I bought a gokotta 1p and used it on two treks gavarnie-mont perdu in the Pyrénées and landry-courmayeur-arolla. When in the hut du presset we got kind of a storm with snow and the tent survived ! One of my Best bus ever

Very disappointing customer experience – slow handling, no updates, and no compensation (order 4854FJE)

I ordered a waterproof jacket from Fjern Equipment on October 2nd. After hearing absolutely nothing for two weeks – no tracking updates, no shipping confirmation, nothing – I contacted them on October 16th. Only on October 20th did they tell me the item hadn’t even been shipped yet. Eighteen days had passed without anyone at Fjern noticing that something was wrong.

They told me it would finally be sent on October 22nd, but five days later there were still no updates or tracking information. On October 30th, after my third inquiry, the only response I received was to “be patient.”

Two weeks passed again without any progress. On November 11th I contacted them for the fourth time, and only then did Fjern start an investigation with the courier. On November 17th it turned out that this investigation led nowhere. The package had simply vanished. On November 18th, Fjern concluded the item was lost – and also no longer in stock.

Without consulting me, they refunded the order and treated the matter as closed. Just a brief “sorry,” no compensation, and no attempt to offer an alternative solution. I had been kept waiting for more than six weeks, and yet I was the one left with the consequences. They chose the courier, but I ended up paying the price for their poor logistics and lack of follow-up.

What made it worse is that when I pointed this out, I was told to just place a new order and “hope it would arrive.” Eventually I ordered a similar, updated jacket myself – only €20 more expensive – but Fjern didn’t offer to cover the difference or provide any goodwill gesture after such a long and frustrating process.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. No proactive communication, no responsibility taken, and no customer care whatsoever. I expected much better.

Used a Fjern Gokotta 1 tent on a backpacking trip into Kintail in September with gusty winds and heavy rain. Even after 22 hours of rain, the inside of the tent was completely dry, and I never felt cold. A great little piece of kit, but orient the end into the wind to minimise drag. At 1.1 kg (approx) it's really quite an excellent piece of kit.

Excellent walking socks that are competitively priced. I would say they are equal or better quality than many other brands, and seem to be hard-wearing as well.

Emails were answered very quickly and delivery (abroad) was very prompt.

The women's waterproof coat is the absolute worst coat any woman could buy. Do not buy it. My issues:

1. Size. I'm a womens 14 and I wouldn't consider myself so overweight that I don't fit mainstream clothing. This coat would have you thinking otherwise. The size large fits like a size S. I ordered a large because usually size L clothing has an oversized look on it which I prefer so I can layer. When layering this coat while in the peruvian andes, it fit very tight which I didn't like.
2. The hood. This hood would have you thinking this coat was made for women in the handmaid's tale. It's so big that it's borderline unsafe crossing the road because you can't even see from side to side. I figured out there's a string to pull to make it tighter but because there's so much fabric it just wrinkles up and looks ridiculous.
3. The zip. Beside the zip is a long piece of fabric so you can't move the zipper at all without the zip getting stuck. I dread the rain because I have to use this coat because It gets stuck every. Single. Time. All my life, a zip getging stuck was a rare occurance. Its Incredibly frustrating thaf it happens everytime I use this coat and because I'm so used to it I am extremely careful with it and have a method so icant stress enough how bad the coat design is that even with extreme caution the zip still gets stuck. Today I've hit my limit, it got stuck as it always does and the zip just came off. I thought that's a shame but the coat has too zips, surely that one was a backup for this happening ... well, the backup zip is basically there for decoration. I'm convinced this coat was designed by idiots, or sexist idiots, because my dad's Fjern coat has no issues.

If you're reading this, Fjern, yes, your coat design is so urterly terrible that I genuinely believe your designers must be mysognistic.

After a year of issues and only keeping it because I ordered it too close to my andes trip and didn't have time to buy another one, this coat is finally going to a charity shop, where it will likely sell for about £2 because its so terrible, or end up in landfill where it belongs (even though I'm a sustainable person and would never throw away clothes, this is where it deserves).

This is the second fjern jacket I have brought and extremely happy. The only way to perfection is for the jacket to have a chest pocket! I know this echoes other reviews. Is there a reason other than design?

Very easy website to navigate through and contained all the relevant information not just info to confuse customer.

Well designed tent using great materials. Only comment is the door would be better with a two way zip.

Great product and a super price. The jacket is made well and packs down for travelling. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Delivery was quick too.

Dear Fjorn. This will probably bi buried with all of the other reviews, but nevertheless....i think you could and should really improve some things, to grow some more.
First and foremost....you cannot send a 300$ jacket in a plastic bag...have you guys ever been to a delivery center...i have....do you think the people that work there, care, what's in a plastic bag that they bounce around the place?
The package was delivered to me in a patched up, been-to-war-like state.
I like your logo and your name. I like that right now, you're not mainstream. I have a jacket that not everyone has.
But my jacket has been bleeding feathers, more than my other jackets. Maybe that's something you could look into.
Also...the end of the sleeve is one whole bit, instead of the pattern of the stitching continuing all the way to the wrist. I prefer it to be all the same, not change the patterns ...maybe that's just me.
Also....i miss a chest pocket. Where do you guys put your phones??
The chest pocket is the closest and most practical to use.
I like your stuff...hope to buy some more.
