I hired a mixologist for a house party and I'm very happy with my experience. Dan was very helpful in the initial stages of the booking and explained clearly what's available and included in the various packages. Our barman Anton was very professional, well dressed, and the cocktails were delicious. All of our guests were happy. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to the exorbitant prices quoted by other companies which seem more geared towards corporate events.

Great service. The bartender texted in advance to communicate all that was needed. Turned up on time and provided service all night! Would recommend.

Tried to hire them this time last year. I asked a simple question "Do you accept Revolut?" and also do you have references. Alina wrote back that as they are a "business" they don't take Revoult! Ok. Also said that asking for references was one of the oddest emails she had ever got. So rude, so bizarre, so unprofessional. I am so glad I got this response before I paid a deposit as I can see the scam is there and they take your money and run. They should be reported to the Ombusman. STAY AWAY

OMG. Had a corporate event and they canceled on the morning of the event. 20 people left with no event for two hours. We had invoiced so they could not bail on the money, but DO NOT USE THEM. Buyer beware is all I can say. I wish I had looked at the reviews before booking. NEVER USE THEM.

This company is not legit - do not waste your time or money. I wish I had read the reviews ahead of booking a mixologist from this “company” - I too was ghosted and let down.

I booked a mixologist for a party on Sunday 30th Oct just under a month in advance. “Dan” was initially really responsive to emails. I paid my deposit of €100 and was confident I had secured my booking. I did get a bit of a bad feeling when the company address on the invoice was just a really long residential road in Clontarf in Dublin, no house or unit number, but I didn’t think too deeply about it.

As I had heard nothing from Dan since my initial booking, I emailed him 4 days before my event to confirm that we were all set - I heard nothing back. I tried calling the numbers on the website but they rang out for 3 days. I sent multiple emails to Dan, essentially begging him to respond. I heard nothing so ditched the idea that anyone was coming and went and bought all ingredients for the cocktails we were having so I could do it myself.

A couple of hours before my event, I got a bizarre response from Dan to say he couldn’t make it, he was due to fly back to Dublin to arrive in at 5pm but he was delayed until 9pm (he was due to be at my house at 9pm). I was then refunded my deposit.

I don’t know whether these guys are operating a scam or are just completely incapable of functioning any sort of business. What I do know is that the way they are operating causes any unfortunate customers a lot of inconvenience.

SCAM company!!!! Please don't be fooled by obviously the fake reviews written before me as I was fooled!! And the obnoxious replies by them to anyone giving bad reviews!! I can confirm I booked them back in July through this girl called "Reny" booking was great simple, paid my €150 deposit (which I'll never see again!) ! It was 3 weeks till my sisters hen and I wrote an email no reply gave the benefit of the doubt and waited!! Two weeks later nothing sent an email everyday since rang their number everyday no answer!! SCAM!!! And all their other websites 'cocktailclasses.ie and bar equipment.ie' too have the same number so also scams! I will be taking this further if anyone else that got scammed would like to join me! They can't keep getting away with this!

Great service, highly recommend. From first contact and dealings with Dan in the planning of the event and through to our impeccable bartender Jose we were delighted. Jose was professional, courteous and well dressed. Our hen party guests well so impressed and cocktails were amazing 🤩 They had a team that came before the bartender to setup and clear out so all ran very smoothly.

We had a company event and we were very happy with Hire A Barman, he arrived on time and had all the drinks, etc.. very professional and he made sure everyone had enough to drink and stayed until after we finished eating, would recommend and would hire them again in the future.

Recently hired for a hen party. Had an outstanding balance of €325 confirmed via email to be paid to bad man directly on night. The bar man was insisting the remaining balance was €375 and made me pay him this to keep the service going. A horrible situation for me to be in as I didn’t want him to leave and disrupt the party/service. It was a very uncomfortable confrontation which put a dampener on my evening. I have emailed them multiple times about this with screenshots as the payment was done on Revolut. I have not heard anything back. Communication prior to the evening was also not great, hard to get through on phone and get email replies!!! Cocktails were nice but I would definitely NOT recommend or use them again!

I booked this company for my daughter’s 21st birthday party and I would definitely highly recommend them , the cocktails were absolutely gorgeous we had a choice of 3 and they went down a treat with all our guests , the mixologist was so friendly and very smartly dressed , we had a very good experience with this company and I have and will definitely be recommending them to the future.

We used this company for my daughters 21st party. I can honestly say they are fantastic to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. Sanjay was out mixologist, he was so friendly and professional and really looked after all our guest, he even stayed an extra 40 mins to finish making our cocktails. I will definitely be using them again. 5 star ratings from us.

I was a bit nervous booking as I read some of the other reviews. DON'T BE CONCERNED! These guys are amazing. Responsive to emails, punctual and very professional. Mike was AMAZING. We had a party at home and all our guests really enjoyed the cocktails. He is so talented, the setup was quick and really professional. HIGH RECOMMEND these guys, I can't understand why there are bad reviews

Initial contact was rude and unprofessional, judging by the other comments here, I'm not alone, glad I discovered the tone at an early stage. Disappointing attitude problem.

I can't get over how cheeky whoever deals with the emails is.
The website doesn't actually specify this company only operates in Dublin. According to the email I reviewed back it's only Dublin. Not pleasant to deal with at all.

Would totally recommend these guys which we used for a garden party before a night out. Jose was excellent and kept the cocktails coming while Reny and Alina took care of the logistics in advance. We’ll definitely be hiring again 10/10. Thanks!

Complete scam. Paid my deposit and gave all of my event details in February for a private function. Completely uncontactable in the lead up to the event, no answer to phone calls, no response to emails. Certainly no returning my €200. Multiple websites with the same contact details, all useless. Hireabarman.ie / hireamixologist.ie / cocktails.ie . All the same company, no response, deposit lost. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE

Your reply to say you are on holidays and on the beach unable to respond is also a complete joke. No business should be taking deposits if you have no intention of fulfilling your commitment…this is called a scam.

If I receive the refund of my deposit I will update this information accordingly.

Unfortunately, they never turned up for the afters of a wedding we had organised in our venue. I had multiple emails, multiple calls, confirming they could do it. They were completely uncontactable in the 3 days beforehand. By that stage we had no other option, so had to just "hope" they turned up on the day. They didn't. The bride and groom took it in their stride to be fair. If the company had just told me they couldn't do it we could've easily organised a replacement. Avoid this company, if you don't believe this review try to call any of their numbers on their website and see if anyone answers. From my experience they never do. I'm not writing this review out of spite as it wasnt me that was let down, but our client. Lack luster, non-caring companies like this need to be held accountable for agreeing to bookings and upholding their end of the deal. So I'd just save yourself the heartache and go elsewhere. The below reply is unfortunate, just an attempt to muddy the waters a bit. This is the first reply I've gotten through a review site, still no email follow up or call or any communication whatsoever. If you want to be a professional company then respond to emails and calls not reviews when the damage is done. Thanks

We hired José for an office party through Hire A Barman and the service from beginning to end was superb. Reny made organising our specific requirements easy and efficient and José entertained everyone to great measure. The cocktails were delicious and everyone had a blast! I couldn't recommend them enough.

Would absolutely recommend these guys. They were punctual, efficient, organised and really personable. Client was delighted. Thank you so much, Alina and Reny were also a pleasure to deal with and always so quick to reply to all emails.
