Warranty not working

I have similar problems like others.
I bought mobile phone and from first day I have problem with screen flickering and sometimes you cannot turn on screen.
In beginning i was thinking that this is related with software update so I wait some time. 27days after receiving mobile i send email to honorbuy.com.
In the end after some time finally I send mobile phone to Slovenia. They checked mobile phone and confirmed problem with screen, after that they send mobile phone to China.
Couple days ago I received email that frame is sunken and that I need to pay for repair(this is true, BUT this happened just day before I send mobile phone Back and screen flickering problem is from first day and is not related with this). Also that I need to pay shipping coast.

Unfortunately warranty is not working properly.
Other thing that normally you need how it's look more than 3month to receive back mobile phone.

Update / Reply to honorbuy.com message :
This small frame damage is very very small and is on side and is not related with screen. Other thing, you didn't want to give me adress to send you mobile phone, I spent 20days after reporting to convince You that mobile phone is defective before you agree to receive mobile phone . Do You now how is frustrating when you cannot evan receive phone call, when you cannot turn screen on. So this small frame issue happened just couple days before I send mobile phone to You (and I repeat anyhow this is not related whit deffective screen).

If you can proof otherwise, please do.

Dear Martin, we are sorry but we can not repair the phone for free because it is damaged and the warranty doesn't cover the screen reparation under these conditions. This is our and also Xiaomi company rule, we cant' just belive you that the phone had these problems berore you damaged it, you sent us the first email only a month after you received the phone.

Worst seller ever!

This is worst seller ever! I bought mobilephone that gave me only trouble, has defect-yellow mark on screen, after being repaired from seller, seller returned me mobilephone with same defect. Honorbuy selles mobilephones with with warranty of 1 year, but accutally there is no real warranty...buyer cover shipping costs, waits on repair 2 months, than is beging asked to pay shipping costs for return and after that still has mobilephone with defect. And even than seller doesnt contact buyer. I will never buy from this seller again. I do not recommend this seller. Avoid him.

Dear Mr. Sousa, probably you get little confused, we have only the EU warehosue, not the US warehouse. Usually we ask our customers to send the phone back to our EU warehose (not directly in China) to help them save money. We don't have a repair center in the EU warehouse, we don't assert that we'll repair the phones in the EU, we just test them there to confirm the problem. After that we send them to China to our main warehouse where we forward them to an official service center for reparation (under warranty). All the process usually last around 4-5 weeks (max 2 months) since we receive the phone in our EU warehouse (Jan 24, 2017 in your case), as our support team said this time there could be some delays becasue of the main Chinese holiday (Chinese New Year), in this period unfortunately almost all companies were cloded for 7-10 days.
We are sorry about the delay, we hope Xiaomi will repair your device as soon as possible, then we'll send it back to you via EU warehouse.

Kind regards,

Honorbuy Team

Slow service, but you can get a refund!

I have waited almost 48 hours for a second email response and still none! I simply asked whether I could get a refund for an order which I can no longer make use of, as the address that I ordered it to is no longer available to me, and so I can't buy from them. The LCD replacement (my order) hasn't shipped yet, and so I want to ask them to cancel before it ships but they don't respond! Don't buy from anywhere else besides seriously trusted companies these days, like Amazon - where you can get an immediate refund.

Edit: they refunded me after I said the address is no longer valid.

Really bad aftersale service

Here's my story with Honorbuy;

At the beginning of the year 2016. I wanted to buy a cheaper phone and I've decided to buy one from Honorbuy. My pick was Meizu Metal, which was around 225$+shipping.

Everything seemed fine until October 2016 when I have noticed some yellow persistent spots on the screen. I've sent the first e-mail to the Honorbuy customer support with the explanation of my problem and attached picture which shows the problem. In a few days, I did get an anwer with appologie for the late answer when some additional info was required from me. After I provided all the additional info, I was asked to send a picture or video which shows the problem (again after they have already commented that exact picture). Nevertheless, I've sent that picture again and few days after I'm getting response that is the best way for solving my problem, sending the device to the service in Slovenia (of coarse, I covered the shipping expenses). After sending the device to Slovenia, didn't hear from them for almost 3 weeks. After that I've sent an e-mail with the request on status of repair and I'm getting an answer that the phone has been successfully sent to China Warehouse, and when they get it, they will send it to Meizu for a repair (what?). Almost a month after that, I'm sending a request for returning my device repaired or a refund, because 45 days are not a reasonable time to repair a mobile device. Just after that, I got the answer that the phone has been successfully repaired, I just need to pay 20$ more so they can ship the device back to my address.

I rarely complaint on anything when buying something and especially I don't write negative reviews, but this kind of experience I had to write and share with potential buyers who maybe have an idea of buying a phone cheaper. Everything is great until you have any kind of problem, and when you have it, than the whole story about cheaper phone doesn't make sense any more.

I strongly recommend, don't buy at Honorbuy, buy your phones in your country in which you have the authorized service for that particular brand, and if you get in any kind of problem, it will be probably solved faster and more convenient. It may cost you a little more at the start, but will save your nerves and additional costs when it comes to a problem.

Dear customer, we are sorry about your problems and delay, I'll try to explain what happened. Usually we ask our customers to send the phone back to our EU warehose (not directly in China) to help them save money. We don't have a repair center in the EU warehouse, we don't assert that we'll repair the phones in the EU, we just test them there to confirm the problem. We received the phone in the EU office on 2017-1-4, we tested it in few days and we sent it to China where it has been received on 2017-1-20. We are sorry but these are the shipping times, sometimes the package arrives faster sometimes later. Probably, if you had sent the phone directly to China with a low cost mail you would had to wait more than 20 days. Remember that in that period most of the companies in China are closed for 7-10 days because of the Chinese New Year, so there were no ways to repait it faster, on 2017-2-13 out support team informed you that the phone has been fixed. We ship back the phone max. 60 days since we received it from the customer, usually it's all done in 30-40 days, sorry again for waiting longer.
About the payment, as stated in our policy, if a phone has to be sent to the reparation center (and it's under warranty, not damaged, etc.) after one month of usage, the reparation will be made for free but the customer will have to pay for the shipping cost.

The worst support service

I bought a Xiaomi smartphone at honorbuy, after 5 days and the first time and i tested i saw that the smartphone came with a defective, the mic didnt work. on 15th December i used the honorbuy system to contact honorbuy. The service just reply one email per day to me, that means to finally they understood that the smartphone was defective took me 8 days(eight) for them to realise that i need to send it back.

I immediately send it to Slovania and they received 6 days after. After that (we are talking 28th December) i´m waiting for honorbuy to send me a new phone. Have passed 10 days (i accept the christmas holidays, but not 10 days) and i still have very difficult to communicate with HonorBuy. They just reply one email per day, so after a sending a question i only receive the answer in the next day.

How Honorbuy can tell to a costumer to be patient when i bought the smartphone one month ago? In the last 8 days the only think that Honor buy is saying is that i should be patient and they are seeing.

i have tried to use Skype, send email, use the internal service to communicate.

I have all the records of the communication between me and honorbuy.

As a consumer i think that HonorBuy is not respecting me. If they send a defective smartphone and i inform them in less then 15 days (EU laws) they should try to solve this issue soon as possible.

Hi, we are sorry for the delay, we planed to ship the phone last week but we didn't, it's our fault. Your new phone will be shipped today asap, we'll give you the tracking number soon.

Regarding the emails, as I see in our system we received your first email on 15.12.2016 night, our support team had to ask you some questions to define the problem and see if it could be fixed without sending the phone back to us. We gave you the address to send back the phone on 20.12.2016 morning, that's 4-5 days, not 8 as you say in the message above. When we received the phone we had to test it and confirm the problem before sending you a new one. Our EU warehouse was closed around the Christmas and New Year holidays, part of our team was on vacation, we received a lot of packages late becasue the couriers were very busy in the last weeks, etc, all these factors causes some delays and few mistakes from our part. Anyway, we know that we have to improve our support service, it's hard to keep the costs down and offer a great service but we'll work on it.

Kind regards

Inexistent after sale service

hello,
after few weeks of deteriorating performance,
sadly and suddenly 3 weeks ago my Redmi2prime, with only 18months life, start a deeply sleeping.
the recovery (vol up+power) doesn't work.
the only door that look to work is the fastboot (vol down+power), but anything tried to send inside the 86047 or 88047 is without issue.

the idea is that something must be wrong in the hardware.

On 29th of November I sent an email to the customer service and on the 6th of December I sent a copy to the support of HONORBUY.COM, where I bought the Xiaomi.

I am very surprised!!!

I didn't get any answer so far!!!

because I stay for few months in Thailand, I contacted the Xiaomi Singapore customer service, to see if it was possible to send it there.
I have been answered that doesn't exist an international service for Xiaomi products.
they only take care of what they sold.

I am not criticizing, I am just informing other customers or possible customers or what is expecting them in case of problem.

of course I will keep informing as much people I can in the entire world and on all the forums of the web.
people like me, who bought a Xiaomi or want to buy a Xiaomi, must consider that without service, the economy of buying Xiaomi disappear immediately once you have a problem, doesn't matter if is your fault or not.
on the web it easy to discover that Xiaomi has the worst customer service OF THE WORLD !!!
It must be because they make official dealer company like HONORBUY.COM.
My experience tell me that it's better to pay a little more when you buy SAMSUNG, APPLE, HUAWEI,etc.. but to be sure that the next door seller you buy , is easily there in case of problem.
this issue is very important and is the "bubble" hiding behind the Xiaomi success, and it's going to blast sooner or later.

a really disappointed ex Xiaomi customer.

Still waiting!

I ordered by LETV LE2 (X620) on sep 26th, it has had hardware problems and been back and forth to slovenia service center twice, now on the way to China. (Honorbuy didn't even ask me if I was okay with them sending my property to China, they just did it).

The aftersale team applied for a replacement, but that was nearly 3 weeks ago and they have not replied to my most recent email.

So far I have paid:
Non-fucntioning Phone + accessories: €224.45
Shipping to and from slovenia first time: €36
Shipping to slovenia second time:€11.50 (didnt do T&T this time)
Total: €271.95

I have asked the team 3 times to provide me with a phone number so that I can speak to someone in person, as I am tired of waiting for emails each time-- however, they haven't provided me with one.

I'm not angry, just frustrated, and would just really like to have a working smartphone.

Dear customer, we are sorry about you issue, we'll try to solve it as soon as possible, you will receive an email by our support team in the next few hours.

I have to clarify some points you mentioned/criticize in your review:
We don't state that we have a reparation office in our EU warehouse, we just collect there the phones and we send them to China for further testing and reparation. We don’t have to ask customers if they want their phones to be shipped to China, this should be a normal procedure since we don't say that we have an EU service center. We test all the phones in our EU warehouse before forwarding them to our headquarter in China. Sometimes the problems can be solved just flashing the phone in our EU office, in this manner we avoid sending the phones to China (save time and money for both sides). If the phone can't be fixed in our EU warehouse we have to send it to China, but we don't ask the customers to pay for the shipping cost from EU to China (and then back from China to the EU warehouse), in this manner you also save money.

About your case:
1. Our team informed you by email that "They (EU warehouse team) found that the phone often reboot, and can be solved by flashing temporarily, after few days, the phone will reboot itself again. So they have to send the phone back to China to have a test further to see what happen with the phone and repair it.". So it's not true that we just did it without warning you.
2. The first time the phone arrived in our EU warehouse (with a custom ROM installed by you) we tested it and we solved the problem by flashing the phone, we couldn't knew that it will have the same problems in some days/weeks. We tested the phone after flashing and it worked fine for a while, unfortunately the phone has been fixed only temporary, we are sorry about that. Even if we had sent the phone to an official service center probably the problem would have been solved only with flashing, it's a normal procedure, no one test the phone for a 24/7 to check if it works well or make further reparations.
3. The second time the phone arrived to our EU warehouse on 11.11.2016, it has been tested again, then it has been shipped to China and it arrived on 7.12.2016. Unfortunately the package arrived late in China, that’s why we are thinking to give you a replacement and solve the situation as soon as possible, please speak about it with our support team by email.

Horrible aftersale support

So my camera stopped working, only 2 weeks after receiving the phone. I contacted them through the aftersale email, explaining the problem, and they asked me to flash the phone. I am no expert in this, but eventually I managed it. But it really seems that they want the clients to the their work for you. Despite this, nothing changed with the camera issue. But now, I have constant pop up messages from the Google Apps, saying that the Google play services aren't working! Instead of solving my problem, they gave me an additional one!
Finally, they said I had to send my phone back, in order to be seen by technicians. And they said that even if it was a hardware problem, they would only pay 20$ of the expenses!!! How ridiculous is this? They sell me a phone with issues and they want me to pay for the repair, even though this is their fault?

Please, also have in mind that they only send an email a day, so I have been talking to them for more than a week. They are really slow handling their clients when it comes to repairs.

Edit: It has been solved and I am receiving a new phone. In the end, the situation was solved, but only after a real slow exchange of emails.

Last update:
Deat Mr. Napoleão, we confirmed the phone problems, your phone will be replaced, our support team will contact you by email for all details.

First reply:
Dear customer, I'm very sorry about your situation and the problems you encountered with the support team. I asked more detail to my colleagues, they say that the reparation cost will be covered by the warranty (for free) if the phone is in good conditions and not damaged by you (opened, removed seals impact, water, fire, etc.). When we'll receive the phone we'll test it to see if it has not been damaged by you, we'll contact if we find any problem/damage which voids the warranty. I think that you missunderstood about the 20$. This money is related to the shipping cost from you to our service centre, if the phone is under warranty (not damaged by you) we can refund you max 20$ of the shipping price you paid.

To speed up the return we propose you to collect the package at your address with DHL (on our cost) and ship the phone from our EU warehouse to our service centre in China (also on our cost). This should be faster than a low cost registered mail from EU to China, my colleagues will contact you by email for the details.

Kind regards

Fast while everything in ok, unfortunatelly

I have ordered an Xiaomi phone a month ago. The phone was
delivered in one week and this was ok.
However the phone stopped working next morning in a way that it
would not go further from lock screen.
Tried everything but to no help. Phone remained with black screen.
Then i have contacted Honorbuy requesting help but their reply was
slow. Eventually reply came back and they suggested me to request
unlock the phone from Xiaomi and then to install new ROM!?

First of all unlock process from Xiaomi can be up to two weeks long.
Secondly it is assumed that i'm skilled to do installing the ROM.
Thirdly this is brand new phone and instead of replacing the phone
immediately or refunding me as they should they want me to act as
service technician for them.

Then they wanted for me to send only the phone to service.
Remember, this is brand new phone and they want to fix it, not replace it!!
Eventually they have agreed that i send the phone and all of it's
packaging back to service centre. In case of hardware fault they agreed
to refund me and refund me additional shipping cost to service.
So i have sent it and wait. It took them about a week to find out that
phone is indeed hardware malfunctioning and they offered me refund.
By this time i have already issued an PayPal dispute in a attempt to at
least get my money back. They have offered refund through PayPal
option and i have accepted it. However now they want me to close the
dispute in order to pay me the money.
I don't have such option in PayPal and cannot do anything.
However they still don't want to pay me back.

So current status:
The phone was used for half a day, stopped working and i have
returned it.
I have paid for the phone and for shipping the phone back.
I have accepted the refund offered for both costs.
No money have been returned, not for purchase, not for shipping back.

Waiting, but i don't know for how long or will i ever see at least the
money.
Very unprofessional..

PS: I have all the mail communication and communication from PayPal as a proof.

PPS: I will update this post if anything changes.

PPPS: Here is order reference as requested:143987. But i'm in everyday contact with your aftersale service anyway so this reference is well known unfortunately.

Update: PayPal escalated the case, and the refund was received subsequently for both costs.

Latest update: All expenses where covered, and after more discussion with aftersale support i have decided to alter rating. It is quite possible that some problems during this transaction where not directly linked to them.

Hi, my colleagues from the support team told me that they refunded you, you will receive your money back soon. We are sorry but in the first days when you open a Paypal dispute we were not able to refund you, this is the Paypal policy, not our fault. We are also sorry for the delayed refund, unfortunately we had problems with the payments because of some Paypal system errors (also not our fault). Usually the customers are refunded faster, especially if they don't issue a Paypal dispute.

Please, since the delayed refund is not our fault we kindly ask you to remove or change your Trustpilot review/comment.

About the device and service: we are sorry about the defective phone and other issues, you surely understand that we have to check the device, try to understand what's wrong, if the problem has been caused by the customer or it's a factory defect, if the problem can be solved via software or not, etc. These inspections need some time to be performed, we can't just give a new phone or refund the customer without checking the defective device. We also ask or customers to try to solve the problem before sending the phone to our service center to save time. Sometimes the problems can be easily solved with a device flash, reinstalling/changing the ROM, etc.
Surely we have to improve our support service, we will work to offer a better and faster service in the future.

Kind Regards

fast shipping, no vendor rom installed on phone

I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro from Honorbuy from their EU warehouse via DHL express. It was some 30 euros more expensive than with other sellers but I thought it was worth the promised quick delivery and avoiding paying taxes and waiting from customs clearance (I live inside the EU). I placed my order on 16.9. (Friday night). They updated the order status on 18.9. (Sunday morning) and the phone was in my hands on 20.9. (Tuesday afternoon).

I had read about sellers installing custom roms on phones so I asked if I could get mine in a factory-sealed box. HB replied that the phones from their EU Warehouse come with a global rom, only phones ordered from China could be left in a sealed box. I didn't change my order because of the reasons I mentioned above and thought that I will just have to flash the phone with an official rom myself if it comes with a vendor rom. When I got the phone, much to my surprise, it came with a clean miui.eu rom installed so I could start using it straight away and update ota. I have only used my phone for 24+ hours, but so far nothing out of order has appeared.

I am very pleased with Honorbuy, they were fast to answer my emails and the shipment was extremely quick and on top of everything no vendor rom with bloat- or adware.

Terrible after sale service

Got a Xiaomi Mi5 smartphone in 08.11.2016 who arrived defective. The fingerprint sensor never worked, even after the OS upgrade via OTA for MIUI 8 Global version.
Everything else worked fine, including weekly updates of the OS until seven days ago when the child mode randomly activated and completely blocked the operation of the phone as you can see from the video they asked me to do in youtu be/Rm5BrS0veXs
Proceeded to a complaint to activate the warranty and since then it's just excuses.
If the activation of the guarantee is taking seven days allready, to repair will take forever.
This device comes blocked from factory and without the unlock code provided by Xiaomi you can not do anything (flash the rom, recovery mode or factory reset), as the unit is blocked by the child mode there is no way to enter this code.
It is obvious that the smartphone have to go to the official service of the brand (china) because only they can solve the problem but Honorbuy is doing everything to prevent this from happening.
I have enough internet shopping experience at almost all major online Chinese shops and can say that the process of sales always went well with all but now I had my first complaint problem and will be the last because these stores only interests is sell.
Be warned, the Honorbuy.com formerly known as Xiaomistore.com does not meet the security policies regarding warranty issues.
So there are no excuses from them to my order No. 142196 of 11.08.2016 and so far i have sent six emails in seven days against four replays from them and the response in two of them said practically the same and solutions .... zero.

Mi5 restarting problem//ORDER 143786 2016-08-31

Four days ago I got my new cell phone MI5, purchased by Honorbuy.
ORDER 143786 2016-08-31 After a minutes of work (didn't put Sim card inside wanted to configure) I was disappointed when the cell phone in my hands for no reason restarted. After finished booting and entering the first configuration (language selection etc.) the screen froze for a few seconds and then it rebooted again. Such restarting continued after the update.
Yesterday during the day at different stages of standstill and use of mobile phones restarted it about 15 times.
Sometimes it restarts idle while nobody touches. I leave on the table, when I get back I see that I have to enter the password for the SIM card.
Therefore, the cell phone is almost unusable.
I can not repair by myself, I want to return it back because, I got it defective condition.
I sent a similar message to several addresses for customer support of Honorbuy site, but for a three days I did not get any answer from Honorbuy.
I ask them a procedure and the address, where I can return to mobile phone in original packaging to replace it for newone.
But I didn`t get any answer yet.

Phone purchase

Well, everything went smoothly for me, I got the phone I ordered, in the same color I ordered it, and in perfect condition. The tracking worked perfectly, though they forgot to convey my message to DHL that I wrote in the message field, but it was only a minor hindrance. (I called DHL, when realized the mistake on their tracking site, and sorted it out in no time.) Nevertheless, this is the only reason that I did not give a perfect rating. I would order from honorbuy.com again - without hesitation -, if the need arose, but this is based on my personal good experience. Since I had no issues with my product yet, I cannot tell, how easy it is to resolve them, but in case I will have any, I will update this review to reflect my experience.

No full refund

Does not accept payment by credit cards, but still debit your account, hence when refund is issued, they do not cover the fees (that may not be negligible). Also poor communication about the reason of the transaction denial.

Screen arrived broken- replacement has stalled.

I ordered a Xiaomi Note Pro screen, which took more than a month to arrive. I delivered the screen to a professional company to change the screen despite the YouTube video DIY lesson. I gave the same YouTube video to the technician, but this was not necessary as he was very competent. The screen did not power up. Three other technicians and ten days at the workshop could not solve the problem. I have sent a complaint but been told repeatedly to send a 'video' or photos of the problem ! So I sent a photo of a dismantled phone! It is pushing two months now.....No easy return on defective goods policy and time delays makes me doubt I will ever buy Xiaomi again-despite it being, when working a good Android phone. What a pity.
