SCAMMERS! Got to Prague and was given a different car with some vague explanation that didn’t make any sense. Was then hit with a £230 extra ‘insurance’ due to the UK no longer being in the EU, even though since Brexit we regularly travel to the Czech Republic and always hire cars with no extra insurance. Never use this company!!!

Just 1 hour before pick up time I recive message on WhatsApp they are soory, my car was cancelled and for refund I need to contact booking.com and also suggest I book car elsewhere.

Hired a car which didn’t have any documents , no paperwork given or proof of hire at all!
Staff isn’t knowledgeable and don’t even speak proper English or Czech !
Absolute rip off as at the end got charged £50 for dirty car ! If I knew I have to clean the car before return I would never even hired from them as of course the cars will get dirty in the rain! This wasn’t stated in any paperwork (no paperwork ) yet taken from my account without any consent !
Will never use again and would highly recommend to avoid !

I never heard of this company, but saw a really good price for car rental through Rentalcars.com. Oddly they are not on other consolidators. The reviews are mixed as is often the case, so I went ahead and booked.

Then I saw a note about Panek terms and conditions, and there in the small print is a heading "Valeting at 24 euro per hour up to a maximum of 127 euro".

I contacted Rentalcars.com, who boast that there are no hidden charges, and initially they told me this was a charge if I returned the car overly dirty. But I pointed out the terms didnt say that, so they checked with Panek in Prague airport.

And it turns out that Panek have a charge of €50 per car per rental for cleaning. So add €50 to your bottom line, and you will find they are more expensive than most, at least for short rentals.

everything was ok. honest guys. they also speak english. if you book via third party get in touch with them to make sure you get the map where to find the office.

Avoid if you do not want to loose money. Very bad customer service, they have unclear wording in rental agreement so they use it against you, they charge you extra for everything (even cleaning car from outside). Staff at Prague airport not helpful. Car we got was covered in scratches etc.. Mr.Kohmenko, who works there, did not mention anything we just found out when we checked a car. Tyres in bad conditions. Mr. Kohmenko confirmed us twice that a car has toll ticket paid which it didn't. Then he was refusing he said that. We were charged 1500CZK for car external cleaning. If you are fan of hidden fees, tricky agreement wording and rude staff, go for it. Most of good reviews you find are written by Mr. Kohmenko himself, staff and his friends so they are not true at all.

I confirm that all was OK. Good a new car, good condition. Some inconveniences (parking on 11th floor, not clear how to get on parking lot on returning (need to press Info button to call security), a week to get deposit returned), but those are minor. All inclusive insurance is very expensive, consider to buy from another insurer. Do not forget to buy vignette for toll roads.

I wish I read reviews before booking with Panek. Price at the beginning of booking was very attractive BUT then I got charged a year worth car insurance for 6 days of rental and I also got charged another 1635Kč for cleaning the car after I returned the car in exact same condition as I got it, I never even ate in this car and I got pictures send of food on the floor, not off me! Also there is absolute ZERO customer service, nobody answering phone or replying to texts. Zero information about where you are supposed to drop car off in the end of rental. Also there has been no necessary documents so if I got stopped by police I would face big fine and points on my licence!! I do NOT recommend!!!!!! There are better car hires at Prague airport, don't use this one.

Update added: this company tried to charge my card again 1660Kč for no reason a month after rental, for no reason and no explanation. As soon as I noticed and contacted them, this payment was withdrawn. Scammers, do not use this service.

Avoid this rental company! We had booked a premium SUV, but this was not available upon arrival. Instead we got a car from a lower class without any cost reduction. The car gave warnings about worn out brake pads, low tire pressure and the car smelled from cigarettes. After we returned the car they also charged us 100€ for a hidden cleaning fee. I made sure to ask them during delivery if there was any extra fees and they said no. When I called Panek to complain after I had discovered they had withdrawn money the day after delivery they just said I was welcome to file a complaint. Most unprofessional car rental company I have ever experienced! Stay away!

Multitude of hidden charges! Supposedly cheap car rentals, in reality midrange prices for poor service. The extra charges together more than doubled the cost of 1 week rental. “Late collection” - despite collecting the car exactly on time at the contracted time, “highway fee not included” – had to start the trip by stopping at the nearest petrol pump to purchase a highway ticket, “cleaning fee” charged from the deposit, enormously high for a car that was used just by me and kept in a very good condition. I am not going to use this car rental ever again.
