Opened Eyes Leads to Open Arms

I learned to navigate and click on the correct links (thanks to customer service), because I wasn't clicking the right areas to copy the link. Even though I'm not getting many donations, I'm still getting experience connecting with people and groups. Using GFM has opened my eyes to many issues people face on a daily basis and it has inspired me to work harder at the marketing I've recently started pursuing so I can give back to some causes that mean something to me.

Enabling bad and illegal behaviour

Terrible site. There is an influx of people going on holidays without travel insurance, driving scooters dangerously and intoxicated and when they get in an accident it's straight to GoFundMe to cover it.
The fact that GoFundMe is allowing this behaviour is disgusting. They are basically saying, don't get insurance, go be stupid and break the law because we got your back.
Shame on this site will never use it.

Takes a minute

Initially it seemed that I was not being supported - difficulty getting direct responses to my inquiries. After several emails, eventually was able to resolve issues.
It would have been very helpful if I could have spoken to support staff rather than emails

make easier to change the tip

I didn't see where to change the tip amount. It needs to be more obvious. And don't suggest so much. You don't deserve that much for doing so little actual work.

Support killers

Even though they added an undisclosed 'tip' on my donation (on top of their cut), I wanted to do a gofundme, but I can't in good conscience when they're going against their own rules and doing a fund for the ICE killer of Renee Goode!. Plus seeing they have 57% horrible reviews and problems. How do they sleep at night?

God helps us in time of need

In a spare of the moment a friend mentioned to me to do a Gofund me for my brother who had no insurance 😪. I didn't want to at first because of pride. I'm glad I listened. We met goal and I appreciate the opportunity 🙏. We met goal and the experience was great. Thank you for all your support in handling me during this difficult time. It was good to see my family and friends come together so my brother could have a excellent celebration of life. I will be forever grateful of this opportunity.

Great Customer Service…

It is my first experience to fundraise for anything.
Setting up a fundraiser is easy and uncomplicated.
Without my knowing, my Husband made a donation, which on our bank statement looked like a charge from gofundme. I contacted the customer service and eventually became aware that it was a donation, not a charge. The customer service team were great, professional, kind, patient, friendly.

The only single aspect which was a bit of a trial, was to get the chatbot to connect me to customer service. It took 4 separate tries, was quite frustrating.

Please help

The customer service rep was very helpful in getting my go fund me taken off Google after World Computer Exchange, which is going to ship 30 refurbished computers to Honduras for $3000, refused to allow me to raise money in their name even though I told them you would collect the donations and ship them directly to them. Any suggestions as to how I could collect the money on gofundme and you would send it to World Computer Exchange but I would not use WCEs name.

"donation protection"

Despite "donation protection" they were unable to provide a refund for a campaign that promised digital delivery of items on donation and the person asking for donations failed to deliver after 7 months and counting.

Trustworthy and Ethically Responsible

I have found GFM to be an ethically responsible and trustworthy organization. Not only is GFM’s mission a very worthy cause, in my experience it has been an exemplary customer service experience. I had some questions about a donation. They listened and provided a kind and immediate solution.
With so few ethically responsible opportunities to securely donate to worthy causes, we are fortunate to have GFM. Based on my personal experience, I would recommend secure donations to GFM.

GoFundMe Sucks

GoFundMe sucks. Everything was going well with my project. After transfers started, I received several emails asking for account verification but there were no notices on my dashboard. Transfers continued until a red light showed up. Their system then failed to take me to Strike to update. So I started a chat which became an email. Chelsea said it would take five to ten minutes to resolve my issue. After a week with no resolution, Chelsea has given up and referred me to the Trust and Safety Team whoever they are.
Luckily, I have already received all donations. Now I have given up on GoFundMe. Never again. Then I discovered it was because my campaign involved cannabis which is perfectly legal here in Canada. Somehow it took GoFundMe two months to figure this out. Bad AI. Bad GoFundMe.
