Bit Slow to Despatch Stock. No Response to Quality Problem So Far

It took longer than I’d expected for Heritage Parts Centre to ship the 2 axle seal kits I’d ordered. They seem to take several working days to get to despatching parts.
Also, one of the circular inner spring seals failed, just as the seal assembly was being carefully mounted to the axle. A split second later and it wouldn’t have been caught until the seal failed. I had to use the 2nd seal kit I’d ordered for the other side of the axle. So, the seal replacement is only half done. I’ll have to call HPC to chase up a response, hopefully resulting in receiving a replacement seal kit. I’ll then have to wait for good weather and get all the gear out again, before I can enjoy my classic car.
I’ve emailed HPC through their website complaints procedure about it, with my order details but, still haven’t had any response after 3 working days.
Like most classic car enthusiasts, I need availability of spares through after-market suppliers and I appreciate the pressures on small & medium sized businesses, especially these days. But, when suppliers take your money on ordering, I’d hope for faster and in this case, even some response at all to quality problems.

Hi Peter, sorry for your experience here. I have looked into this and can report that your order was placed on Friday 5th June and dispatched on Tuesday 9th June, which is 2 working days. Our terms of business on standard delivery (which you selected) is 2-3 working days to dispatch. If you would like your order faster you need to select a next day service, or next day pre-12 both of which are offered to customers. I am glad to see that within 3 hours of your online message about needing a replacement we replied and confirmed it was sent same day to you.

The fitment of the Type 4 headers was…

The fitment of the Type 4 headers was good. A few taps with a rubber mallet, and they mated right up. That's as far as I've gotten with them. They look professionally welded to me and am happy with the end product. Thank you!

You can edit this part out, but I knocked off a star for the combs of; the high price of the product, long wait time, and I paid an extra $34 for the tarrifs in top of the price of the product. I know I agreed to the terms of purchase, but I now wonder if it was really worth the time and money. Thanks for asking for a review. It's not a dig, just replying to what I thought about the experience.

The parts were as expected but took a week and a half to get here! Only update that I was given was the tracking number which I could clearly see my part stuck for several days in Gatwick. I suspect the part was not in stock as indicated on the website and that Heritage are drop shipping. Not the customer experience I’m used too and will start to look at using other suppliers more often.

Hi Joe, the reason you saw Gatwick in the Royal Mail tracking is because that is the nearest main depot to our warehouse in West Sussex. I am sorry for their delay. You selected standard delivery which on low value orders is sent tracked Royal Mail. We do not drop ship. In future if you are in a rush for your items do try one of our next day or next day before 12 delivery services.

Shipped very fast to the US

Shipped very fast to the US, parts Quality is excellent. End of the bumpers were damaged and chrome was cracked but that is covered by the end caps, but thats to be expected when shipping to another country.

Parts are good quality and look great (…

Parts are good quality and look great ( not yet fitted) however customer service contact is very difficult. We ordered over the German site ( Bremen) we did not receive anything about delivery, only thing received was the invoice. I tried to contact Heritage by phone to ask about our order only to hear that all questions had to be put over the contact form. This I did, I received no information that the contact form had been received.
I then wrote an email over the “ HELP” mail address .
Will answered my mail and after two other emails we finally received tracking details. The order to delivery took 5 weeks. Telephone contact would in my opinion been easier.

Hi Graham, in future do check your junk or spam email folders as we automatically send order confirmation emails for all our orders, and some customers have found these emails are filtered into those folders by their mail provider.

The invoice you received is only sent upon dispatch and is usually accompanied by tracking detail. You can always call our UK contact number which is displayed on our contact us page if you need any advice.

Very pleased

The hubs were delivered quickly, and packed very well in cardboard and paper. They were easy to fit and look great. Many people have commented on how good they look on my 1991 T25.

Damaged delivery

Ordered a body panel, delivered with minimum packaging (virtually none). Box was left by the courier with a large hole in, damage to the panel exactly where the hole is. Made Heritage Parts Centre aware and provided images as requested. No response, no apology.

Unfortunately not without problems.

Unfortunately, unlike previous experiences this was not without problems. Being a member of the Karmann Ghia Owners Club I have always qualified for a discount in the past through logging in to my account. This time no matter what I did I was unable to access a discount. There is no shop helpline any longer and previous experience has shown that the technical helpline referees you to an email address which was no good to me as I needed to make the purchase that day due to travel arrangements. Conversations on the club Facebook page would show that I am not alone in obtaining a discount although it still seems to work for some. Something that needs addressing I think.
