DO NOT USE for Domestic Shared Party Walls
We were recommended the person who appears on the glossy brochure, he sent a member of his team and it however it has been the most unprofessional and dishonest experience we have experienced. The surveyor turned up with nothing, no plans (which we had emailed), no equipment and took photos with his phone. The neighbour hired a surveyor who had been recommended (from people we don’t really know well. We had a nightmare experience with the neighbour's builders and also with the surveyors who were supposed to champion and safeguard our interests. Our emails were ignored for weeks (we copied multiple people) and when they were responded to they were either asking for information that we had already sent, stating that the problem had been resolved?? or telling us to wait for the end of the building experience to address all of the issues.
It has been insulting to tell us that they inspect the work on the roof from the street and that if we want to have the work checked we will have to pay £500 extra. Our roof was not supposed to be touched per the plans and agreement and the neighbours have clearly removed tiles and materials and also done some overlapping works which was not outlined and should not have happened. This can be seen without close inspection. Also the guttering is damaged and we now have water ingress and damage in our kitchen that was not there prior. They refuse to deal with anything. We are going through a very stressful family time and this is something that should not have happened.
The photos that they have sent us are blurry and they say that everything is exactly the same as before. Even from our photos you can see that is not and we have evidence of damage and the mess that they left behind. It feels like the neighbour (a property developer) might actually be their client.
AVOID this company at all costs. It has been unprofessional and very lazy in our opinion. Surveyors do not have a great reputation and we chose them because we wanted the technical knowledge to appraise the works carried out. For shared Party Walls, I would recommend a Law firm or a trusted builder who can redress problems and bill the party that caused the problems and have this included in the agreement. I hope this helps
