About Incogni

Written by the company

Incogni, a tool that helps prevent your personal information from being stored and sold by data brokers.

Upon the customers’ request, the tool identifies and communicates with dozens of data broker companies, so that the person’s details can be deleted from their databases.

Leading names in the data brokerage industry currently own data on hundreds of millions of consumers, some boasting up to 1500 data points per consumer.

With the introduction of GDPR and CCPA, all these companies are subject to giving or deleting information they hold on the person if they receive a formal request.

However, contacting each firm could take ages due to the excessive response frameworks companies have crafted and perfected.

Surfshark’s team of researchers contacted 36 data broker companies on their own to show how difficult this process can be. To get a final response took a little over 6 days from our first letter with each new data broker and more than 20 days with each established one.

Furthermore, 63% of the large data brokers asked for additional personal data which is not necessary to complete the inquiry (outside of ID copy), asking for a bank statement or even e-signature and thus prolonging the procedure.

“Data privacy is becoming an increasingly alarming issue, yet many people are still unaware of the hidden market that data brokers operate in,” – points out Vytautas Kaziukonis, Chief Executive Officer of Surfshark.

“As the sensitivity and scope of data they possess widen, so does the need to be able to opt-out of it. However, based on recent studies, the actual process of taking back data is an extremely tedious procedure, which requires legal knowledge and lots of persistence.

“Incogni aims to help users opt-out of these practices more efficiently and exercise their legal right to privacy easily.”

The Incogni privacy tool is available for purchase at the official link: https://incogni.com.

They went to work immediately and they…

They went to work immediately and they are always on top of things. I receive updates on the spam and sites that have my personal information where they have gotten them to take me off their list. I would recommend this company for its professional services

Incogni = highly suspect company. Suspect business practices

Technology Expert, Kim Komando, used to advocate for and recommend Incogni as her go-to, personal data privacy, surveillance, and personal data removal product/service.

Instead, things changed, and she now, unwaveringly, recommends NORD Protect/NORD Security.

I have been a customer of Incogni for years. I am now highly skeptical of continuing my previously, long-standing relationship with Incogni. Despite Incogni’s claims about their personal data surveillance, I did a Google Search of my name, and immediately discovered compromising personal data, clearly visible to the public, on Google, DESPITE PAYING INCOGNI a substantial monthly fee to monitor/protect my personal data.

I contacted Incogni via chat, advised them that Radaris has my personal information clearly visible on the web (Google Search) and requested that they take action to remove it. Incogni gave me a bunch of crap, told me that they could not make such a request, that that process is automated, and that Radaris *****recently began***** to be monitored by Incogni. I cannot believe that a company the size and as vicious as Radaris was not at the top of Incogni’s surveillance list, and only ****recently began to be monitored by Incogni*****.

I am following Kim Komando’s suggestion, and signing up with NORD Protect/NORD Security, following a special offer from her website. I am done with Incogni.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and that you’re feeling let down after being with Incogni for years.

It’s important to clarify that Incogni is a data broker removal service. We don’t remove information directly from Google or “monitor and block” what appears in search results in real time. What we do is submit legal data deletion requests to the data brokers we cover and follow up until they comply. When a broker removes or updates your information, Google can still show it for a while because search results often rely on cached versions of pages.

With Radaris specifically, if your information is showing on a Radaris page, the key is removing it at the source. Once the Radaris listing is removed, Google typically updates over time. If you still see the result after the source is gone, Google also offers a “remove outdated content” process to speed up the update.

We’d like a chance to review your case and verify what you’re seeing with Radaris, including whether there are multiple listings or a cached result involved. Please contact our support team at support@incogni.com.

Disappointing

I had this for one year & was disappointed as there was no noticeable difference in the amount of junk emails I was getting in fact towards the end of my subscription I was getting more emails than ever…. The report they give you monthlyis probably AI generated & you really don’t know if they are telling the truth…. & much of there so called removal tools are more than likely AI robots…
Then it’s only for certain countries so if your a frequent traveler then it’s useless. Sadly there is no real decent tool out there that stops all the spam mails & you are better off using the tools on your email address support networks. I never got many unwanted calls so there was no differences here. I can not recommend this to anyone as it just didn’t work for me & money down the drain at the end of the day. But if it works for then congratulations.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear Incogni didn’t meet your expectations.

Incogni is a data broker removal service, so it doesn’t block spam emails directly. What it does is remove your personal data from data broker databases over time, reducing your digital footprint and limiting how widely your details can be found and resold, which can help decrease spam in the long run. Results can vary depending on where the spam is coming from, for example older mailing lists, prior consent, or large scale spam campaigns that don’t rely on broker databases. We understand how disappointing it is to use the service for a year and not see a noticeable improvement.

If you’re open to it, we’d like to look into your case and understand what happened. Please contact our support team at support@incogni.com.

Well worth it

I signed up for Incogni almost a year ago and I truly appreciate how simple the product is. Didn’t take much time at all to set up and gives me peace of mind that my personal data is being protected. I’ve noticed significantly fewer spam texts and calls.

I signed up with Incogni, July 2024

I signed up with Incogni end of July 2024 to stop the spam/junk mail I was receiving at the time. I was receiving many emails a day, but up to about two weeks where I was receiving about to 10 emails a day, to receiving none. It does take time to have your data to be removed but it's worth every penny/cent for their services.

Rid of stalkers

Incogni has controlled the amount of false data about me that appears online. I feel more relaxed about my computer experience because stalkers are being eliminated from my life.

You get good value for what you pay…

You get good value for what you pay for, and the customer service has been excellent. It does not hit every data broker out there, but for the majority of people that's good enough. I've had them for about a year now, and they are good at keeping things suppressed after getting something taken down. Tracking and taking everything down yourself is a pain, but it's not impossible. I previously was doing all of this manually every day, but life just gets busier.
