A truly terrible experience

A terrible experience. I did not immediately have enough money on my credit cards for the deposit, so I had to move money into those accounts. But it can take up to 2 hours.
However, I was told that my rental would only be open for 2 hours after the stated booking time. With my flight being an hour late, this meant I could not use my credit card.
But they would receive a debit card deposit if I bought insurance with them for over 200 Euros. Insurance that I did not need as I am a regular renter of cars, I have an annual policy for car hires.

So this was a total waste of money.

There seems no reason, other than to be exploited to take a credit card payment for the deposit. Especially when it suits them to take a debit card deposit if they can take money from you for no benefit.
