At this point no stars would be a accurate rating! As others have pointed out this once highly rated and reliable company has steadily deteriorated over the past year. Last order I was quoted $113 and was paid $5, these were 2022 review copies and when I inquired as to what they do with "worthless books" they told me they "recycle" them and if I wanted them back they would charge me $5? I was a long time customer and I politely ask them to waive the $5 charge and they refused. I will be doing business elsewhere from this point forward and I would advise others to do so also.

Increasingly in the last two years, my books somehow magically arrived damaged, missing, or with a completely different ISBN number. This all results in receiving no or very reduced compensation. I don't care they have been in business for 40 + years, it's still a SCAM. Find a different buyer, I have. DONE.

I have sold books off and on to FacultyBooks for 4-5 years. Never had a problem. Recently though they quietly changed their policies and I'd say they verge on criminal. After earning thousands of dollars selling to FacultyBooks they now keep your books even if they reject them. That is to say if you send in your books for buy back and they deem them not buyable, they just keep them (and sell them themselves) and do not return them to you. I am shocked that this is legal, but since the change I had about 90% of what I have sold, mysteriously deemed not to their criteria. save your time and have nothing to do with FacultyBook/Texas Book Company.

I have twice had them deeply discount books I sent claiming they were damaged in transit. This is after all the directions were followed and the packing accomplished exactly as they requested. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.By the time you have sent them there is no recourse as you cannot see the book to tell if they are damaged. Trusting their word has become problematic. Unfortunately they were at one time more honest. Books cannot be that damaged in transit. They also are the only ones who decide the new value.

I am glad to have found this company and have a colleague to thank for it. As a professor, I notice myself accumulating textbooks and finally decided I needed to consider selling. It was easy to enter my books ISBNs on the website and I received my boxes and packing supplies just a few days after I ordered them. (And BTW, I don't know of another company who does that! THANK YOU! I didn't have to spend a dime to ship my books!) I set up a direct deposit and was able to use a promo coupon that gave me extra money for doing so. The company paid me as stated. Flawless transaction. I will be back.
Promised $131 and paid $7. Scam. They are not at all legitimate. Know of two other sellers who had similar experience

Great source for instructors-the best I've found!

A good company for selling instructor's editions and other leftover textbooks. They don't always pay the best price, but they are very trustworthy. I always receive the quoted price, unlike some other textbook buyers. They even send you packing materials! Highly recommended.

I appreciate the availability of this service and the company's speed of payment, once books are received. However, the majority of times I have sold new (read: unused) books, all or part of my shipment has been downgraded to a less-than-new status and may payment reduced because of it.
They are fast and fair with their pricing, and the free boxes and shipping makes a big difference.

They were fast and efficient. Couldn't have been any easier.

Good site and services. An enhancement would be an app that scans the UPC vs. having to type in the ISBN to ascertain if available for purchase.
Terrible experience. They robbed me blind. The online quote was reasonable, but once they had my books, the check they issued was for a laughable amount. Customer service was no help. I will never use this site again.
