Misleading Sales Claims and Refusal to Honour Verbal Guarantees

I am currently in a formal legal dispute with e-Careers (Claim No: 009JE920). During the sales call, I was verbally reassured I could cancel if unhappy, but when I tried to do so due to a bereavement and the course not being as described, they refused.

They are now withholding full refund rights by claiming I "activated" the course—an action I only took because their advisor instructed me to. I have found discrepancies between my call logs and the recordings they provided. Dealing with them has been a nightmare while on Universal Credit and dealing with dyslexia. I have reported them to the Financial Ombudsman and the ICO. Think twice before signing up.

UPDATE: e-Careers replied claiming they shared "all details," but this is not true. I have evidence that my April 17th phone call was 11 minutes and 39 seconds long, yet the recording they provided is only 9 minutes and 13 seconds. Why are over 2 minutes missing?

Furthermore, I have proof that I emailed to cancel as early as 26 March 2024 due to personal hardship. Instead of honoring the verbal refund promise made during the sale, they ignored my written requests and pressured me into "activating" courses to void my rights. They are now offering a "partial refund" only because I have taken them to court. I am continuing my claim for a full refund through the Court and the Financial Ombudsman.

I had a good experience with e- careers…

I had a good experience with e- careers from the very start, James one of the agents was very helpful took his time to explain me thoroughly about the course and answered every single question that I had, thanks to that and obviously my own dedication I past my level 3 on HR and I’m working already and because I really enjoy my new role I decided to do the level 5 which I already started. Is a great experience just need time , consistency, patience and dedication. 😊
