I am very suprised by this company

I am very suprised by this company. I am invested in many p2p pages, but bondora is by far the most reliable one, and the one with the least losses. At first, I was a little bit scared off, because there is no buyback gurantee, as with other pages. But after many months I can say, there is no need to. Buyback gurantees give you only a wrong feeling of safety. And bondora definitely does not want to do that, because they seem to really care about their customers and try to be as transparent as possible. Even in covid crisis, they are performing as I would like them to do. Big Thump up!

I was an early lender

I was an early lender. All went really well at first but for over 2 years now I have been trying to sell off old bad loans at a 50% discount. Out of around €40,000 originally invested I have had an overall loss of €8,555. Now things have got worse. Despite having provided proper ID when setting up the account, in order to withdraw they are presenting a ridiculous "Know Your Customer" form which keeps failing to save. I say ridiculous because it just asks my occupation and address which they have on the ID. So anyway now I can't withdraw any money. I tried calling the UK phone number but all that does now is give a voice message saying to go online. I sent an email to investor@ but the email is bouncing. No other contact details on their website. No chat. Nothing. Terrible.

Postscript: As a result of the above review, the staff at Bondora reached out to me and resolved the phone number issue which enabled me to draw down the cash I wanted. My suspicion is that there was some sort of cacheing issue with my changed phone number. Not sure if they resolved the fact that I could not email them via Gmail as we communicated via Outlook in the end. I am sorry but although the members of staff were very positive, the losses I have suffered can not be changed. If this is to be an honest review adjustment, I have to leave that bit in. For that reason alone I can only change from 1 star to 2 stars.

More.... in regards to Bondora's reponse, the KYC form was failing, hence my complaint. Now worked. Also I had left my bad debts in Bondora and checked every month. I had decided to sell at a discount because they were not being resolved with the borrowers. Many show the last payment date as 2018. Maybe Bondora handle more recent bad debts better but mine are mainly old ones now with many loans from 2015 with more or less zero ever paid by the borrower.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for leaving us a review.

First of all, we're sorry to hear that you were having difficulty contacting us. We requested that our service provider double check this and make sure to add your email address to our whitelist to aid in the delivery of your emails. We are sorry for the inconvenience that happened. The issue has been resolved and we have been in contact with you regarding your other concerns.

In order to protect our customers’ investments, we must contribute toward building a stable and transparent financial system. This among other principles means complying with different Anti Money Laundering (AML) rules. As a result we ask all of our customers to complete the Know Your Customer form.

We hope to reassure you that our dedicated debt collection and recovery team is working on the delinquent loan cases on a daily basis to recover as much of the amounts owed to investors as possible. For the 8th month in a row this September, Bondora successfully increased the recoveries & collection of unpaid loan. You can view more about this on our blog.

Regarding the liquidating of investments, we would not recommend the quick selling or selling with discounts as the only way to make sure you do not damage your returns when existing is by stopping reinvestment and running off your portfolio, taking cash out as loans are repaid on a monthly basis. We have covered this topic in our blog and support articles to help our investors make informed decisions about their investments.

I hope this clarified a few things for you. As a long term customer, we hope that you will be satisfied with your returns in the future.

If you have any outstanding concerns, please feel free to reach back out to us and we will gladly assist you.

Kind regards,

Awesome experience with Go & Grow

I love how easy it is to invest with Bondora Go & Grow. I have had nothing but an amazing experience so far. I had to withdraw some money during the crisis and haven't had any issues with that as well. The money arrived in a day and since then, my Go & Grow portfolio has only grown.

I hope Bondora will keep doing such a great job making investing so easy.

You don't earn money with bondora

You don't earn money with bondora. As soon as you stop investing it goes downhill.

Spanish and Finnish were always crap but even just with estonian loans and maximum of diversification with 600 small loans you might be lucky to get 0 % out of it.

Bondora sees a 5 year old credit, which never paid since 2 and a half years still as 50 % current. That gives you an idea how well constructed bondora is. And if you invest regulary, like bondora recommends you will never see the downwards trend because your new loans will counterbalance the many red and orange ones.

Also the amount of loans with "criminal case" in my porfolio is mindblowing.

G&G works better as long as new investors keep the snowball system intact as the same trash loans are in the G&G Portfolio.

Ohh and don't get me started with the referal system. Bondora will find an excuse (like that using your bank account for tranfering money to your mothers account to fasten the process) do not pay your bonus if you are a weakling like me and actually recommended bondora to some family members - before you knew how bondora actually works. Recommendation to an independent user should be the goal and focus of bondora right? If you are afraid, that your referal system will be abused then just don't offer it.

Some statistics which may be of interest for you:

An interesting graph from Bondora's statistics page that has been underutilized by investors shows cumulative cash on cash return over time (€100 given out and how much principal + interest has been received back).
Each line represents cashflow for a different month where at least 200 loans with 36-month duration were issued.
As of today, not a single month has reached 100%. In other words, investors have been losing money with 36-month loans so far.
Best result is July 2016, which has reached 97.88% at month 50. Investors who put in €100, have gotten back €97.88 after more than 4 years and probably paid tax on interest as well.
Same graph for 60-month loans looks a little bit better. There are two months that have reached above 100%. Nov and Dec of 2014. Nothing to be excited about though.
Everything else is below 100%. Many even considerably. April 2015 for example has reached 76% at month 65.

Unfortunately no direct link is possible to show you the graphs taken from bondora itself, according to trustpilots guidelines, which limits somewhat the weight of trustpilots reviews.

Hi Norbert,

We’re sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with your experience at Bondora.

The referral program is an exciting initiative for investors to earn money. We do have terms and conditions to ensure that the program is fair for all investors and isn’t abused. Please note that if an investor violates the terms and conditions of the referral program, he/she is not eligible for a bonus.

All Bondora loans are unsecured personal loans without guarantees. However, we do provide loan data and public statistics like you mentioned to help our investors develop a strategy that works best for them.

While every step is taken to ensure all borrowers will make their repayments, from time to time they may unfortunately fall behind with their monthly commitments. This can be for a number of reasons, like losing their job or a significant change in their personal circumstances.

To recover non-performing loans, Bondora has developed a standardized, largely automated collection process that is used across all markets with only minor differences. The process is continued until the full overdue amount is covered or the claim is written off. And we’ve made great strides. The recoveries are up for the 6th month in a row!

The Go & Grow return rate is up to 6.75%. The current return rate is displayed on the Go & Grow page so investors are up-to-date.

We hope this clarifies a few things for you.

We have also sent you a follow-up email to request additional information to address your concerns. Please reply to our email at your earliest convenience.

Thank you!

Works perfect

I use it for a couple of months now and it works perfect, just as described. Easy to use and instant withdrawals. Even through the crisis only the described partly payouts and no other issues.

Nothing to report, everything working perfectly.

I have been investing in Bondora for 3 months. I use Go&Grow and was referred by a friend, that let me earn a 5€ bonus (which they immediately deposit in my account).
Until now nothing to say, everyday they deposit the interest in my account and as the time goes by my confidence in this platform is improving which let me compound the account and invest every month.
In my opinion is a great way to invest your money with safety and a good return.

Expected a really bad experience, was pleasantly surprised

I got on Bondora through an online ad about a year ago. Over the last 4 months money transfers worked very good and were credited to my account balance the next day. But I started reading the reviews a couple of days ago (in retrospect, I should have done that prior to putting any money into a Bondora account) and the negative ones got me really freaked.

It is one thing losing money to a bad investment as a consequence of a bad decision, but it is quite different not being able to get to your money that is sitting in your account (as some have stated here, they couldn't get to it, some had to wait for incremental transactions for weeks etc.). I was aware though that due to the covid-19 state of affairs it could be difficult for Bondora to have a large enough cash buffer to promptly meet all the redemptions out of fear.

So, reading all the negative reviews I decided to pull my cca. 3.000 € out all in one go, and test the withdrawal process at the same time. I was expecting a long KYC verification process but it was a matter of minutes. Just upload a picture and wait.

When it came to withdrawing the actual money it was instantly transferred from my G&G to my main account in its entirety. Your experience could, of course, be different, but mine was flawless. After that I tried to withdraw the money to my bank account, but was only offered the option to transfer the money to an already cancelled credit card and only 10 € at a time.

I emailed their support, and they responded in about an hour. They told me to just transfer the money to the credit card since the system will recognise the card is not valid anymore and it will automatically send the money to my verified bank account and remove the nonexistent credit card. So, I transferred 10 € to the credit card. This gave me the SEPA option (as they said it would), and then proceeded to withdraw the rest of the funds. This was also part of the advice they gave me a few emails down the line.

All of my money (including the 10 € sent "separately") was in my bank account in about 10 minutes after that, give or take. I'm not sure where all the negative experiences come from, mine was everything but.

I do have a few gripes:

- The return is not 6,75 % but more around 5 %. Still better than a bank and the liquidity, as described, is great.

- Also had the negative experience of a rude representative who called me x amount of times when I couldn't be reached and who tried to make me change my somewhat negative review. Please, leave those practices behind.

And try to emulate what Mintos is doing. Don't leave a generic "We're sorry that..., we will contact you...". Write a public response/explanation, so that people can see that you're being transparent and that there might be some deeper reasons behind some of the grievances.

- Also, the interface is somewhat confusing, but if you only use G&G, it's ok after a few visits.

Do not put your money in BONDORA, you will NEVER get it back!!

I'm shocked. I have been trying to withdraw my money for over 3 weeks now.

The customer service either has no clue or is playing dumm.

It seems they are trying to steal my money.

They are coming up with ridiculous excuses that my bank doesn't accept the withdrawal, which is a lie.

They make zero effort to help me and keep saying the same useless things.

Do NOT put your money in Bondora. You will NEVER get it back!!

Hi Gabriela,

Thank you for your review. Our team has been in touch with you to help out with this.

Unfortunately, your bank kept rejecting the withdrawal from us and sending the money back to us.

One of the reasons this may have happened is if your bank is not yet supporting the swift (flash) transfer system. In cases like this, we suggest that you check with your bank and confirm or simply add another personal bank account to your Bondora account if you have one.

Our team will still contact you via your email to help you find a solution. Thank you, Gabriela.

Bondora has been in business since 2009…

Bondora has been in business since 2009 and is one of the leading non-bank digital consumer loan providers in Continental Europe. I started investing in 2016 with disappointed results. However, since they launched the “Go & Grow” product in 2018, I’m very confident with them. With this product we have Instant Liquidity and no limit for investment or early exit. Is perfect for all kind of investors from inexperienced to expertise. On the other hand, the interest rate isn’t the most attractive of the market: 6.75%.

Looks safe, but I still need time to give it a 5/5

I havn't had problems with Bondora so far. I could transfer money easily and arrived instantly. It has low interest but is one of the platfroms that is surviving with COVID-19 crisis. However, is too soon yet to give it my full trust, so currently is 4 stars.
