Huge split after 8 months grubs won't replace

I bought wellies 8 months ago and a huge split appeared one morning! I have only worn them for half an hour a day max not in much mud mostly on concrete. This company will not replace as I havnt been protecting them with revivex oil (as suggested on their label but noone ever does that, muck boots last years without oiling) and was accused of having had them near a radiator which I never have! So their 1 year warranty is a total lie they clearly wriggle out of. They are super uncomfy anyway so I shall we going back to muckboot. What an awful company! Do not use them!

I have purchased Grub boots that have…split in the same place

I have purchased Grub boots that have not lasted and split in exactly the same place. I sent a email raising my concerns as this could be a fault. I did not ask for a refund or replacement because of the one year guarantee. One pair only lasted eight months due to not wearing straight after purchase. There has been no goodwill gesture i.e. a discount offer. Dissatisfied.

Rubbish wellington avoid

This is my second pair of Grubbs wellingtons first pair split on both feet along seams after only 3 months which I have to say were replaced without fuss after sending photos. However 3 months into this new pair and the left foot now split along the back seam shame they are comfy wellies but seriously not fit for purpose won’t be bothering again there are far superior wellingtons on the market these are a waste of money

Terrible quality

Terrible quality, not worth the price!
Bought a pair of 'Tideline Plum' women boots around last year Easter from a local farm supply shop, didn't keep the receipt.
I've worn them on short walks in muddy Yorkshire but not extensively - yet to my great shock, the rubber foot ripped off the neoprene shaft a few weeks ago when I put them on.
Sadly the farm supply shop can't do anything without receipt but told me they stopped stocking Grubs because of serious concerns with their quality.
Grubs replied to my complaint message (with photos) simply saying they can't do anything since I bought them from a third party.
So I'm stuck and will just have to buy a new pair - of course never Grubs again!

Absolute dogsh#te!!

Absolute dogsh#te!!
Avoid at all cost. Simply not waterproof, neither snowline or highline have been waterproof, or the replacements, sole is not fully bonded to upper. Whilst company replaces promptly, the replacements also leak and they simply refunded. Do not buy if you want waterproof wellies.

Bought a pair of Grubs Creramic 5.0…

Bought a pair of Grubs Creramic 5.0 wellingtons in August, started wearing them in October and they were split by January. Grubs say 'wear and tear'.
These are cheap, shoddy Chinese wellingtons and Grubs should be ashamed of themselves selling the rubbish. Warranted for 1 year against manufacturing defects. Would not recommend dealing with Grubs, shocking aftersales service and shoddy products.

Split within a few months of light use.

Bought Grubs Speyline 4.0 end of April 2023, kept in box until end September 2023 and then moderately used most days for gentle dog walking around playing fields etc. Washed and rubber conditioner used. No wear on sole at all.
However, the boots have now split on both boots where the inside front of the foot/toe section flexes and are no longer watertight.
Contacted Charlies (the retailer) on 3/1/24 and in fairness, they said they would raise a query with Grubs. Now the 18/1/24 and there is still no update re replacement, or, now I see the questionable quality of rubber they use, preferably a refund to buy a better pair. Subsequently seen quite a few reviews on Trustpilot complaining of exactly the same fault. Not happy and would recommend avoiding Grubs as the price does not match the quality of boot or customer service. Awful. Strongly advise to avoid.

Update. Grubs have now come back and stated the cracking/splitting is 'wear and tear' and they won't help in any way.
Shoddy, shoddy, shoddy.

What utter rubbish these boots are

What utter rubbish these boots are.

In less than 2 months they were leaking and my feet were getting wet. They then want you to destroy the boots before they will replace or refund them which goes against the advice of the CAB and the Consumer Rights Act of 2015. When you point this out to then there is delay after delay after delay and I still haven't been refunded for a pair of boots that lasted less than 48 hours of ware over a 2 month period.

Save your money shop elsewhere

It took nearly 8 weeks for then to refund my money so all I can say is their customer service is even worse than the quality of their boots.

This is my second pair of grub boots

This is my second pair of grub boots, I was so delighted with the first pair they were so comfortable, then alas after 12 months they were leaking I was told they were out of guarantee. I then purchased another pair and the same thing has happened, total waste of money, l paid £80 for my first pair. I’m so upset as they were warm and comfortable, I certainly cannot afford to pay that sort of money every year for a pair of wellies.
Shame on you Grub.

I urge you not to buy Grubs wellies

I so wish I had read other customer reviews before buying a pair of Grubs wellies, I would have saved my money and brought a different brand.

I purchased a pair on 06/03/2023 through another company who sells Grubs footwear.

I didn't start to wear them regularly until the beginning of last autumn.

By mid December both wellies had split all the way around, just above the heel, above the seam.

Such a shame, as they were so comfortable and I love the look and style of them.

In my opinion to pay in the region of £70.00 for wellies that lasted 9 months and apparently have a years warranty on is totally unacceptable.

I believe I looked after them well, so am very disappointed.

I contacted the outlet that I brought them from and sent them photos. They promptly got back to me and said they would contact Grubs.
The company got back to me and said Grubs told them that they think it is normal wear and tear and told them to offer me £29.99 refund.
I then when on to look at Grubs reviews, I couldn't believe what I was reading, so many reviews from people saying they have had very similar issues with the same wellies.
So I accepted the refund and told the company I brought them off that I would take up the remainder of my issues with Grubs directly.

I have emailed Grubs customer services three times, explaining that I want the remainder of the cost of my boots reimbursed under their 12 month warranty, so I may buy another pair of suitable footwear for the remainder of winter.

No reply to all three emails.

I think it is shocking that this company are continuing to sell sub standard quality footwear, that they must know by now are not fit f9r purpose. I believe them to be deceitful and wrong in doing so.

I will continue to make contact and will be writing to their head office and will take up the cost of sending these completely useless wellies back to them.

I advise that any potential customers look elsewhere and save your hard earned money.

Not worth buying

These boots have lasted 4 months and a split has developed just above my ankle which lets water in. Absolutely not what I expected!!

Honestly my wellies were comfy

Honestly my wellies were comfy, waterproof and warm.
Roll forward two months and they're cracked, wet and uncomfortable. It really looks like poor quality rubber that's basically built into a good looking boot. The second pair did exactly the same in the same time frame. There are better options out there and I'd never consider Grubs boots ever again.
Just another poor review, to join the others, about these terrible quality boots.

This is my third and final pair of Grub…

This is my third and final pair of Grub boots.
All have failed one way or another through moderate use.
The first two pairs leaked, and the last pair, the soles are falling off.
Boots have been cleaned and dried after use, and stored away from direct sunlight. Even spent a small fortune on the treatment, they recommended, to stop the cracking/splitting.
Do not be tempted by the "special offers", they send out from time to time. They will prematurely fail and cost you more in the long run.

Complete Waste of Money!!!!

I've had 4 pairs of their Frostline wellingtons now and only ever used them for walking the dogs during the winter months and every pair has perished and split in less than 12 months. When you contact customer service they just tell you that the boots haven't been looked after carefully enough and offer a discount voucher so you can spend even more money on their second rate products.

Comfy boots but don't last

I've been using the Grub's frostline boots for years. They used to last several years. The quality has deteriorated. Now they split within 12 months. I've had this happen several times and so was keeping an eye out before the guarantee expired. To be fair they have been replaced but I doubt the replacements will be replaced when they split next year. Its a shame because they are really warm, all day comfortable , but just don't stay waterproof.

Leaking Highline boots

Bought a pair of Grubs highline boots in April23 used 4 times on wet riverbank final time in heavy rain, had wet feet due to boots leaking at the join of sole and upper. Emailed Grubs warehouse, who told me to show leak on photos which I did, then instructed me to cut out logo to destroy old boots, then trigger replacement. Used replacement boot over the weekend in shallow water 4 inches deep whilst fishing. Left boot immediately started leaking. Destroyed this pair on instruction from Grubs and requested a refund. Hopeless, boots are not waterproof.
