My go-to for handmade cards

Folksy always has a beautiful selection of handmade cards, and sellers who go above and beyond. I'm very happy with my customer experience and will be shopping here again!

I love Folksy because it's a site for…genuine British crafts people and artists

I do love Folksy because it's a site for genuine British handmade crafts, it's also a British run company and has a friendly community. You can rest assured you are buying hand crafted, hand painted, hand made. The only downside hence 4 instead of 5 stars is that it is not as well known as it could be. Hopefully that will change as more British creatives move to Folksy

Robbed

Appalling. Ordered a card from Kraken Cards via Folksy and it never arrived. Seller wouldn't respond to emails and Folksy claimed to be unable to help. I've been robbed, don't use.

Great admin support for sellers

Shout out to the admin team behind Folksy. I raised a query with them late Sunday evening, I received a helpful response early Monday morning, you can't ask more than that.
Having previous dealings with Etsy and spending weeks trying to get answers on issues that they were causing, makes me even more appreciative of the team behind Folksy.
It might not be on the scale of Etsy but I love the fact its for UK sellers only, but they have buyers worldwide. I also appreciate the fact that Folksy do not take a cut of the shipping unlike there competitor.
It's hard to bring traffic to your own website, so keeping my Folksy shop open alongside my own site and also trying to keep the social media going should hopefully work great for me.
Thanks again Folksy admin, you do a great job.

I like the website in gral.

I like the website in gral.
Just a few things to improve:
- The photos could be easier to watch. To pass from one to the next one could be more simple by having a "next arrow" or sliding the finger over the image to go to the next image.
i would like to add articles with the same characteristics but different colour within one category and not adding them as a totally different article.

I cancelled my subscription with them

I cancelled my subscription with them. They then went and took another months subscription from my bank . Not Happy !

It sounds like you might have cancelled your Plus subscription less than 3 working days before the payment was due to be charged and so the payment had already been submitted. Great place for British crafters to…

Great place for British crafters to sell. National and international sales which seamlessly combine with your Royal Mail account for easy postage.
Still a little clunky with no stock control at variation level and no month by month statements. There is an overall finance statement but this cannot be printed month by month for accounting purposes.
However, fees are sensible with no uplift on postage unlike the major marketplace, so these quirks can be overlooked.
You will not reach the markets that Etsy will so you will need a good website to allow linking back to your Folksy store.
Overall, I am happy.

Dont waste your time if you are a seller!

If you're a seller on Folksy, you may find that the site itself doesn't do much to generate traffic or orders for your products, despite the monthly fee of £7. While it's an okay platform to list your products, there are better shopping channels available if you're looking to attract more customers.

Hi Paul, thanks for your feedback. We are a much smaller site than our main competitor and we don't have a huge marketing budget. That said, we do work really hard on our SEO and are constantly tweaking things to make sure Folksy items and shops rank as highly as possible on Google and other search engines. We do also run PLAs (paid listing adverts on Google) for almost all products on Folksy - which we pay for. Around 35% of sales come from Google. Considering our size, and that we are British and not global, we do amazingly well.
