I would give them more than 4 stars

I would give them more than 4 stars, but I haven't yet taken my trip. They did handle an airline schedule change for me and got me on the flight I asked for. I was very concerned because I had connections to meet, otherwise there would have been signficant cost in covering change fees, extra hotel and meals, etc. I don't think I was difficult to deal with, but I certainly bugged them a lot about it and each time they were very re-assuring and confident that they would get the flight I needed. It just took some time to get an answer back from the airline and they had a whole plane load of people to re-book.

I have noticed a number of bad reviews …

I have noticed a number of bad reviews from people who have booked flights through faregeek.
I booked my last minute flight to New Zealand with them, just last week, and can honestly not fault them!
I saved half price fare compared with booking through the airline.
It was easy to book the tickets, pay for them on line and print the e ticket the following day from the email they sent. couldn't be simpler,!
I dont know what all the fuss is about?!
Well done Faregeek on a professional and easy to use flight booking service.

Helpful and prompt assistance.

After a rather difficult prior day's exercise in securing ticket information I dealt with Koby Walsh, who quickly cut through the tangle and provided the assistance I needed, and was most helpful and patient.

Charge heaven!!

Cannot believe how terrible this company is!

So I made my booking and made a couple of little errors, I accidentally put in the wrong date of birth and got two letter the wrong way round on the name of a passenger. Minor things that require minor amendment. I called up 10 mins after my booking to be told the date of birth was fixed, (I did not notice the wrong name at this time). I did not receive a new confirmation after 5 or 6 days so I chased it with them, they said that they had changed it and sent me a hand typed email to say it had been changed, nothing official though. I have been back and forth with their customer support over changing two letters from my name around so that it matches that of my passport, they have sent numerous generic replies to me and eventually after I requested to speak to a senior, they decided to try help me. Last night, I received an email saying the airline are charging £75 for the name amendment. I called the airline who are happy to change the name around for free. I have never experienced something so terrible! Stay clear of this company and pay extra so ANYTHING ELSE!

*************SSSCCCCCAAAAMMMM*********** …

*************SSSCCCCCAAAAMMMM***********
So I'm trying to change my flight because of an emergency I had at the last minute, had no choice but to change dates. I called faregeek and was directed to a man that when changing my dates, informed me of a $200 changing fee, and the difference in price of the tickets I was changing, that is acceptable. However it is beyond me, that my original ticket cost me $582, the new ticket with the same flight hours and the same airline, just different departure date, was $570 (the one i was looking at with the same times same airline just different departure date, and it had no sign of few seats avaliable) and they then tried charging me OVER $570 for a new departure date. If I'm doing my maths right, the flight I paid for originally was $10 MORE than the new one, that would mean at maximum the $200 changing fee, and maybe a small penalty for being a last minute ordeal. They were very tricky and not honest in their way of dealing with the issue, they wanted to charge an amount almost the same as the whole round trip ticket, when I was looking at their website while they spoke to me and saw that the flight THEY WANTED to book for me was not the cheapest one with the dates i asked for and the exact times. After the person whom spoke very accented English raised his tone at me, I asked for a supervisor, which they had me hold for over 10 minutes, just to be told that he was busy and he would call me in half an hour, and that in the mean time they would check with the airline. I accepted the deal, however I was not about to believe anything anymore, so I called the airline, and GUESS WHAT???? They charged me $200 minus $10 difference in tickets(in my favor) and a $50 fee for changing last minute. It cost me a total of $240, clearly at least $300 less than what this bad excuse of a company wanted to charge me. The supposed supervisor called me, and hung up on me, never to call me again. Is that how you treat your customers???? Next time try educating your call center in customer relations, and be honest about what you claim to be as a company and website(cheap flights? More like a scam).

Dear Keith,

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you have faced with your reservation booked through us. However, we would like to inform you that the Airlines practice the marketing concept known as yield management where they sell as many seats as they can at the highest price they can, hence the fares within a class of service i.e., economy, business and first class may vary depending upon the availability of seats.

We are also sorry to hear about your experience with our contact centre and the customer service staff which is of great concern to us and would be further investigating into this. May we kindly request you to kindly write to us at fares@faregeek.com and provide us with your booking details and a contact number in order to assist you further by having a supervisor assigned to investigate the complaint who would also get in touch with you for a better understanding of your complaint and addressing it at the earliest.

We once again appreciate your patience and look forward to hear from you soon.

Kind Regards,
Customer Service - Faregeek

Shocking customer experience

Following an attempt to purchase some flights recently with more than one credit card I had a card supposedly declined, however on dealing with the customer service team they were completely unable to help and despite several attempts to try and rectify the situation I had to persistently chase them up. I've made about 10 calls to them with promises of call backs which failed to materialise. Even after a promise the uphold the flights I'd booked at the price I was initially quoted they've now decided to refund the cards and not offer the deal. I've now just found they haven't even refunded the full amount. They might be a bit cheaper than other brands but after the experience I've had I would think very very carefully before using this company.

Dear Paul,

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response and the inconvenience caused. It appears that your booking couldn't be processed due to a declined credit card transaction. A credit card can decline due to a variety of reasons however in a majority of the cases it happens when the card company or the card issuing bank declines the payment that the merchant is trying to claim. Usually it takes 72 hours for the amount to reflect in your account in case of soft charge.

As indicated by yourselves that you've not received the funds back in your account, we request you to share your booking details at fares@faregeek.com along with your credit card statement indicating the charge for which the refund is expected, so that we may review this with your bank to have the soft charge reversed.

We look forward to hear from you. Please feel free to write to us at fares@faregeek.com

Sincerely Yours

Horrendous experience

Travelling to Australia for the first time to visit family. We bought 3 tickets with 3 separate cards, Travelpack insisting that one card has declined even though we have authorisation codes from all 3 banks saying payment was successful on all 3. Would not budge, saying its the banks fault, bank saying it's an issue with Travelpack, would not hold the flights long enough to wait until payment had cleared.

Had to ask for a refund, but they would not refund the supposedly 'declined' card even though the payment had taken. We are all now in limbo and can't book any more flights until this mess is sorted out and wait 10 working days until our money is back on our cards.

After telling our family we would be going to see them for Christmas, we then had to break everyone's spirits and tell them, a day after, that we no longer were. We lost the flights we wanted and will now have to pay top dollar elsewhere and may not be guaranteed the same times or even the same days. They lost out on over £4000 worth of business and ruined a special trip for us, due to their inept service. I will never use them ever again and will warn others not to either.

Hellish experience, customer service operators were not willing to help us out at all. It's our first time booking flights for such a long journey and it's likely to be my last thanks to travelpack!

I have just returned from the flights I booked with Faregeek, excellent service and reassurance from them after my credit card declined payment and then when I went to re-book they had gone up a huge amount. Credit card 0 Faregeek 10. I was worried after reading reviews but cannot fault them for service and price.

Was slightly anxious after seeing comments but Faregeek have been fantastic. Booked flights London to Las Vegas for half the price of booking direct with airline. Email received with booking reference several hours later, checked on airline website and all confirmed. Brilliant service

My wife booked tickets for me when my brother died unexpectedly. I was supposed to meet my sisters to scatter his ashes. However, one of my sisters couldn't get off work for the planned dates. I live-chatted with a representative from Faregeek (Koby), who quickly and easily canceled my reservation so I could book new dates. Such a relief at this difficult time. Thank you!

Has anyone ever dealt with this …

Has anyone ever dealt with this dreadful company? I booked and paid for two tickets to the USA 6 months ahead. Less than 24 hours later I received some disturbing news stopping us from going on our holiday I contacted faregeek but every excuse was used to not refund my money. I even contacted American Airlines who said that if I had booked with them direct they would happily have refunded my money -they explained that Fare geek buy a block of seats at a substantially reduced price and then sell them off to individuals like myself AA have nothing to do with the transaction. I spent nearly 3 hours on the phone trying to get my money back from these crooks but to no avail -Do not use these people you will find yourself out of pocket. One remark made to me by a guy called Jackson from the Company was Who is going to reimburse us if we refund your money-hadn't he thought of reselling the tickets he has 6 months to do it.

Dear Rosemary,

We understand that you are not happy with services provided to you. In reviewing your request, the airline fare rule indicates that the ticket is Non-Refundable. Although Non-Refundable tickets are the most economic ticket, they are also the most restrictive and do not allow the option for either refund or issuance of a travel voucher. These restrictions make it possible to continue to offer special sale fares in addition to our existing deeply discounted airfares.

Please note, refund restrictions & penalties are documented on our website. One must agree to these terms and conditions prior to booking any reservation by selecting "Yes" to our contract agreement. Once you decide to cancel a reservation, you are subject to the terms of the cancellation, as stated in our terms and conditions according to which most of the discounted fare tickets are non-refundable, however we would still be glad to discuss and take up your case with the concerned airlines to see if they can waive of the penalties as a one-time courtesy. The decision to waive of any penalties solely lies with the airlines and is at their discretion. May we request you to wait for 5-7 business days, after which we will get in touch with you to share the airlines response.

While we work and review your case with the airlines, we appreciate your patience and understanding. Please feel free to write to us at fares@faregeek.com for any further assistance required.

Sincerely Yours

I saved £400, I recommend fare geek

I have read some shocking reviews and some really good ones so I decided to take the risk and make my booking through fare geek. I booked London to Melbourne return with Qatar as they were offering the ticket for £400 less than direct through the airline. Great service, my bank initially blocked the payment so I received a call from fare geek. I gave the all clear to my bank and the payment was made and the airline confirmation issued very quickly. They didn't try to charge me any more or claim the ticket price had changed, it was all above board. I have since checked Qatar online and my reservation is there. I would definitely recommend this website.
