Excellent actually. A small leak from a pipe under the sink which didn't require an immediate fix and I was able to make an appointment at a convenient time for me within a couple of days. It turned out to be a simple fix but the Homeserve plumber took the time to double check it all to be sure. Very pleased I took out the cover!

So very easy to make a claim all online with very helpful information. Booked a visit by the engineer without any delay and he fixed the problem and explained everything as he went along. Very polite and helpful people who just got on with the job. Would recommend without hesitation.

The telephone service though automated was incredibly straighforward to use and I also spoke to a lovely lady.
The plumbing emergency was dealt with same day even though it was a bank hols and a heatwave and wow were we glad to get out cold water switched back on once the burst bathroom tap was fixed.
The gentleman who came to the house was proffessional, friendly, informative and a genuine pleasure to have in the house.

When I contacted Homeserve with a problem it was great to speak to a human and organising the visit was easy and everything went well and the engineer knew what to do and problem is no more.

Save your money and look for an alternative.
We are two vulnerable 76 year olds. We reported having no electricity at 8am on3rd June 2026. Homeserve have no priority system, so an appointment was made for today between 8am and 1pm. Nobody came. nobody rang. We are just left without any power. we no doubt have lost two freezers full of food. The car is locked in the garage due to having a power door, and all Homeserve will say is we will raise a complaint." It will take up to 5 working days for the complaints department to contact you" Ten years of being a Homeserve customer counts for nothing.

Very nice man came and fixed my back door as it would not lock and I didn't want to go to bed with it left unlocked. Made a good job of it.

David O'Hara and Dominic Grimshaw arrived on time and really cheerful.
They asked me to tell them what issues I'd been having (usually ppl just start without asking me anything so I was really impressed).
They unblocked my main drain on the front drive and identified the issue.
I told them I have issues every few months and it's really upsetting and embarrassing.
They were lovely about it.
They also looked at my other drain in the back garden I'd had constant issues with, they did some troubleshooting and discovered it was a shared drain and it was the neighbours sewage coming to my washing machine/kitchen sink outdoor drain.
The back garden used to smell so bad.
It wasn't a booked job with them however they also said United utilities are responsible for this and let me know why.
I said I'd tried but they were refusing.
I called United utilities while they were there, they (as always) tried to fob me off and say I have a driveway so it's not them.
I explained exactly the issue and that it had been inspected by Homeserve and it was United utilities shared drain and why.
They completely changed when they knew Homeserve had checked it and booked a slot for the next day!
The United utilities men arrived next day, tried to say it wasn't for them to do.
I told them who inspected mine and the share with next door. I said the neighbours had flushed the toilet when I asked and it bubbled up in my washing machine/sink drain.
They had to agree and then unblocked the neighbours drain which was causing sewage coming into mine.
I've had issues for 5 years with United utilities shared back garden drain, them not doing it.
I've also had issues with my front sewage drain and paid £180 a time every 6 mths or so for it unblocked and the engineers never knowing why. Just telling me not to use wet wipes (I never have).
Homeserve could see the drain shaft was built at a sharp angle which was catching and not allowing flow of water properly. I looked and understood exactly what they meant.
For the 1st time in 5 years I now can get someone privately to do the new drain build work to curve the flow instead of the sharp corner and fix it for good.
It's also the 1st time in 5 years I haven't had United utilities refusing to do work and telling me to go private.
I'm so grateful for David and Dominic. I have twice looked into moving house even though I love this home, because I was so upset and stressed with the constant sewage issues knowing it's not something I'm doing (the neighbours told me the previous owners always had problems and were fed up of it and it was a part of the reason to move).
I'll always have Homeserve now, for the small payment, the service was not only outstanding and such nice people, it means I finally know how to permanently end this issue.
I also called to give a review and spoke to Diane and she was absolutely brilliant on the phone! What a great company.
