Great Customer Service
I have ordered a few items for my husband and we have always loved the garments. This Christmas I didn't open up the package until Christmas eve when I was wrapping it and it turned out to be the wrong size. Customer service took care of me over and above even though it was past the refund time frame. Was an absolute pleasant experience. A company that actually cares about their customers!

Return policy unreasonably restrictive
Received an item as a gift and because of the short 10 day return policy, was unable to return since it was 6 days late. I was offered a 25% coupon on an additional order, which is useless based on my dissatisfaction of the company. Why would I order more?
The fit and shape of the sweater is also strange. It looks very inconsistently sew together where the waist is much smaller than the bottom.

NOT made from alpaca!
I ordered a jacket and a cardigan from Gamboafashion.com Both were in their Alpaca section and were described as being made from 100% alpaca. They have just arrived. Both items have tags saying they're made from alpaca. The one item is definitely 100 synthetic. It's horrible. The other one could be made from natural fibres or a mix of natural and synthetic fibres, but given that the other one clearly has never been near an alpaca I am very suspicious that the other really is made from 100% alpaca. As for being handmade, well who knows. I am waiting to hear back from the company. I am one very unhappy customer!

Unreasonable return policy
I bought my husband a cardigan for Christmas from Gamboa. (I could have purchased the same item from Amazon, and gotten free returns. Now I'm sorry I didn't do that.) I have a Gamboa sweater my husband gave me a couple of years ago, and it's lovely. Despite the company's strict return policy, I thought the sweater I ordered would be fine, based on the quality of the product I have. It's much thinner, and I'm not even sure I received the right size. I phoned the company, but didn't get a return call. I emailed, same result. Finally I responded to a promotional email. I got a stock response (it was written twice on the same message). I wrote back, explained the problems, and was given 2 choices: exchange, or keep the (cheap-looking) item, and get a discount on another item. I explained that without talking to someone, I wouldn't know if I were getting a heavier-weight sweater. I also explained that we're on a fixed income, and buying another product wasn't in our budget. The response: there are no exceptions to their policy. I will NEVER buy anything from this company again.

The same thing just happened to me. I also placed an order for a man poncho and paid more for faster shipping. Amazon shipping said my order was delivered, but it WAS NOT. I do not have my item and Gamboa is not offering any kind of compensation. This company does not care for customer satisfaction, it is the worst experience I've ever had.

I have been a customer for over 20 years with Panama Hat which is now GamboaFashion. I’ve have bought over 15 hats. They were all excellent until this last one.
