Really professional repair job
Really professional repair job after driver drove into the rear of my car. Obviously there were long delays in getting replacement parts but that was beyond their control. But I was kept informed if the progress of getting the parts and once arrived the work was carried out quickly and I was kept informed at each stage.

Fix Auto Ayr is an effective and friendly car repairer. I have had the same good experience twice in the last couple of months. Although I hope to avoid seeing them again in the near future. 1 star off because the first time around the online tool indicating percentage completeness of the job didn't tally with the actual state of completion and skewed my expectations.

They kept me informed about the process of my repair. but when I got my car back after repair my window doesn't go down so they never checked it after fixing the door panel. Not so happy about it 😕

All cars are Quality Control Checked before leaving our premises and there were no concerns regarding the window when it left. Hi Patrick,
Your vehicle came onsite with us as an undriveable vehicle which meant the vehicle would be with us longer than a pre booked vehicle which we did explain at the time of the initial referral from your insurer.
We collected your vehicle the next day and dropped off a courtesy car (2023 Seat Arona 5 Door) at no charge to yourself which your insurer does not pay us for. Your insurer requirements are for a small 5-door vehicle which the Seat Arona is a medium sized vehicle. Your insurer does not offer a like for like courtesy car as standard and we absorb the cost of providing the courtesy car which you were supplied for the duration your vehicle was onsite with us for repairs.
As your vehicle came onsite with us as an undriveable vehicle there was no estimate carried out prior to the vehicle coming onsite or any parts ordered which extended the length of time the vehicle was onsite with us which we did explain.
We kept you informed of the updates as soon as possible like when parts were ordered, and when they went onto backorder which we have no control over. Your insurer requires all of their vehicles to have ECD ( estimated completion dates) advised to customers as soon as the vehicle comes onsite. Normally customers would be provided with an ECD once we had all parts onsite and were then ready to start repairs, but your insurer require us to follow their processes which we have,
Once all the parts arrived onsite repairs were able to start, and the total repair time was 4 working days so total key to key time was 23 days for an undriveable vehicle with backorder parts.
We feel that your 1-star review is unjustified, but we will take onboard your feedback and review our processes where necessary.
We have no incentive to keep any customers vehicle onsite longer than it needs to be as we do not receive payment for the repairs until after a customer has their vehicle handed back to them.

In response to their reply - they were chosen by our insurance and didn't explain any delays - just laughed when asked if could be sooner than the 7 weeks it had taken to repair!

At the start of the repair process, we offered to carry out a temporary repair to make your vehicle driveable and provided a book in date to ensure your vehicle remained mobile. As this option was declined and the vehicle was not in use, we accommodated your later request to bring it in as an unroadworthy vehicle. As we explained at the time, this approach extended the overall repair time compared to the temporary repair option, which would have allowed us to order parts and prepare the repair in advance.
Additionally, the timing coincided with the summer holiday period, which impacted workshop capacity. While this was outside of our control, we recognise this may have contributed to the longer stay of your vehicle with us.
We appreciate your feedback and will use it to review and improve our processes where possible.
