Lovely first experience

Fitted mums appointment in the next day.Messages to remind us of the appointment.Staff were delightful..dewaxing a resounding success.Mum enjoyed the experience and could even hear the rain on the windscreen on her return journey.

Both appointments I had were great

Both appointments I had were great. I felt listened to and now have a better understanding of the hearing issues I have been experiencing. Everybody I encountered at Hearology was very friendly and responsive.

Everything was nice about the place

Everything was nice about the place, the people, the friendliness...... only that the actual help they are able to give seems to be somewhat limited. However I was able to discover a certain problem. I t was not possible to address the problem, but learning about it was certainly a help. So many, many thanks for the kindness I experienced.

Aged 60, hearing loss noticed

Everything was explained clearly and it was an interesting and illuminating experience.
I tried a test aid and that was clearly explained, ditto pricing and so on.
Time to ponder in the next stage now.

Not a happy customer

Hearology was recommended to me by several clients, so when my ear became blocked after the flu in November, and then became infected, I finally got an appointment on new year's eve. The microsuction wasn't successful because of the infection, and it was very painful. It was suggested by the clinician to go to a London branch to get a bespoke antibiotic, at a cost of £200, to clear up the infection,and the appointment could be made straight away. I declined and got a GP appointment the following day. I was given a prescription for an antibiotic (not bespoke!) and the infection cleared up in 3 days, at no cost to me. Hearology was recommended to me by several people, but sadly I won't be doing the same, as my experience was less than satisfactory and I felt the cost didn't reflect the service.

Yes, sometimes the clearing of infection discharge from the ear canal can be painful, Amanda. But that’s why Harry, the Hearology clinician who carried out your procedure late December, asked you repeatedly to tell him to stop if it became too painful.

We understand that you might be angry with us for causing you pain and that you might have your reasons for waiting until nearly two weeks after the appointment to mention it, but we do not understand what the pricing of an infection treatment service that you chose not to use has got to do with this 1-star review.

Anyway, sincerely, we would like to apologise for any pain that we caused you as we successfully removed the infection discharge and débris. We wish you’d told us at the time, because we would have either modified our approach – or, if we could not find another way, stopped. And we are very happy to hear that your infection has been successfully treated – for free.

Good reliable care

I experienced some deafness caused by an amount of wax remaining in my left ear after having both ears cleared. This was unlucky as It has never happened before. I was given an apopointment very quickly to rectify the situation and left Hearology with two good working ears. Thank you.
