I believe you are speaking about the Freewallet.org wallet, which is not open source, and is custodial (they hold your coins / funds).

Freewallet.io is an open source Bitcoin and Conterparty wallet which is non-custodial, and never has access to any of your coins / funds.

Absolutely scam put 100 dollars in could never get my account verified properly, zero customer services how this site is allowed function still is beyond reason and after all that they took all the money for inactive fees for an account that I couldn’t use because of them. Complete scam.

Thanks for your positive feedback. Unfortunately everyone who reports here confuses the two wallets and as a result, rates the wallet poorly rather than realizing their mistake and rating it honestly.

I will work on rebranding the wallet to a different name in the coming year.

Do not use freewallet

This page unfortunately is a scam. I am locked out of my wallet with no way of proving my actual identity. As they come up with a new way of proof they need after I send them the my data.
All while they charge a horrendous monthly fee that has already eaten about 30% of my original balance. Luckily I dont have that much money on freewallet but none the less, these people are very bad scammers.

Should be zero stars

Should be zero stars, no warning message or email/text to inform of inactivity and they will steal from your account for so called inactivity. The name FREEwallet is more than misleading and the owners should be in prison. Pure scam, stay away from it!

They stole my Cryptos without any information

After a few years I logged in and...surprise: My 0,59 Bitcoin Cash (actually Worth: 220,00 USD) are stolen by
declaration of inactivity fee. So...please don't use free wallet. It's a joke to call it FreeWallet. You have to imagine that. The credit is charged in full as an inactivity fee without having been informed about this fraudulent pricing model beforehand. Police report goes out.

Once again the saying comes true: "Not your keys, not your coins".

Same exact thing as everyone

Same exact thing as everyone. Deposited crypto no problem until you withdraw. Then they freeze your account and then drain your account for inactivity because your account is locked. They'll blame you for a million reasons even though you provide them with everything they asked.

Freewallet is a scam--do not use

Freewallet is a scam--do not use. I was a long time supporter and last year tried multiple times to open the app it would just spin. Today I opened it no problem with 0 balance. The app took all my coins for "inactivity fee" Now mind you how can there be a fee for the total balance across the board on several different crypto? Even Friend Coin, huh? DO NOT USE I lost all of my VeChain. I am demanding my coins back!!!
Thank you for the clarification but I am leaving this very important information up as to warn people. It is not too often that the same name like FREEWALLET is used twice. This will provide clarity when one signs up for their coin wallet. Thank you.

Why Freewallet is NOT a Web3 Wallet

Why Freewallet is NOT a Web3 Wallet as written on their page top left:
1. Custodial, Not Non-Custodial
• Web3 wallets like MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Phantom let you control your private keys.
• Freewallet holds the private keys for you, meaning they control your funds, not you.
2. No Direct Blockchain Interaction
• A real Web3 wallet connects directly to blockchain networks and dApps.
• Freewallet acts as an intermediary, meaning you don’t sign transactions yourself.
3. Requires KYC & Centralized Controls
• Many Web3 wallets are anonymous and don’t require personal information.
• Freewallet can freeze accounts and requires identity verification in some cases.
4. No Full Smart Contract Support
• True Web3 wallets interact with DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and DAOs.
• Freewallet lacks full smart contract functionality.

Conclusion:

Freewallet calling itself a “Web3 wallet” is misleading marketing. It’s really a custodial crypto wallet, more like an exchange wallet (e.g., Binance or Coinbase). If you want a true Web3 wallet, I’d recommend using MetaMask, Trust Wallet, or Ledger instead.
On top of that they are scammers, watch out what you download (their apps get thrown from the stores but they al lead to bytecoin, that has freewallet, changelly etc.

Why I want out from Freewallet

Contrary to their own T&Cs they sent no email notification when they changed their terms in Jan 2024 and started charging me 50USD a month for 'inactivity fees'. They assured me when I logged in on 15 Nov 2024 that my account was now considered active and no monthly fee would be charged (screenshot the chat). On 16 Nov I made a purchase that everyone concerned, except Freewallet, confirms was sent to my address. Freewallet acknowledge it in my History but not in my balance. On 18 Nov I tried to send assets out and they suspended my account due to 'suspicious activity'. Since then they have taken another 3 months of fees for being 'inactive'. Copious emails, messages on Telegram chat (where they confirmed I was now considered active and would not be subject to fees) all evidence of purchases, ID, personal information has gone to them and they delay and ignore, then delay even longer. They never addressed any question I posed to them through email - only made demands of what I must do to satisfy them. Will I get my purchase acknowledged? Will I get my assets back in my possession? Will I have the three months' of fees returned? I'm skeptical.
