The worst of the worst

I'm not even sure how they can call this a "service". They never deliver their packages by the next business day, if you are lucky you'll receive it within a week. And that is when you are lucky.
The fact that this "service" is priced as the same as other companies like GLS & MPL is just the cherry on top.
If I ever plan on ordering anything from now on, and DPD is the only shipping option there, I'll just pick it up at the store, that's how unthrustworthy and unreliable this company has become.

Unacceptably low standards

13/01/25 update: on second attempt I received my delivery, presumably because I called customer service in advance and provided additional details (doorbell number, floor, door number and Hungarian phone number). According to the customer care, the lack of these details is what prevented the first delivery attempt (however my name is clearly indicated on the doorbell, so I am not sure why this is the case).
According to customer care, it is possible to enter these details by clicking on the tracking/modification "button" on the DPD email, crucially without the need for a confirmation code, which is not sent to non-Hungarian mobiles. I cannot say whether that really works, and whether the delivery would really take place, but I guess it's worth a try...

10/01/25. Unacceptably low standards. DPD Hungary couriers consistently fail to deliver packages (to a central Budapest address) and falsely report having attempted a delivery which never took place. The problem is compounded by a very unresponsive and uninterested customer service (both via phone and email) and the very remote location of the pick-up warehouse. It is shocking that such an inadequate service with such an arrogant an uninterested attitude towards its clients can survive on the market anywhere in Europe. I actually avoid purchasing from merchants who deliver through DPD Hungary, and I will report to the international courier who consigned my package to DPD Hungary for last mile delivery that they need to change partners..

Literally the worst of the worsts

Literally the worst of the worsts. The tracking says the delviery was unsuccesful, however they didn’t even try to deliver my package. I was at home - they didn’t even call me on the phone. Avoid them at all costs!

I would give below zero star

I would give below zero star. 1 star is too much for that horrible service provider. I receive packages regularly from different other providers without any issue, but in case of DPD, they always claim we are not home or address not correct. Fully not true as we are always home! ..what a disaster!

DPD once again fails

I have lived in Hungary more than 7 years and out of probably 15 packages sent to me by vendors, 2 were lost, several were not delivered due to the excuse we were not home, when we were or they claimed the address on package was wrong. Today they used the excuse we were not home. we were, we were outside all morning. They never came. we saw Magyar Posta and GLS. I willNEVER use DPD for anything again because they are unreachable by telephone and seldom reply emails.

Courier just leave the delivery place without delivering package.

Courier driving to delivery place and then just leaves the place (with no call to phone or doorbell), explaining it that on the package was no delivery data (which seems already unreal)...and refuses to drive back to deliver the package. Also support is awful you need to be on the phone for more than 30 minutes and someone will answer you if you are lucky.

Terrible service!

Terrible service,
I sent a package and they placed a completely wrong label on it, now it arrived in another country than it was meant to go to.
Calling and email also gives me no answer. So the customer service is unreachable for me.

Definitely wont be returning to their service again.

Violent behavior

Yesterday I was expecting the delivery an order. I received a notification in the morning stating that the parcel would be delivered between 11:46 and 12:46. At 11:18 I received a call from your deliveryman who informed me that he would deliver the package within the next two minutes (the communication was not easy because of linguistic barriers). From the window I saw him parking in front of my place and looking for the items in the van. Then, inexplicably he left and I immediately received a notification from DPD that the order could not be delivered. I tried to call their customer service and nobody answered (I later tried several times, holding the line to up to 45 minutes and nobody answered; please, keep in mind that I have evidence for my claims). I then tried to send SMS and call back the number from which your deliveryman had called me. When he answered the call he started mocking me making childish noises. I then sent him another SMS informing that I would report his behavior. From then, he started insulting me and threatening me. These are some of the highlights of his messages: “Tisztelettel, mert kihúzom a beled!” and “Ahhoz kevês vagy.. bevándorlo.”

Insulting and threatening customers should not be part of the work ethics of a reputable company, not to mention the shameful use of xenophobic and racist language used by their employees.

I only used them once but NEVER EVER

I only used them once but NEVER EVER. The website and mobile app is not user-friendly at all, its difficult to navigate, payment option did not work for hours. The customer support is terrible, and there was no pre-notification of the package to be picked up from my home. But I received an email about package being successfully picked up by the driver, which wasn't even true. Nobody rang the bell, nobody called me, so again, I had to spend long time to call the customer support and explain them the situation. Basically I wasted 2 days of hours of work with a simple task and the package is still with me. The only good thing is that they have a first time promo on the first delivery, but if the system does not work, its pretty useless.

Terrible

Terrible. Watched my driver arrive. Didn’t come up to my door. Snapped a picture of the front door and took off before I could run down. Paid an extra £10 to have it delivered today and now I have to wait the whole weekend. Ridiculous. Can’t get ahold of anyone either so don’t bother trying.

3 packages all 4 weeks late

I have called customer service 7 times. 7 times!!!

Everytime they say they will try to deliver the next day and that I will get a notification (I changed to an Automated delivery box even before the first call)

Apparently after 2 week of not delivering there, then they realised that the box was full, so I had to change to a pickup point. 2 weeks later, still not delivered to the pickup point. I have been calling every 3 days

I would like financial compensation at this point, I was expecting urgent medical devices and I'm paying for this delivery. I can understand that it's the holidays. But to not have a delivery to an automated box in 4 weeks is absurd and ridiculous

There is some serious problems going on there

Incompetence or scam?

When I wasn't home the courier called me that he's going to drop the package at a parcelshop. When I picked up the package it was severely damaged (he clearly slammed the door of the van multiple times on the package). This happened three different times and every time it's the same damage most likely out of spite. Another time when I was home by the time I got down the stairs the courier was gone and my package was opened up with a knife and scattered on the ground. They never pick up the phone or reply to an e-mail. I don't know if they are just this incompetent or someone is using the company to launder money.
And beware that La Poste will sometimes hand over the parcels to DPD.

This place is a joke!
They only pick up the phone if you call them at least 10 times in a row. They don't answer to e-mails. When you get lucky and reach them, they will tell you what you want to hear. I called them 2 times after my parcel was at their depo for 8 days without a single delivery attempt. They told me it will arrive to my adress the next day. Nothing happend. Called them again, they told, me that it will be delivered during the actual week, and they reassured me that they wont send it back. I even offered that i can go to the depo and get it myself, but they told me that it is not an option. The next day they sent my parcel back, which i already payed for. I bought the item in a promotion, but if they send it back, i have to order it again and the promotion is no longer available. Never would I ever use their services again. Avoid them by any cost

Back to sender....

So I was at home. I work in IT I work from home. I have been waiting for my package for more then a week so I am constantly checking where my package is. Today for my suprise it said I refused to accept the package and they are sendig it back to the sender... I WAS HOME ALL DAY, THEY DID NOT CALL DID NOT RING and then they decide I refused to get my package???
