Great selling experience
After attending the Nov auction, I decided to sell a car at their most recent auction at Bolesworth Castle and couldn’t be happier with the experience. All staff were friendly and I was kept up to date throughout. Everything was explained and I was given all the documents to read and sign which clearly stated all the information about the process. I attended the auction on the day and it was very well run and staff were friendly and on hand to answer any queries anyone had. I would definitely use them again to either buy or sell a car in the future.
Zac and all staff are amazing
Zac and all staff are amazing the 458 Ferrari he had when I viewed a lovely Evo tme was amazing.
It’s a shame all the bad reviews he would be better off sticking to supercars and classics.
Dealing with customers that are worried about paying there shopping bills and there negative disappointing opinions. Why bother with the lower end stuff trying to help people with no reserves etc.
To be bitten by them after shame.
Keep up the good work hampsons.
SHODDY SERVICE. IGNORED
I bid on a car and “won it”.
I received no communication at all.
I had to chase them up to see if it even won the car.
Absolutely dreadful service.
If you bid they take ages to get back to you.
Very slow and inefficient team
Zak Hamilton needs to take some leadership lessons and train his team in getting back to customers.
This is a seriously poorly run business.
Fraud
We listed our Jeep Wrangler for sale on Auto Trader for £53,000.
One of the employees from the auction company contacted my husband after obtaining his phone number and contact details from the Auto Trader listing. A person named Louise called my husband and assured him that they could sell our Jeep for the same price, or possibly even more, through their auction without any hassle.
Based on this assurance, my husband agreed and dropped the Jeep at their premises. After that, Louise sent my husband an entry form to sign. She repeatedly called and texted him, asking him to sign it quickly and did not give him enough time to properly read or understand the document.
Yesterday, the auction took place. However, the starting price was set at £25,000, which is far below the value of our vehicle. The highest bid reached only £29,500, which is completely unacceptable to us and far below the price we agreed to sell the vehicle for.
Now when we contact them, they are saying that the vehicle has already been sold, even though we never agreed to sell it for such a low amount.
We believe we have been misled and possibly subjected to fraud or misrepresentation. We request an urgent investigation into this matter and clarification regarding how the vehicle was sold without our consent at such a low price.
stay away!! Complete scam

AVOID !!!!!
Avoid like the plague!
Avoid like the plague!! Scammers!! Sold my husbands Audi R8 that was up for sale for £87,000 at auction for £63,000! After the finance is paid my husband will receive £500, where as he should have been getting a guaranteed £87,000 for the car and circa £25,000 once finance was paid! This money was to go towards his business which is struggling, and now we’re even worse off! My husband has lost his dream car and savings that were tied up in the car! Louie Bostock is a scammer! Ignored all my husbands emails and messages regarding the starting bid of £87,000! He knew full well what he was doing! Scammers! I don’t know how you sleep at night!! Ripping good, hard working people off!
Hi,I listed my car on Autotrader for…
Hi,I listed my car on Autotrader for £53,000 and was contacted by Hampson Auctions to sell it at auction.
During our phone conversation, I clearly stated that I would not sell below a certain price. I was reassured the auction would achieve a suitable value.
I was sent the form via WhatsApp and email, and the company staff wrote that it was “just an entry form.” Based on this explanation, I signed the form via email.
However, the auction started at £25,000 and the car sold for £29,500—far below the price I had discussed.
I have not transferred the V5C logbook, the buyer has not paid, and I am actively trying to resolve this with the company.
I have screenshot showing that I was informed it was just the entry form.
I am sharing my experience so that other sellers carefully review all terms and communications before signing anything. I hope this matter is resolved fairly.

DO NOT USE!!
DO NOT USE!!! As untrustworthy as they can legally get away with. Started of by approaching me from my auto trader add then promising me they can sell my car with a reserve and without any fees and if I would like to go forward with it I needed to pay £250 straight away. Pleased with the idea I thought I would go ahead with it and so he sent me an invoice for £250 + VAT which was the first lie as the invoice was £300 but still I thought this was a good deal so went ahead and sent him the money. This is when it started to really go down hill as I then received a contract and was told to quickly sign that so we can get on to the listing as soon as possible. Luckily I scanned through this contract to see the real hampsons which had many seller fees and also in clear print at the bottom no reserve which obviously is 2 of the main things when auctioning a car and since then doing my own research finding so many poor customers who have fell ill to this scam and told they were never promised it in the first place and their beloved cars going for way below their initial reserve and nothing they could do about it. They are very clever in their unprofessional tactics as anything they don’t want to have in writing they “quickly call you just to explain” on an unrecorded mobile. To top all this off I requested a refund of my £300 as soon as I realised the contract was false promises and that’s when the replies started to go from instant to nothing, lucky having parents that deal with law I had them email hampsons threatening to take action if not paid within the legal 14 day term and even then they still pushed their luck and took 21 days to finally send it. Please please please do your research on this horrible company and don’t be fooled by its ratings as many other sites have far worse ratings. Hampsons auctions needs closing down or investigation further.

Avoid
Avoid! Had my car on Autotrader when I got a call by them to include in the auction, worst decision ever made. should have trusted my gut, the guys would actively avoid my calls. Ultimately the car sold for less than 25% of its worth. Taylor and Louie both were just young, clueless and very unhelpful bordering on rude. They even refused to allow a reserve on my car, They reassured me it is likely to get the price it was on sale for, I regret using them and even if I take the L of the money, their interactions with clients is terrible.
Had my car advertised on Autotrader for…
Had my car advertised on Autotrader for a while but it didn't sell. Received a few emails and calls from Hampsons trying to persuade me to put my car through their Auction. I thought about it and finally agreed. I opted for a reserve price, payed the fees (£300 inc vat) and delivered the car. Not long after, I had a call to say the guy who I dealt with had not long started working at Hampsons and my car reserve was set too high so I agreed to set it lower. I was told I could contact at any point if I had questions - I tried the two people I had previously spoken to with no answer from my messages or calls. The Day before the auction a third guy called to say I should take the reserve off so it would help sell - no reserve means no commission on sale. I agree - the car sells - no phone call to say the car had been sold so I call the office to find out it had sold and the price it sold for and I would receive payment within a week - I received payment but received £300 less than the sale price. So in total - Hampsons received £600 to sell my car. Highly disappointing and would never recommend them to anyone. I put 1 star for the lady in the office. *Unfortunately I don't have any phone call recordings* but who would record conversations knowing they'd be screwed over?!
I bought a car for £ 820 hammer price
I bought a car for £ 820 hammer price, when the invoice came they had slapped on another £ 750+ buyers premium !!!!! There was no indication of this ridculous premium at the point of sale IE The page the car was advertised on. Completly unrealistic in my view.
