EMH - No Respect For Freeholders!

I am a homeowner, I live in a mid-terraced property, my neighbour is an EMH tenant. In February EMH arrived to externally insulate her home. The first day one of their contractors threw a piece of wood from scaffolding that hit my car, the second day a piece of down pipe from her property, landed in my back garden. It’s a foot long and weighty. I complained to EMH. The next day they removed, from my property a down pipe that served mine and my neighbours roof. There was no warning, no consultation, no discussion about when or how it would be reinstated. Four weeks later it was clear the intention was to relocate the down pipe on my neighbours property. That left me with a patch of unpainted render and and stripe of white paint on my property. They suggested having two down pipes adjacent to each other, an offer I refused (neither I nor their tenant wanted this ‘solution’). They refused to paint the entire area of the front of my house. In the end I supplied masonry paint for them to apply to the outside of my property (in a six inch strip) - of course, it doesn’t match the rest of my painted rendered property. So I ve been left out of pocket - and now have to pay to have the entire front of my house repainted. I complained, using their complaints procedure. Every issue I raised they found in my favour and apologised, that’s it. I’ve no further redress through them as I am not a tenant. I don’t have the funds to sue them.
My advice - don’t purchase a property adjacent to a house owned by East Midlands Homes!

My heating failed at weekend

My heating failed at weekend. So no hot water or heating. Stayed in Monday, Tuesday, Wed but no one came. Told someone would come today 10 to 1 but now 1:30 and no visit yet. Pheonix gas can't get through on phone to. I have health issues but emh don't seem to care. Pheonix based in stoke but me in northampton and not many engineers and they seem to go home 3pm.

My pump failed last October and only fixed January. 4 times pheonix never came. Now combi not working and pump on all time. Bad install as they pump condensate up into loft

I purchased a shared ownership from…

I purchased a shared ownership from these corrupt people. Worse thing I ever did! They lie about everything. All nice when purchasing- then everything changes! Speak to you like you are something they trod in. Their complaints procedures are a waste of time as they just mark their own homework. Luckily after just over three years I sold it. They made me ill. I took them to the Ombudsmen and I won! Even then these bullies tried not to pay out my Compensation that was awarded! The most laughable thing is their CEO has an OBE for services to housing! What joke! To anyone I would advise you go to the Ombudsmen. Just a bunch of legalised bullies!

Worst company ever 9 days without…

Worst company ever 9 days without heating or hot water now and 3 days without shower 65 and 67 year old one disabled one with on going mental health issues. spent 20 hours plus on the phone e mailed also got nowhere dont give a dam about there customers. was promised 2 parts for my boiler were in stock man came out put one part in then told me no other part in stock threw a fit when he lost the keys to his van dragging front of boiler on my lino, was promised heater Friday after finding out that day i could get vouchers for the cost of extra heating
that they forgot to tell me on the fist day spent 3 hours on hold trying to get out of hours to bring the heater was then told i wasnt getting any. been in bed since then as to ill to get up been treated worse than an animal will be getting more advice from ombudsman tomorrow

Would give less stars if I could

Would give less stars if I could, you horrible bunch of corrupt lying rats! How many times can a workman have a car crash? How many more excuses and lies do you want to conjure up, the company needs suing. Making people wait in all day for non existent repairs, who on earth do you think you are! I really do believe council housed people are not even considered as human at this point, vile horrible treatment from everyone involved from the phone workers to the bosses, F the lot of you I hope someone sh*ts in your breakfast !!!!

Emh homes is an absolute joke of a company on the 28th of September my boiler failed and I have been told I have to wait till 1st of October for it to be fixed despite having and 8 month old poorly baby and 2 other children with asthma and won't get my boiler fixed until 8-5 31st of September. And yes I live in one of there poorly maintained homes

Vandalisation doesn't cover this

Vandalisation, fly tipping and abusive staff . You have sent four vans to a block of flats which they are blocking the entire car park then decided not to run to skip instead use our entire front garden as your own personal dumping ground leaving this s*** here since Thursday it is now Monday your staff have basically gave me abuse after asking whether they're going to clean it up . The entire communal area inside from carpets to walls have all got marks dust screws furniture everything dumped here to your staff. It is health and safety and a fire safety violation . If this matter isn't dealt with immediately I will personally make sure every residence in this block sues emh houses

Avoid if you can

Avoid if you can. They take no accountability, ownership or responsibility for anything. Despite having a duty of care, they don’t care. They fob you off, lie and deny and don’t provide a service at all. Not one iota given for any of their tenants and they talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.

Had an issue with my shower not working…

Had an issue with my shower not working October 23, 1st new one did not work, 2nd you had to stand with your finger on the button for it 2 work. 3rd stopped working, had been broken when fitted so was repaired. February 24, shower issues again, came said it needed a new, different engineer called back next day, didn't fit a new one just repaired. This week shower failed again spray out scalding water. I work full time and they will not come on a Saturday to sort. I have taken so many days off either wither with out pay or holidays for repairs and they haven't turned up. I have a wet room, no bath and because of mobility cannot not even get onto a bath. They just don't care

Disgraceful!

Left an elderly, vulnerable and unwell 89 year old tenant without heat or hot water for the 2nd time, when they refused to come out in an emergency situation. Total failure of duty of care towards their tenant. Tenant was left freezing all night!

Shocking company for repairs

Shocking company for repairs. I have had someone out 6 times to fix a boiler with no hot water or heating that still isn’t fixed, that has to be reset multiple times a day to be able to get heating & hot water for barely an hour, they just change a part every time that breaks within the next month. I’ve had an engineer break my door when fitting a draft excluder & leave without telling me then having an emergency call out to repair as it wouldn’t shut to say I need a whole new door yet customer services don’t have a clue regarding the issue even weeks later. I have a whole side of my fence I reported 8 months ago that had collapsed through and bits flying off during the wind that is yet to be fixed & again customer services can’t tell you anything. You have to call constantly in hope atleast 1 of the customer service team will have a clue what you’re repair is & actually be able to help & you’re lucky if they answer within the hour. It’s just an awful company if you require any repairs.

Awful service with these people

Awful service with these people, purchased a full ownership property from them last year, on first inspection the house was in horrendous state, lots of defects/damage and appalling finish to paint work througout, dirty builders mess everywhere, 4 months on from completion and hardly any snags have been repaired and I'm now being told to go through complaints process!
When I had asked for the property to be put straight before I completed they just offered my deposit back as they didnt want to handle the issues, they then lied and said they had been in put things straight when they hadn't.
Toilet weren't even fixed to the floor.
Iv been left with leaking windows, cut holes in carpets, damage to outside of windows, scratches all over worktop...
Not happy at all and would not recommend to buy from this company!

Slum landlord

SLUM LANDLORD. ..who are not accountable, as you can clearly see they do not claim this profile nor ask for reviews. Well judging by my experience as a tenant of theirs ( sadly ) I can completely understand why ( They do not like to be challenged and are not interested in good relations or honesty at all ) The whole company is full of lies and false promises and they consistently make appointments that they do not intend keeping whilst leaving you sitting around waiting for them. IGNORANT AND RUDE. They do not treat emergencies as such either and when they do eventually repair something often cause further problems by botching the job. Terrible communication and organisation and nobody takes ownership of difficult problems. They also lack a thorough knowledge of housing law and you literally have to hound them to get a reaction. Very poor sub standard housing association that pretend they are amazing and yet nothing functions properly from the staff to the poor response times, the health and safety and the reactionary and poor maintenance procedures. They clearly need a new direction and a thorough re maintenance programme to bring their awful housing stock and staff up to date!
Their useful? myhomeonline is always playing up too, so looks like they don't bother with their I.T either(...even though they tell you to get in touch this way. SORT IT OUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
How this lot would ever cope in a real job I have no idea. The organisation appears nepotistic and there seems to be a culture of covering up for one another's constant lies and errors, getting paid to laugh at people essentially. JUST AWFUL.
For what it is worth I think the problem with their sincere lack of care towards their tenants is associated with the fact that they feel like they are giving you something, as in they somehow think you are subhuman as you live in social housing. The reality is the way they disrespect their own tenants is that they make themselves as such, they lack pride and dignity.
And as for their so called eco houses, they are just as expensive to live in and riddled with design flaws including a problem with mould and damp. These were built only on the basis of eco grants from the government, a sham and a complete waste of public money. They will be pulled down in 30 years!

Disgraceful Housing Association

Disgraceful Housing Association. Knowing I was a single Gay Man I was told I was just what they needed in an over 55s semi-rural complex. As established older residents passed away, EMH replaced them with men who had been released from prison for sex offences or with drug/alcohol issues. I became subject to a lot of homophobic abuse, both physical and verbal. Leics Police placed a Ring Doorbell to my front door to protect me, EMH ripped it off and left it shattered on the floor.

Shocking company who have no regard for…

Shocking company who have no regard for their clients. Left an 86 year old lady without heating now for a week. Promising it would be fixed on the Thursday, never happened, then the Friday they promised to be out and failed to show again, even after 3 seperate people calling to enquire. She now faces another weekend without heating.
