Package undelivered despite correct address, impossible to reach an agent, website unreliable

Package undelivered because:
>We were unable to deliver your parcel and had to return it to the depot as your address is incorrect

However, the address is 100% correct. Moreover, I have provided the gate telephone number and my own mobile number and never received a phone call. I tried calling DPD and after listing to a very very long introductory automated message, I then was played another automated message indicating that all agents were unavailable and that I should use the website.

This is the worst delivery company I have ever had to deal with. I will never ever get anything delivered through them again nor order from anywhere that only offers them as a delivery option. Frankly, this appears to be an exceptionally poorly run, pathetically immature business.

Delivery not attempted

Despite being home, received a message that no one was home for delivery. Received no contact, no one rang doorbell, no one knocked. It was not true that no one was available, delivery was not even attempted. Had to drive miles for parcel pickup.

Outrageously Bad Service...

When ordering anything online I dread seeing that the courier company used by the seller is DPD. I have had over 10 'deliveries' made by them and can speak with good authority. 8 out of the 10 times the package was attempted to be delivered on 3 occasions, according to DPD. This is an outright lie - nobody rang our bell or called my mobile to even attempt. To make matters worse, they then ask you to collect in person from the depot that is 10km outside Budapest and is inaccessible by public transport.
On the two occasions we did receive our package it was on the third attempt.
Also, when chasing the parcel and delivery there is a wait time of usually 15 mins and you get cut off if the call goes unanswered for 21 minutes - I speak from experience as I have called them over 100 times in chasing packages and wasted hours of my life on hold.
I do have empathy for the service operators who must be inundated with this same complaint; it is a waste of their time and the customers. To make matters worse, the ineffective telephone system makes you wait 1 minute and 15 seconds of Hungarian before announcing 'For English, please press 2'. Surely this 3-second option for English Operator would be better at the start of the call..
Moreover, to have over 10 'deliveries' over the last few years and have exactly the same problem every single time demonstrates that there is serious mismanagement of the Hungarian operation. It goes from the top down and they need to make very necessary changes.
I have received 3-4 packages per week in Budapest for the last 5 years and rarely have issues with DHL, Express One or UPS in Budapest. This is likely a known issue from suppliers as almost nobody uses DPD, and it is evident why.

It is also very telling that DPD has not bothered to apologise nor address any of the complaints and issues that have been made on this review site.

Poor courier and website service

They claimed that the courier was twice at my home to deliver a parcel, which is not true.

In addition, their online platform to redirect the delivery crashes with wrong URIs errors or not accepting the right PIN code.

Official opening hours until 6 PM on…

Official opening hours until 6 PM on Fridays. When I arrived 3:40 it was already closed and won't open again for three weeks! And this on Friday 22 Dec when people need to pick up their Christmas presents.

lies lies and laziness

they failed to deliver to their first pickup point, i had to call them 3 times to pick another. then the other was "closed down" upon their try to deliver. I went by there 2 minutes after and it was open and in full operation.
after 2 socalled tries to deliver to their own damn pickup points i had to go to their centre 90 minutes away to pick it up....
The customer service and the reception people were nice..

DPD Hungary is like a black hole.

In my particular case purchases from Netherlands to a delivery address in Greece, every each single time the packages get stuck at the distribution centre at DPD Hungary for days. It's like a black hole and like time and space doesn't exist there, no updates on the tracking number for days and their DPD Hungary website is so unfriendly and exclusively in Hungarian. This is clearly a nation and a country that doesn't want or feel the need to collaborate and their DPD branch says the same via its unfriendly and unwelcoming non-informative approach.

The WORST shipping service in Hungary…

The WORST shipping service in Hungary and the world. A Chinese shipping company is better than this scam. The first time someone sent me a product using DPD, they didn't deliver and I had to pick it up in the warehouse. Now, the second time someone sends me something again with this company they say "There was no one at home" which is really strange because I work from home so unless they tried two times in the middle of the night when I was sleeping there is no way I was not available to receive it. Still waiting almost a month for my package and they can't deliver, they can't send it back, they have it who knows where. English service is terrible!!! The guy the company thinks speaks English doesn't speak English at all. Talking with him on the phone is useless because he doesn't understand what you are saying. Really save yourself the hustle and AVOID IT.

Cheap and better

In 6th of January my sister send a parcell from Debrecen-Hungary to Ireland Pick up point Nyugati Street 10 and after 10 minutes arrive intact without damage ,,punctual"and correct delivery Thanks DPD Debrecen ,thanks DPD Ireland

Unreliable and disrespectful

They give you an hour when they say they will come. But they're just being 'optimistic'. Truth is, they may come, they may not. Depends on the will of the wind. Super unreliable company with no customer support. It's shocking they are still operating in Hungary and haven't been replaced with a company with even a slight bit of competence.

Avoid them.. Absolutely horrible service..

Better to avoid them as they are absolutely useless. We sent 2 packages, 1 to Austria and the other one to Ireland and they mixed the packages. I told to customer service they have to pick up the package againwhat they delivered to Austria and forward it to Ireland. They did it but its still sitting at Netherland since 9 days. They picked up this package first time from Hungary a month ago. So congratulation DPD! The other package what they reversed from Ireland to Austria is an other funny story. They doesn't even sent back to the original delivery address they was thinking is better to send it back to the sender and pick it up again 2 days later. And the more funny thing is.. We had to pay the delivery again.. They refunded the deliveries of course but they doesn't take any responsibility on lost of profit for example to ref to they T&C.. It's absolutely horrible service.. They worst excuse was the covid situation.. Don't kidding me.. I ordered deliveries same time with DHL and UPS and both have arrived within 5 days.. So no dear dpd no sorry on that..

Absolutely horrible service

Absolutely horrible service. I was at home 2 times and I didn't even hear the bell. Then I tried to find their center at Hunyadi Janos utca .. and I can't find it .... they have no directions at all .. and I am afraid my package just has to be sent back .... Worst order service I ever witnessed.

Poor service

Poor service, they just said they could not deliver the parcel to my place without any other reason. I did not receive a call, and I was at home waiting for them. They made me pick up the parcel at one place that was super far away and took me 1 hour to arrive.

Appalling service

Appalling service! The courier is stating that they attempted a delivery on 17th Dec 2020. However I was in my property waiting all day and even have a video door bell that proves no attempt was made. DPD now refusing to re deliver. Please don not use this courier company.

Worst service ever

I am really not satisfied with their service.
I ordered a heavy package from Ikea, allegedly DPD tried to deliver the package twice, as they said, but I was at home and nobody rang the bell or called me.
I called the delivery guy and never answered to me, I called the customer service who told me that they would call the delivery gux and he would call me, that again, never happened.
So after all they won't deliver my package although I paid for it and now I have to go and pick it up on my own.
I would never choose this service again.
At the least they should apologize and do their job but so far neither of these has happened.

The worst service i ever received from…

The worst service i ever received from a courier.
Request prepayment, sending e-mail that they will pick up the package on the same day but actually are not picking it up for a week.

Still the package is not pick up but money is paid.

worst delivery experience

I have purchased various collectibles through ebay, about 4 months ago. The seller has provided the tracking number, even tho I had this number DPD has managed to loose my product. Based on the tracking number the package last registered places, was in the depo next to my town. I have filed a missing package report, which they told me to do, and that they can find the my package within a month. That report was filed almost 3 months ago and still not a freaking update on it, they just say, that they are still looking.
Also whanever they previously delivered anything, they just randomly gave it to my neighbor whanever I wasn’t home, without even giving me a call or email notification.
The worst deliver there is, I dont even understand why companies use them at all.
Both support and delivery wise is the worst in the whole world, pathetic.
