They refuse to get all info and decline you based on partial information

Absolutely appalled their site only allows for three documents to be uploaded. I put what I could through immediately messaged them to state that I have more supporting documents including more income that I was not able to upload due to their sites upload limitations. They didn't ask for or give me any options to send this information through which will have strongly boosted my application and instead just declined it with only a portion of the information. Would NOT recommend a company that refuses to get all information before making decisions

Hi Hariette

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are genuinely sorry for the frustration this has caused. We completely understand how disappointing it is to feel like your application was assessed without the full picture, especially after you reached out to provide additional income documentation.

We want to ensure your application receives a fair and thorough review with all your supporting documents included. Please reach out to our team directly at customer.service@harmoney.co.nz (or reply to your application confirmation email) so we can help you upload the remaining information and re-evaluate your application.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention—feedback like yours helps us identify where we need to improve our process and site features.

Warm regards,

The Harmoney Team

Predatory

I paid my loan in full, and was told I would get an email confirming this. i did not get this email, but the following day I did get an email offering me further finance, which I find predatory.

I was also contacted more than one about missing payments, when I paid above my minimum repayment each month.

Hello Bee, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

First, please accept our apologies—this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide.

It sounds like there was a synchronization delay between your final payment and our automated systems, which resulted in both the missing confirmation email and the ill-timed marketing message.

Regarding the payment notifications: if you were paying above the minimum, you should not have been flagged. We would like to investigate why our system didn't recognize your account as 'up to date' to ensure this doesn't happen to others.

Please reach out to us at customerservice@harmoney.co.nz so we can manually send your payoff confirmation and look into your account history.

We value your feedback as it helps us improve.

Kindly
Glen

Be careful with their "Won't affect your credit score"

I’m very disappointed with my experience with Harmoney. They advertise that applying for loan “won’t affect your credit score,” yet a credit inquiry appeared on my file even though I didn’t complete the application. That’s misleading and unfair.

To make things worse, I couldn’t even finish the process because Harmoney doesn’t integrate with Wise, which is my main account. So now I’m left with a credit hit for an application I couldn’t complete.

If you’re considering Harmoney, be aware that their “won’t affect your credit score” claim didn’t match my experience at all.

Frustrating process!

I'm finding the process extremely frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. I’ve provided all the required creditor information for a personal loan from a bank, including a settlement letter, which was initially accepted. However, when I tried to input the information into the dashboard, I was unable to proceed past the “code and reference” section.

The settlement letter clearly states that the funds are to be paid directly into my personal bank account, which naturally means there is no creditor reference or code. Despite this, I was told the letter still needs to be adjusted—although the current version already specifies that the funds will go into my own account. This seems redundant and makes the request for a reference or code irrelevant unless they want one specifically from me, which has not been clarified.

The entire process feels unnecessarily drawn out and confusing. To add to the frustration, the voicemails I receive are difficult to understand because the caller speaks too quickly or appears rushed.

This experience is making me feel uneasy about proceeding with the loan at all. If the communication and process are this unclear at the application stage, it raises concerns about what dealing with the loan going forward might be like.

Hi there

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I am genuinely sorry for the frustration and anxiety this experience has caused. Applying for a loan should feel straightforward and transparent, not like you are stuck in a loop of technical glitches and confusing requests.

You are completely right—if your settlement letter specifies that funds are paying out directly into your personal bank account, being blocked by mandatory "code and reference" fields on the dashboard makes no sense. That is a system limitation on our dashboard, and our team should have cleared that requirement manually for you behind the scenes rather than asking you to alter a document that was already correct.

I also sincerely apologise for the rushed voicemails. You deserve clear, calm, and deliberate communication, especially when discussing financial matters. Hearing that our calls left you feeling uneasy is a clear sign we missed the mark on service.

We would love the chance to fix this for you immediately and take the friction out of your application:

Manual Overrides: A senior manager will review your uploaded settlement letter and manually bypass the reference field so you do not have to re-upload or edit anything.

Direct Communication: We will follow up with you directly (at a comfortable, clear pace) to confirm your application details and answer any questions you have about managing your loan going forward.

Please email your application reference number to customer.service@harmoney.com with the subject line "Trustpilot Review - Escalated" so we can locate your account and resolve this today.

We completely understand your hesitation, but we would appreciate the opportunity to turn this around and show you the simple, transparent service we aim to deliver.

Incompetent

I've been with Harmoney since 2019. Thier business practices are sketchy, and barely legal. When you apply for a top-up, they will role your new loan into an existing one, then increase the interest rates without explaining this.

I've recently applied for a top-up. It has been approved and the contract was ready to sign. They then deleted my contract before the due date and spun a lie about moving to a new system and that is the reason my approved loan was deactivated. To mention, my loan was approved after they moved to a new system.

I was then asked to reapply, which I did. Now my application is stuck in the bank details upload page. They can't accommodate SBS bank for some reason. I have been contacted by numerous representatives all asking the same bloody questions of when I will upload my bank statements. I'm tired of explaining the same story over and over since around 12 May.

I will be seeking debt consolidation elsewhere and close my Harmoney account ASAP.

Do not use Harmoney for your borrowing needs. They are incompetent and as mentioned, they will roll in a new top-up loan into your existing one, increasing the interest rates and resetting your payment plan to the maximum days

While most of the interactions were great including the offer including fast turnaround, I accepted my quote last Wednesday & because Harmoney are going through the migration to a new platform & system I had to accept the quote again today (Monday) which has delayed the payout. Ideally I would have liked the funds paid out last Thursday or Friday but apart from that everything was awesome & thank you Harmoney for backing me & coming to the party.
