This was a 'repeat' problem with a tap that was fitted by HomeServe in Nov 2025. AI booked me an evening appt for the repair - then I had the option of contact with a human (so much better). The advisor was more than helpful. He offered an earlier pm appt, and without any bother refunded my standard charge. The guy who fixed the tap was also very personable, and easy to explain to. Good experience all round. Thankyou.

Sadly I’ve had to make a complaint which has been rejected. A fix was identified for a leak but required a part to be ordered. In the meantime the engineer applied a temporary fix to stop the leak until they could come back with the part. However, Homeserve then closed the claim as fixed stating that the temporary measure was sufficient. Leaving me to wait for the leak to resume which I won’t know until my ceiling below becomes damaged. So if you want a proper job doing, paying for a policy isn’t cost effective as you’ll still need to call a plumber out to complete the work. Extremely disappointed with this experience and being left with this worry hanging over me.
UPDATE: Just to be clear, changing the part was NOT deemed precautionary by the engineer, it was necessary to fix the issue properly instead of just putting a plaster over it. They are using this as an excuse to not fully complete the job. Engineers want to be in and out quickly so shortcuts are taken. Extremely disappointing.

A very polite gentleman turned, having already advised me by phone that he was coming. He serviced the boiler , advised me there were a couple of problems that he would eventually come and fix. He was very polite and appeared to be very professional.
All in all I was very impressed and he deserves five stars.

After explaining to an operator that my direct cylinder in the loft the overflow pipe on the outside wall was running. The operator said I was covered. The homeserve plumber turned up. As soon as he said to me have I got a loft ladder. I could see he wasn’t interested. He got in the loft stood about 6 feet away from the cylinder and said I wasn’t covered. He left sat in his van and spent more time doing his report than he spent in the loft.
I called homeserve. The person I spoke to I felt was condescending in telling me why I wasn’t covered. I’ve been with homeserve probably 20 years and don’t expect to be treated that way. What makes it worse is I am a chartered Building survey. So if I’m told I am covered that’s what I expect. So I got a plumber who I can trust and is reliable to do the job. Took him 15 minutes had to get a new part but not difficult for a competent plumber to do. Interestingly Homeserve although they said I wasn’t covered said they could do the job but would need see what parts were needed and the give me a price.
