Used the new MID stay carpark at Gatwick
Used the new MID stay carpark at Gatwick.
The carpark is great location, convenient and large spaces. The entire place is automated for entry and exit speeding up the process of dealing with barriers etc on our exit a commented to my wife how great that was..... (foreshowing incoming).
Whilst booking i made an error (probably rushing) and stated return time of 2:30 not 14:30, we left the carpark with what we thought was plenty of time around 13:45..... no barriers no information screen leaving the carpark.
One week later i find an email in my spam folder stating the obvious error i made. After kicking myself for being an idiot i read that i had 48hrs to pay the overstay which of course having found the email in spam folder had expired.
Whilst i had a great experience and fully admitted to the error on my part i was charged a higher fine (double) due to not paying within 48hrs. If you compare this to typical paper fines for parking they would give you 14days to pay the reduced fine and typical CCTV car parks would provide longer due to things like emails or letters taking time to get noticed.
I feel the 48hrs is completely unreasonable given the last thing people do when they get back from holiday is check their spam folders. Whilst the new barrierless system is great an older system would have flagged the error on the spot. I think this needs some consideration for future users of this carpark.
I would indeed recommend this carpark but i would recommend double checking after you leave as notification of overstay and timeframes do not follow typical carparks.

I use the long stay parking on a regular basis and have no issue. I recently mistakenly booked the wrong terminal but the staff we understanding and moved my booking to the correct terminal. Great service all round.

Convenient car parking option
We used the Gatwick Long stay car park in July for one week and found it really convenient. It was easy to book and very close to the airport. It felt safe and left us with confidence whilst we were away on our holiday.

Straight forward to use
Straight forward to use, some users on our flight booked parking base on the flight times and as the return was 23:30 and they didnt collect their car until 00:30 the fell foul of a late collection charge of £15, not an issue if you put in a realistic collection time.

First time using the official Gatwick…
First time using the official Gatwick parking and it was so easy and seamless. Someone waiting already, just leave your key and that’s it. Coming back was just as easy. We had a night flight, which was also delayed, car was ready for us to collect. No waiting for buses with luggage and tired kids. Paying the extra is very much worth paying.

EV summer saver saviour
I booked summer saver but messed up as forgot keycard for my EV.The people there told me to go park in long stay and sort out from there which I did as no time to waste.I emailed customer services who told me to speak with them at the exit on my return from holiday.I must admit I thought it was going to be a battle, especially when I got to the gate and it came up as £390 !But the guy just asked for my reg and saw i had booked the summer saver and let me through, thank god.
Therefore I must say for once that customer service has been first class and thank you all at Gatwick Parking.

Valet parking was so easy
Valet parking was so easy. No worrying about getting from the car to the terminal like with other parking companies.
We drove into the car park, followed the signs and the staff member guided us to a parking space. The terminal was a minutes walk away.
On the return we picked up our key at the valet parking office and we were on our way home in minutes! Will use again, yes it was more expensive then other parking but after a long flight home this just made the journey easier.
