Thinking of becoming a seller, please think again.
I decided to join up as a seller on Folksy, I am also a seller on Etsy and Ebay,
Folksy site is very hard to use especially when you have a few hundred listings, there are no video functions to add to the adverts, if you want to do a shop sale you have to edit each and every advert, there is no search option to search a specific item in your shop, you have to search through page after page of your adverts to find the one you want.
If you don't promote your own shop sales on social media then you will get very few to no sales, on Etsy if you promote your shop and make a sale from the link you shared then you get the sale for free, Folksy still charge you for promoting your own sales. I made the mistake of paying £75 for the year and i really wish i hadn't bothered. Very dissapointed, I will be sticking to Etsy and Ebay from now on and will be leaving Folksy asap.

In terms of promotion, we are a much smaller site than our main competitor and we don't have a huge marketing budget. That said, we do work really hard on our SEO and are constantly tweaking things to make sure Folksy items and shops rank as highly as possible on Google and other search engines. We do also run PLAs (paid listing adverts on Google) for almost all products on Folksy - which we pay for. Around 35% of sales come from Google. Considering our size, and that we are British and not global, we do amazingly well.
Anniversary card
I ordered an anniversary card for my daughter and her husband. It was even nicer than I thought it would be. Arrived on time and was totally worth it

Nice and easy to set up as a seller, have pushed my products on many platforms but unfortunately not getting any sale, might just be me but at the moment struggling with i am going to keep going with the costs or go back to selling direct to people face to face.

Easy to list but there is no traffic to the site. No one I speak to knows what Folksy is. Bit of a waste of time.
Maybe in the future it will grow but Etsy is by far superior.

Received my first order through Folksy. Notification and order information were clear and I found the process quite straightforward.

What drew me to Folksy is its ethos -handmade only by UK sellers. Two weeks after joining I’ve had four sales. Couldn’t be happier. App easy to use and Folksy support friendly and responsive.

I am new to Folksy so was not sure how…
I am new to Folksy so was not sure how things would work regarding making sales but I had no need to worry, everything ran smoothly, I was informed immediately by email and paid promptly through PayPal. The sold items were automatically removed from my shop view and easily accessed as sold items.

Never received never contacted
Ordered items on the 10th of December for Christmas never received my items and never got to reply for the seller be very wary of this site had to go through PayPal refund. Customer support told me I had to go through PayPal and that was it until they actually replied to review 15th of May 5 months later what a joke

We did everything we could to help you with your missing order and we're sorry that our support didn't meet your expectations.
Genuine handmade crafts, lovely site!
Very nice looking and easy to use site. I would like to have the option to message the buyer to personalize their purchase, rather than just their email address. Feels like a nice size site with genuine hand crafted goods.
