I've been using Ecwid for a year now for my clients

I’ve been using Ecwid for over a year now, and I can confidently say I highly recommend it. Their platform is excellent, and their customer service responds to emails within 24 hours. They constantly add new features—almost weekly—working hard to enhance the eCommerce experience. I always recommend Ecwid to my friends and colleagues.

What I love:
• Outstanding customer service
• Extremely easy to use—adding and managing products is simple
• Quick and easy instant site creation, with pages and sections
• Fast customer notification emails
• Mobile app is excellent and makes order management simple
• Smooth integration with Zapier, ShipStation, and other apps
• Fast site loading times; catalog uses Ajax for smoother performance
• Easy and visually appealing page section customization
• Great mobile responsiveness
• Abandoned cart management is simple
• Intuitive site appearance and content management
• Easy to configure and edit payment and shipping options
• Customer-friendly cart and checkout, with working tracking
• Options for regional and multilingual websites (not using personally, but great feature)
• Easy management and editing of store labels

Feedback / Suggestions:
• Create a dedicated blog section instead of using product categories for articles

I've used ECWID for 10+ years...no more!

I've used ECWID for 10+ years. They were good and reliable...and then Lightspeed took over.

Since then, it's been problem after problem after problem.

- Poor performance.
- Broken elements without me knowing.
- Their staff accessing my site's payment settings and changing them without my permission.
- Extensive downtime.
- Pages not loading.
- MASSIVE price increase.

But what just did it for me is noticing they've now plastered a "Powered by Lightspeed" logo on ALL my product pages!!! WHAT? They didn't tell or ask me!!!!!

I'm furious about this.

I'll be speaking with them tomorrow to discuss how they think this is acceptable.

Discount system broken for months

This shopping cart has no option to prevent customers from using discount codes on top of other promotions. For example, if you run a Black Friday or Boxing Day sale, and you have given out coupon codes, customers can use the coupon code on top of the seasonal promotion, and there is no setting to prevent them doing so.

This is incredibly dumb, the option to prevent discount codes stacking with other discounts is a basic feature of every shopping cart. To not have this option effectively makes the discounts system useless, or you have to accept that customers will double up on discounts.

We reported this months ago, and customer support response is still that they are awaiting interest from other customers to see if it needs implementing. I am absolutely certain that every Ecwid customer who uses discount codes and seasonal promotions will want this option implementing, most probably aren't even aware that their customers can double up on both discoutns at once, because not being able to do so it the norm.

Please do avoid this platform.
Issues includes syncing with facebook/instagram - existing for over a year and they have still not fixed. Several temp workarounds but really not working seemlessly.
Issues working with the plugin in ecwid - continually failing making with time consuming issues with small product links with blogs and ecwid - broken links - constantly being emailed by fasthost and google with issues about links that have been broken with ecwid. Only 12 months ago was £30ish per month continually going up in price and now a massive £55 and it does not work properly!!!!! Time consuming for small businesses constantly having to address issues. Recently I got messages constantly with security risks on the plugin on my site. All of their making - taking up all of my time. AVOID

This is definitely not the experience we want for our users, and we take your concerns very seriously. I've carefully reviewed your past interactions with our support team, and I want to provide an update on how we've addressed or are currently addressing them. For the issue with Facebook, our team asked for additional details to report to our developers. We haven't yet received that information, but if you're able to provide it, we're ready to escalate this for a fix.

As for the problem with the product card widget on Wordpress, it is assigned to a developer and should be fixed soon. Regarding the broken links issue, we investigated it and provided an explanation of the cause, along with an instruction on how to fix it. And for the security risks of our plugin, we have implemented a fix in version 7.0.1, and it has been confirmed by the Fasthosts team.

Regarding our pricing, we understand that price increase can be concerning. We increased our prices to grow our platform and continue adding more value and functionality to merchants using our platform. We did not make this decision lightly and without much consideration.

We are committed to providing a reliable and efficient platform for all our users, and we are genuinely sorry that we have fallen short in your experience. If one day you decide to give Ecwid a second chance – we will be happy to see you again.

Setting up my online store through…

Setting up my online store through Ecwid was one of the smoothest experiences I’ve had in e-commerce. As someone who knows the value of getting up and running fast, I appreciated how intuitive their platform was from the start.

Their tools made it easy to showcase my products, build a clean-looking storefront, and connect everything seamlessly—without needing to be a tech expert. The support I received along the way was prompt and genuinely helpful, guiding me through a couple of setup questions and helping me understand how to optimize my store's potential.

This review is about their CS

This review is about their CS. I tried Ecwid a year or so ago, but I ultimately didn't use it. I was charged this morning for a whole year ($300) and panicked, as I didn't remember having an account with them or ever using their service (I had never set it up when I tried it). I wrote customer service asking if I could at least get my account cancelled, since I couldn't figure out what email I used, but I wasn't thrilled I was charged for a full year when I didn't think I used their service. The CS team (his name was Wade, just to call him out for what a good job he did), wrote back promptly, refunded me, and cancelled the subscription. I love companies that aren't jerks to their customers and are prompt and considerate when these sorts of things happen. I didn't use their service, but I would come back in the future just for this customer service alone. It is 100% the way to be. Thank you so much for being an honest and genuine company. I recommend them for this alone.

Ecwid has proved to be the best shopping cart!

Ecwid has proved to be the best shopping cart system. I discovered them after I'd tried several others, and each of those disappointed me. The support staff are my most used point of contact, and they have walked me through several situations with great grace and patience! I've learned a lot from Ecwid and like their way of having answers, or creating a new one if needed! Began 9.22.22

Ecwid does not offer the simple ability…

Ecwid does not offer the simple ability to authorize a transaction for later capture or void. This is very important because more and more payment processing companies including PayPal do not refund transactions fees which is about 3% so if you have an order cancelled for any reason you lose the transaction fee for that amount since you don’t have the ability to simply void that transaction. This feature is offered for free with all other major site builders including shopify, Bigcommerce and etc

How to close an account?

Reply: No, it's wrong, before posting this review i googled and used ecwid help. Said the same, login>my profile>profile. But there is no such an option to close an account. Contacted support via chat, she/he was unable to help me with this matter. Pitty I can not attach screenshot here or chat transcription.

Avoid ECWID for ticket selling - not fit for purpose

I'm sure it works ok for selling physical product but it has a major flaw - it can't sell tickets for events, except one at a time. (User buys two tickets, gets one PDF - no way to provide two, or however many). Yes there is a huge manual workaround incliuding capturing names and manually generating individual tickets. But it's NOT a proper solution to issuing tickets. Their marketing BS claims it can be used for this, but not without huge manual workarounds like manually generating every ticket with a barcode one at a time at a computer, or requiring users to print off the order, which is not a ticket (and in which case, what on earth is the PDF for?)

The customer service at Ecwid is great especially the response time I recommend Ecwid to everyone.It is so easy to navigate my site especially as a beginner and Ecwid integrates well with other tools which is awesome!

Ecwid Held My Funds Hostage, Ignored My Refund Requests & Damaged My Business

I changed my website name months ago, and Ecwid never informed me it would be an issue. When I started actively marketing and made a sale, they held my customer’s payment hostage while still taking their percentage. I had to chase them to find out why my funds were blocked.

Despite explaining that I needed two weeks to fulfill the order (which they could clearly see), Ecwid ignored my refund requests. Instead, they delayed the funds until only 3 days remained, leaving me with no time to order raw materials from overseas. This left my customer thinking I was just inefficient, damaging my business credibility.

When I asked again for a refund, Ecwid completely ignored my messages and even marked my complaint as “solved” without responding!

Ecwid’s actions were unprofessional, deceptive, and damaging to my brand. Avoid them at all costs if you care about your business reputation and want efficient and effective customer service.

I lost all of my customers and my business.

After making the switch to Ecwid I lost all of my readers and customers. None of them felt that they could trust Ecwid. Ecwid was not at all helpful. In the end I had to close my business of seven years. Now, with a few months left on this subscription, I find out that all of the useful features have been hid behind a second upgrade. And that upgrade costs a fortune. With the ‘sell on Google’ option, the help pages lead nowhere (misdirected) and the information available is five years old.

Keep your money and find an option that both you and your customers can trust. Ecwid is not it.

My ecwid experience

My experience has been very interesting along road. Being my first shop it was difficult at first. But i found lots of very helpful articles, videos, search engine through out thier platform. Lots of Configuration, many ways to make your shop look very neat, in different styles, in different departments of your shop, arrangement of products, took me along time cause it was new for me and i was taking my time with all information on how to do things on the site.

It's alot, I mean alot of reading and important information to help you along if you got stuck, I did many times. But patient is the key! I'm very happy with my results, made my first sale this month! The 12th

Use Ewcid

I don't like computers, therefore I'm bad at them. Ewcid makes a chore I don't like far easier on me. It's the most user friendly, and person available website builder Ive used. I've been using Ecwid since August 2024 after a disastrous run around with WISHPOND. I liked working with the Ecwid store which I had to totally revamp from the useless mess WISHPOND made and when I learned I could build my own website with the same platform I did it.
