Don’t know about the paid version but the free version is absolutely unwatchable. It’s like being back in the days before video recorders when you had to sit through every over-long and tedious ad bre... See more

utterly terrible viewing experience. Freezing ridiculous amount of ads, pretty unwatchable

This really is the worst service and the editing for ads seems to be done by a child. They clearly don’t care as it hasn’t improved at all.
No ad subscription increased by 20%, and now includes ads!!!
So, I've been paying to not have commercials, for about three years now.
The price has just gone up to £5.99. A 20% increase, and yet, you've now started including mandatory TV ads, for programs I have ZERO interest in, and can't skip them.
Who's ridulously stupid idea was this???
I can tolerate the price increase, but I'm not tolerating the cr@p enforcment of rubbish TV shows.
Yes, this has made me very angry. If this hasn't changed by the end of March 2026, you can shove your subscription where the sun doesn't shine, and I'll just delete the app and stop watching any of your shows. There are plenty more TV shows available these days.
Awful.
I feel like I need to review ITVx because I feel outraged with them. Firstly, the app is atrocious - it freezes, goes blank mid programme, prevents you from continue watching from where you left off, takes you back to the home page mid programme, the volume malfunctions and it takes you back to terrestrial TV when you're watching a programme in the app. This is a persistent issue that makes watching programmes on the app pointless because it is so frustrating and annoying, and it's been going on since the app first appeared.
Secondly, I am furious that ITV have prevented BT customers from fast forwarding through advertisements. I can only assume that BT have been paid a substantial amount of money for this. My monthly payment as a BT customer is already too high, we have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a TV licence, and now if I want the freedom to skip through advertisements I have to pay ITV a monthly fee to do so on the app, and don't get that option on terrestrial TV (although I have a feeling that it won't be long before they offer the chance for customers to pay a fee in order to skip through ads). This is in my opinion, disgraceful. Yet again, it is profit before people. And the laughable thing is, the app doesn't even work properly. ITV should be ashamed about this - they don't care about their customers, they care about money. I no longer watch anything on ITV, and if there is something I would like to watch I purchase on Blu-Ray because it's cheaper and I can watch it as many times as I like for free, without ads.
Ad Free Con
Paid for ad free to binge watch the first series I have sat down to in ages. Each 1 hour episode is interrupted 4 times by excessive and loud trailers for their other shows. It's totally ruined the flow of the show. I pay for ad free because I don't want interruptions of any kind, not just ads. If they must do trailers, do them at the start! Fortunately we only bought the monthly option so we have cancelled and I won't be using ITV again. Found somewhere to download it online, so ITV are doing themselves out of revenue 🤷

Payment was taken twice £59.99 that's £119.98 trying to get one off the payment back is a nightmare.

What the hell as happened to ITVX
What the hell as happened to ITVX . You can't search anything and you can't even get to the help page....I want to cancel my subscription ASAP but the so called ITVX help page is blank so nobody can make an complaint! I'm more than furious...BBC iplayer is so much better than ITVX and have so much more to offer! The only reason I watch itv is to catch up with emmerdale and coronation st...literally fuming with ITVX 😡😡😡

ITVX should carry a health warning
Talking of ‘contractual obligations’ if I was distributing productions I would not want a disgracefully bad service that is ITVX turning my productions into visual chop suey. Slow loading, constant scrolling, broken connections leading to fresh log ins and searches, incorrect episode returns, incorrect watched markers, and useless forward/back control amongst many frustrations. I have just watched 12 episodes of a drama with the no ads paid sub. This involved all the aforesaid problems turning the task into an annoying and time consuming experience, but I was also forced to watch 84 trailers! Repetitive trailers for productions already watched, ones I would never watch, and ones I already knew about and did not need endlessly reminding about. I have a terminal health problem. I cannot believe how I allowed ITVX to waste my precious time, and I paid for the privelege.
Worst streaming service
Worst streaming service. Iplayer and the rest work fine so it's not my tv or broadband connection. Its a joke.
Very poor app
Very poor app
You’d think itv would have better technology,
Throws you off while watching
Would not recommend installing
If I could give 1 star I would
If I could give 1 star I would.
Full of adverts constantly- even if you rewind back you have to rewatch the same run of adverts. They do not look or listen to reviews because not only on here but also on the App Store the reviews are shocking. Sort it out.
ITVX
ITVX is the worst streaming app I've ever used. The list of complaints is endless, I won't bore you with it. The latest one, today I found that my "continue watching" list has disappeared and the the latest programme, instead of being today, has reverted to May last year. Please get some professional people to work on the app.
Worst app EVER
Worst app EVER. Absolute rubbish. If you pause/rewind or fast forward it completely throws you out then starts the program from the beginning all over again. I won't use it again. The most frustrating app I have ever used. Ive now deleted it. Fix up itvx it's embarrassing for you. Dont bother downloading
Absolutely rubbish app.AWFUL
Absolutely rubbish app.
Completely uncontrollable.
Forced restarts; repeated exposure to adverts.
Absolute customer abuse.
Take lessons from iPlayer; at least you might then get a recording to watch when you’re ready.
Avoid this insulting app to reduce frustration.
