The repair guide, replacement screen, and tools were excellent!

I purchased a battery that has very poor performance and clear defects. Despite this, the company continues to carry out repeated technical assessments as if this were a 10k purchase. In the meantime, I remain without a working solution and continue to be affected by the issue.

We purchased a replacement MacBook Air battery from iFixit several years ago and followed all installation and post‑installation charging instructions exactly.

Unfortunately, after around 18 months of normal use, the battery stopped holding a charge, similar to the original battery it replaced, which had lasted roughly eight years. Because the iFixit battery was over 12 months old, it was no longer covered under warranty.

Based on this experience, I would recommend opting for an original manufacturer battery instead. Although the upfront cost may be higher, the longer lifespan makes it more cost‑effective in the long run.

The screen and video tutorial was quality. The separate/costly/optional repair kit was just about no help. I wish I had reviewed the video tutorial before purchasing so I knew not to buy the optional repair kit. The kit did not include the featured suction cup within the video. Instead, it included the alt suction cup that was in the documentation. It was very difficult to use. The iOpener is a waste. Per a lot of the reviews, used a hair dryer instead. Did not need 2/3rds of the included tools.

I don’t consider myself an electrical engineer or good with electronics. But this ifixit kit was perfectly designed to help me succeed in replacing my battery! The step by step instructions and helpful videos led me well. The satisfaction of the phone working is a testimony to the quality of the product. I highly recommend it!

So bad I wish I never did it myself.

My Macbook pro M1 2021 battery was showing "service needed". So explored the options briefly and I wanted to give ifixit a try cause I liked the idea of repairing it myself and also be less impactful on environment since Apple replace the whole top, keyboard and screen.

I received my ifixit battery and I managed to install the first battery in less than 30 minutes!

No issues so far, after calibrating it the battery started behaving a bit weird.

Programs freezing, draining super fast when lower than 10%, 5% battery health lost in the fist 24h, not turning on anymore after a full discharge, charging at 6W instead of 140W.

First the last 10% started draining super fast, until one day that i decided to let it drain to 0% it won't turn on again the next day.

Thankfully I've ordered a replacement cause the first battery not only was behaving badly lower than 10% but also charged sooo slow (6W vs 140W).

I replaced the second battery, same problems.

So I decided to return everything and go for an original replacement.

Here's the surprise of all: Apple won't replace it even by paying it.

They don't take responsibility for a non original replacement and so I'm in a limbo now.

If only I knew this before doing the work, I won't never do it myself.

I did it for the environment and I ended up in a limbo and a sh*tty battery and a Pro machine that is not going to perform like a Pro machine anymore.

Do yourself a favor and go for a genuine part.
260$ of savings is not worth the hassle.

Decided to order a replacement battery to give new life to my Pixel6a. The process was very clear and by taking it slow and steady the repair went great. The written guide with pictures from IFixit was very precise. I did however follow along with another video on YouTube as I found the one from IFixit insufficient. All in all would definitely order from this website again in the future.

I've done this before. The Mac just needed a new battery to extend its life. The iFixit battery was exactly the version I needed for my model MacBook Air. The online guide was spot-on in helping complete the repair/upgrade in 15 minutes. My Mac battery life has gone from <2 hours to over 5-½ hours! Thanks iFixit for providing the parts and guidance.

Price was affordable and instructions were clear. Unfortunately the work had to be broke down into two days, so remembering what had already been done was a challenge. Once back on track, everything ran smooth and the laptop works perfectly.

The item arrived a few days earlier than expected. It was a new/not-refurbished item and worked perfectly.

Installation was straightforward, and the battery performed well initially. However, after around 18 months, it began to deteriorate significantly.

Now, nearly two years on, the battery drops from 100% to 5% in about 10 minutes, making the laptop practically unusable without constant charging.

This is very disappointing, especially as I followed the installation instructions precisely. I expected the battery to last much longer than this.

So far, so good! Battery was easy to install with a T5 torq. Hoping for longevity!
