Lovely place to stay

We had a lovely, relaxing 3 night stay in Mole Cottage. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. It had everything we wanted and needed for a comfortable short stay. The location is very rural (which we wanted) and is within easy central reach of all parts of the Norfolk coast. A delightful place to stay and come back to, after our days out visiting Sandringham (an absolute must do!) and exploring Sheringham, Cromer and the surrounding area.

We enjoyed the peacefulness of the…

We enjoyed the peacefulness of the bungalow and the private garden and beautiful trees and wildlife. We even saw a deer! It was nice to have a table and chairs (especially comfortable ones with arms!) In the garden, the washing line with many pegs was so useful. It was nice to have a park a few steps away and the location is good, a quiet residential area but 3 min drive to the local shops. A good base for exploring Thetford. The bedrooms were lovely, modern, clean and light and the beds were very clean and comfortable. There is a good amount of storage in the twin room. Nice modern bathroom. We liked having a table in the kitchen and living room. It is a lovely light, airy and clean bungalow. We appreciated the use of what looks like a brand new washing machine and also to have a parking space in the driveway (albeit narrow!) The kitchen was well resourced and we appreciated the touches like oven gloves, dishcloth, tea towel and fairy liquid.
There are some small things that would have made our stay even more enjoyable (but not deal breakers and would still come again!): the double bedroom didn't have a bedside cabinet both sides of the bed which made things a bit difficult, also there is no storage in there for clothes, not even hooks! It needs some drawers, rail, or small wardrobe or something to store clothes and other bits. The bedrooms would also benefit from a mirror eg full length mirror in each bedroom. Trays would be useful to carry food and drinks to the garden and it would be useful to have some lights in the back garden, eg solar lights, fairy lights, outside light etc as it's such a lovely place to sit and maybe reclining chairs to enjoy the garden more.

It would be useful to have hooks on the doors or over door books esp in bathroom, to hang your clothes while showering etc.

The kitchen could do with a bit of updating as the rest of the bungalow seems more modern and updated. I struggled with a smell in the living room. I don't know what it was, we kept the windows open. It smelt like animals or something. Maybe the carpets and sofas need a deep clean? Some rugs were stained eg hallway and double bedroom, and there were stained cups and pans and we had to wash the oven gloves on arrival as they had gravy or the like on them! We bought some pan scourers to clean the cups, which helped. A toilet roll holder on the wall in the bathroom would have been helpful. I assumed there would be an iron and ironing board available but we couldn't see any. Also, a clothes horse would be useful for inside drying on rainy days.
HOWEVER, these are small things and did not spoil our stay. We would still come back again and had a lovely, restful stay!

Great little place

Great little place. Modern, clean and well equipped apartment set in a nice courtyard complex. Ten minute walk from the town, with three lovely dog friendly pubs on the way , nice and quiet at night. Parking spot was a little tight for a large car but can be done as finding a parking spot off sight is near impossible.

What a lovely cottage...

What a lovely cottage in a lovely location. Nice and remote; exactly what we needed for a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage was clean and (most of) the facilities were spot on. Our 3 star review however is due to the fact that although the property was advertised with WiFi included, there was a fault with the connection which remained unresolved all week, despite daily requests to get it sorted. In this day and age, WiFi is a pre-requisite and had we known that it wasn't available we wouldn't have booked this cottage. Being in a remote location, the mobile signal was decidedly patchy too. This may sound trivial, however the lack of WiFi was a major problem as we needed to be in contact with elderly relatives daily, and although it was a vacation, we needed to also be in contact with our employers due to the nature of our work.

Property was well situated and parking was easy! The process of checking in and out was simple and efficient.
Few things I would like to say to consider for improvements…..
Bedrooms are lacking mirrors and with the only mirror being in the bathroom it makes it difficult.
Fan in double room was noisy and no fan in main room.
Big of a musty smell on arrival not very welcoming and cleaning was not great with oven and floors lacking detailed cleans.
Overall good stay and experience

Great Airbnb

Stayed in Ross's View Apartment 2 (with parking) over the Whitby regatta weekend. What a fantastic location walking distance to the harbor and local restaurants. The accommodation was immaculate, with everything you would need, very clean and beautifully decorated. Perfect. Thank you.

Sadly, too hot, too noisy, poor parking!

Sadly, our stay was ruined by the heating being left on full blast. It was 32 degrees outside and the whole place was like a sauna. We contacted Host & Stay who eventually sent someone to rectify the issue but the heaters in the living room took 2 days to cool down! This made using this room impossible and we had to sit in the bedroom or go out.
It was a lovely kitchen / living area but unusable for the duration of our stay.
We also booked this apartment as it had parking included. Only to be emailed a couple of days before to say parking was suitable for one ‘compact car’. As a Landrover driver I had no chance and ended up paying an additional £52 in parking elsewhere.
We were also not impressed by the noise of the doors - the heavy, automatically closing fire doors slammed every time someone went through ( throughout the whole building ) - this woke us up several times in the night as people came in.
It’s a good location but too hot, noisy and poor parking means I wouldn’t come back. Not for us!

Excellent property

Excellent property, it exceeded my expectations!
The flat was exceptionally clean, brand new appliances and plenty of crockery.
The place is a credit to the owners.
Only downside was the garage parking is only suitable for a small car (VW golf maximum).
Would definitely recommend the flat and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Kestrel lodge (Allerthorpe)

We have just arrived home after a 2 night stay at The kestrel lodge at Allerthorpe golf and country park. The park itself is absolutely pristine and well presented and staff on site at the club were great. We booked a lodge for a relaxing get away for a few nights for me, my wife and 2 kids. Specifically with a hot tub. When we arrived at the lodge itself however we found the cleanliness stopped at the park and not into the lodge itself. The hot tub had hair and fluff scattered on the bottom, and bits floating around in the water. The rear patio doors did not lock which meant everytime we went out we took a gamble with valuables. The previous occupants must of had a dog as there was mucky prints on the doors. After we unpacked the children put their cases under the bed, only to find numerous wrappers, babybel wax wrapper and sanitary towel paper wrappers. On the map we were given it showed us to be the end lodge which we thought great, nice and secluded. However when pulling up we realised the park was extending (not an issue as we understood things expand.) however Thursday morning we were greeted with numerous work men, drilling, angle grinder and radios. Again we aren’t oblivious these things happen but if we were made aware works were been carried out so close the lodge we would have looked elsewhere. This resulted in my wife and daughter been too conscious to get into the hot tub and the noise too loud we had to go out for the full afternoon. Considering we paid a over £200 a night including‘ accidental damage we felt a little short changed. But to end on a positive note, the connecting water park and pub down the road were both lovely and maybe another year later we wouldn’t of been faced with these issues. I’d love for a member of the main team to contact me regarding the above.
