearly €400 less.

She also said her teeth were good.

I took her to my private dentist and just paid over €3000 for urgent necessary work.

It’s not free and in our case was not any good either.

EDIT:
It appears that the answer to bad reviews is daily spam and ignoring requests to quit. VERY PROFESSIONAL you are now confined to my junk folder.

Peace of mind

My wife & I have had a DKV policy for over 4 years. \it is a comprehensive policy and we pay ~220euros each month. Our experiences with the local rep Claire J from Moraira, and the DVK helpline staff have been excellent. We had had occasion to use the policy for both minor ailments, accident requiring in-patient surgery, and serious medical conditions and physiotherapy. We have found the associated doctors, surgeons and physios to be timely, professional and reassuring in their approach. For us, DVK has meant Peace of Mind.

We have had DKV insurance for over 5…

We have had DKV insurance for over 5 years now with Claire Johnstone Insurance. We have used the policy extensively and have never had any issues with getting medical treatment. Claire is a real hands on agent and can not do enough to help. We are very happy with the policy our family has and can't recommend DKV highly enough.

Family Plan for over 10 years

Family Plan for over 10 years

We took out a family plan over 10 years ago, our Agent Claire goes above and beyond the call of duty. Always at the end of the phone whenever we need her. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, and I've personally recommended her to all of my friends and family over the years.

My husband is constantly getting sports injuries, but we have a great physio and he is always able to get an appointment whenever he needs it.

We've had all kinds of different treatments over the years, even my daughter who was traveling in Europe was covered when she had to go to hospital.

I definitely prefer to have an agent as opposed to one of the Spanish banks. They're constantly pushing life, house and health insurance and they don't explain what's covered and what's not. In fact I was in the bank a couple of days ago and a couple were being refused the option of opening a bank account unless they took out the banks health insurance. The banks don't care about their customers, you're just another bit of commission for them. I would recommend finding an agent, then you really do get the personal touch.

I recommend DKV and their agents 100%.

Excellent

We have a joint policy for myself and my wife, which we took out 7 years ago. We have made use of the policy and found the service to be excellent, together with the customer support from their local representative, here in Moraira, N Costa Blanca. More recently, my wife has required extensive testing at the local IMED hospitals and this has been covered by our policy. We have been very satisfied with the cover under the policy.

Disappointing and not recommendable at all

I do not recommend DKV health insurances at all.
Once you finally decide to take one, they do not answer you at all anymore. Not possible nor to have them on the phone, nor by SMS, nor by mail. I took a " reembolso" policy but none of my invoices have been refunded like explained on the phone by them and nobody answers my messages. I am basically paying for nothing as i have not been able to use any service from them. Also, they explained on the phone that my partner could then be registered with me at a discounted price but when finally someone answered me months later, it turned out that the price would be double. For these reason, this have been the first and the last time i use a DKV health insurance and i will send my resignation letter so this year would be the last.After i left these comments, DKV contacted me to ask for my data so they can identify me. They have not been able even to do that. That is a proof of how incomptent and unprofesionals they are.

Esto es una estafa pura

Manténgase alejado de esta compañía de seguros. He solicitado la cancelación de mi póliza varias veces a través de Isalud.com, quien es su agente, así como directamente a través de DKV. Desafortunadamente, a pesar de mis solicitudes, todavía cobran a mi cuenta bancaria y no responden a mi solicitud de cancelar esta póliza de seguro. En la legislación española se puede cancelar el contrato de seguro sin ningún coste durante los primeros 14 días. Envío mis solicitudes de cancelación, pero no recibo ninguna respuesta, no tengo contacto, nada. Es una estafa pura, y tenga en cuenta sus prácticas injustas. Son muy receptivos hasta que firma el contrato, luego lo ignoran y simplemente cargan su cuenta bancaria. Esto es una estafa pura.

Stay away from this insurance company. I have asked for cancellation of my policy several times through Isalud.com who is their agent as well as directly through DKV. Unfortunately, despite my requests they still charge my my bank account and do not aswer for my request to cancel my insurance policy. In spanish law you can cancel insurance plicy without any costst during first 14 days. I send my requests to cancel, but no any answers, no contact, nothing. It is pure scam, and please be aware of their unfair practicies. They are very responsive till you sign contract, later they ignore you and just charge your bank account. This is pure scam.

Look at the reviews this company is a joke! They refuse to cancel my policy after 4 emails. Just keep sending me the same things back over and over again. Please for your own good avoid this Sh***t show of a company!

We confirm that the cancellation of your policy will be effective on January 1, 2022. As stated in the contract, the insurances have an annual duration (regardless of whether the payment is divided into monthly or quarterly periods) and are tacitly extended, except that one of the two parties (company or client) oppose it within the deadlines established by law, which are one month before the end of the contract, in the case of clients, and two months in advance, in the case of the insurer.

Thus, having requested your withdrawal during the month of April and it is an annual contract, the withdrawal does not take effect until January 1.

Never known a company like this for…

Never known a company like this for taking your money out every month but as soon as you have a question for them they just ignore you. They put our premium up in January without any notice. Our policy was not even due for renewal until February.
I have wrote numerous emails all with no responce whatsoever. I am wanting to ask them a question relating to my covid jab but they just ignore me.
I wish i had never heard of this company and my direct debits will be cancelled forthwith.
God help me if ever i need urgent medical assistance.

This company is a joke

I needed to extend my health insurance policy because of Brexit. I rang the local Malaga office who passed me to someone else who passed me to someone else who passed me to someone else etc etc etc ... ending up finally back at the original people I called.
Since then I have called almost every day, always the same fiasco with the phones, I have written endless emails but this matter just can't be resolved - now three weeks. I've been told it's being processed but then when I phone again no one knows anything about it. Every person I talk to gives me a different story. They seem to just invent the first thing that comes into their heads. I will cancel the policy as soon as I can. I was with Asisa some years ago and they were always very reliable. This bunch are simply incompetent imbeciles.

Refuse to cancel policy

I requested cancellation of my policy last year. As I am not living in Spain but, the UK. The company renewed the policy this year and contiue to invoice me for a service that I can not use and do not want.

They have requested town hall registration in order to cancel it. But,that does not exist in the UK

23% increase per premium year on year without any communication. If you are a foreigner / expat / business owner this insurance is not competitive and its packs are not economically efficient.

We inform you that the amount of health insurance is reviewed every year taking into account the increase in the cost of medical services and anticipating the future needs of our insured, such as new coverage, treatments or medical advances, we indicate that DKV notifies you with two months In advance the price increase, also if you want to deal with your particular case, you can contact the free phone number 900 199 001.

Death / Life / Home Policies:
The increase in premium depends on the type of insurance contracted, so in order to give you a more specific explanation we would need you to indicate what type of policy you have contracted to the email atencioncliente@dkvseguros.es

We also indicate the channels to which you can go if you are dissatisfied with the increase in your policy, so you can present your letter at any of our offices or send it to the Customer Defense service.
