I took the trial week and then paid for a month's access but in all that time I have found very little concerning my family.
My family is mainly in South Africa and there's very little from there. SA is not even mentioned on the drop down lists yet many people emigrated there from the UK. The information I found I already had from other sites. I am so disappointed.

Excellent variety of hard to find genealogy records

FMP copies of documents, especially censuses are usually very clear.. better than many other sources. The transcriptions are on the whole more precise than others.
FMP searches are terrific for narrowing down to specific to eliminate the needed.

I can often find a BMD on FMP where it just doesn't 'pop up' on other sites. Its frustrating when you use identical data on both. Not being able to see the actual Baptism, Marriage or Death original document is also frustrating as so much is missing from the transcription.

This website provides access to an excellent collection of genealogical records, including records not available elsewhere, such as a fully digitized set of the Irish Quaker records.

Very helpful but not a fan of the verifying account step and if safe and human every time opening the app from the same device !!

I have found out so much about my ancestors from Findmypast. It is an amazing resource for geneology research

The only hints that are ever given are about betsy's side of the family I know where my mother came from and what her relationships were I have all that already. It's my father's side I'm looking for I don't have anything past him the things he said about where he was born and the brothers and sisters he said he had I can't prove they don't show up anyplace and neither does he on any census records or anything else.

Lots of original records so that I can see the entries myself and come to my own conclusions. There's a pretty good variety of records from different areas and the newspaper collection has been invaluable in fleshing out the lives of people beyond the basics.

Almost daily I have occasion to use findmypast, and am grateful for the opportunity to find information I can't locate anywhere else on line.

As most of my family (both sides), comes from Great Britain, it is extremely helpful that a majority of the birth index sources furnish the mother's maiden surname, even though it wasn't required until 1911. This has been a great value in assembling complete familys, proper placement, etc.

Hello Find My Past,
I very seldom write positive reviews. This one however, is an exception.
I help a lot of people with their Irish genealogy at no charge. Your Irish Roman Catholic Parish register search database at Find My Past (FMP), is fantastic in searching for Irish Catholic Church baptisms, marriages, and deaths/burials. There's nothing like it online, anywhere. It is an invaluable research tool. I use FMP all the time and have recommended FMP to hundreds of family historians over the years. Without bragging too much, I am FMP's best advertising agent, at no cost to FMP.
I especially like how FMP Catholic parish transcriptions are linked to copies of the original baptisms, marriages, and deaths held by the National Library of Ireland in Kildare Street, Dublin. I also recommend your subscription-based British military collection to people with Irish ancestors who were in the British Military. Otherwise they would have to hire an expensive genealogist to search military records for them at the National Archives of England in Kew, Surrey. Searching the myriad of British military records at Kew is a genealogical art form all in itself, and not for the faint of heart, or those with little patience.
I really do thank you FMP for being a great website for Irish genealogical research, especially researching church records that predate civil registration in Ireland.

I find it quite cumbersome to work with. Having tried the competition I am rather disappointed with the results I am getting. That may well be my own fault - I will need to gain more experience.

I found most of what I was looking for which is a good thing. It can be hard to find specific documents. I wish the search was a bit more detailed than it is.

I really appreciate having access to the Channel Islands records online!
