My vet…once a privately owned…

My vet…once a privately owned veterinary practice but unfortunately taken over by by IVC Evidensia the prices have continued to rise in a disproportionate way. The vets are exceptional, their “bosses” unfortunately are not. I’ve just received an unsolicited email from IVC Evidensia telling me what to do & why my dogs are moulting 😳🤪 WHAT??? I’ve never subscribed to anything, although when I went to ‘unsubscribe’ it was ridiculously complicated, with many options to choose from…all marketing, sharing my details with goodness knows…I believed sending unsolicited emails was illegal in the UK.Tomorrow I will be contacting IVC Evidensia through The Chocolate Factory in Keynsham to find out what’s going on. I am absolutely livid 🤬

I eventually moved to an independent…

I eventually moved to an independent vet after much searching, they are hard to find these days. My IVC Vet in Beccles then made me pay back all my claims on their Pet Health Club before they would terminate the contract. Cost me over £110 just to leave their practice. Corporate greed at its finest from IVC / Summit, after spending over £4000 in the last year and 20 years business. I am a 75 year old pensioner but they needed to suck the last ounce of blood as I walked out the door, and in 7 days if you please.

Our little kitten had been slowly…

Our little kitten had been slowly getting very quiet, laying down a lot and not wanting to do anything. Took her to Crown Vets, (an IVC practice). The first bet we saw out of hours was absolutely great, can't fault the care. The second vet the next day was ok but nothing great and didn't seem to want to do much. Unfortunately we had to have her put to sleep due to the issues she had, which would have if treated just prolonged her issues. The problem is not so much the vets, but the outrageous prices over £150 to have A kitten put to sleep. When asked if they have PDSA care was flatly told NO! Even though both IVC and PDSA on both sites say they do! We are on benefits so money is tight at the best of times, but this attitude is just taking advantage of people. Clearly they are told to stop this.

Excessively high bill

Ridiculously high vet bill,,I was curious to find out who independent vetcare were,,and its not pleasant reading, just stinking rich businesses taking over the smaller veterinary practices,I boxing day i had to take my my dog for further i investigations for a cough, out of hours, the price of all the treatment and sadly euthanasia was well over £1399. This clearly shws that they have no "care and compassion" when its a very sad ending to your belived pet,,in my case my large breed assistance dog..
I will be sharing this info about this company with friends who have pets and to get them to make sure they are with an independent veterinary practice and not owned by IPC LTD.

Chapelfield vets owned by IVC have…

Chapelfield vets owned by IVC have blacklisted me from all IVC vets in the country as I complained about their clinical negligence, rudeness and deceitful behaviour towards me and my staff.
My dogs now have no vet because of the practice manager at Chapelfield long stratton blacklisting my name. I am a 5 star licenced breeder and have spent thousands of pounds with IVC over the years. I take the health and welfare of my dogs very seriously.
I have been advised by Three Rivers practice in lowestoft to make a formal complaint to IVC regarding everyone that has been involved in this awful vendetta against me.
Matthew Simpson clinical director at Chapelfield vets knows me very well. He has been my vet for many many years. I am positive that he would be shocked by the way I have been treated.
The practice manager at Chapelfield vets Long Stratton have blacklisted my name and address with vets owned by IVC in the entire country.
They refused to treat 9 sick puppies which caused 4 of the puppies to suffer and die.
The practice manager covered up their incompetence with lies and then banned me from every vet in the country.
IVC who is owned by Nestle care very little for their loyal customers or the dogs they treat.
They cover up their incompetence with lies and this was from one of their female clinical directors who bare faced lied saying she offered antibiotics on the first appointment when she 100% didn't.
The clinical director allowed 4 puppies to suffer and die as they refused to prescribe antibiotics until it was too late.
I had to beg for antibiotics every day which was finally prescribed after 5 days and 4 puppies had already died.
The vet misdiagnosed the 5 remaining puppies saying that they would all die.
After just one dose of antibiotics the remaining 5 puppies improved immediately which proves that if the antibiotics had been prescribed earlier the dead puppies would have survived.
Then because I complained I have been blacklisted from every IVC vets in England.
I am grateful that you record your calls as you will have evidence of me begging for antibiotics for days on end.
Shame on you Chapelfield vets Long Stratton. I invested an awful lot of time money and trust in you and I feel severely let down.

Money over care for animals.

As stated in many of the reviews on IVC, check to see if your vets belong to this group. Practices have to follow a protocol which focus's on making money rather than pet care. We have lost 2 pets recently where quicker diagnosis would have led to the animals suffering less and one possibly surviving. We requested certain tests to be carried out but were told they were not necessary yet were carried out later when it was to late. Why? £££££! Thats why. Stick to local independant vets.

Pets awful suffering by Rowe Vets errors

This company own Rowe Vets, who refused emergency care twice for my dog, third occasion I had to force the issue. This followed with several errors on Rowes behalf for which no has taken accountability or been apologetic for what actually happened.
On contacting ivc evidensia about this they have offered to undertake a review, but should already be fully aware of the situation as owner of Rowes, and have give no assurance of this.

Looking at rowes trust pilot reviews my situation is not a one off.

They haven't responded to my latest contact basically leaving me no option but legal action from which I could lose everything I own just to do the right thing to ensure this does not happen to another pet to horrifically suffer unnecessarily

What a disaster and disgusting…

What a disaster and disgusting operating scam.
My dog got injured himself in the paw. We’ve been to many vets all around the Netherlands and from Zuilech they send us here.
There is no solution. They took 1100€ for the CT scan on Tuesday 15 October and said they will come with evaluation and diagnosis today, and so far I didn’t hear anything. Called them twice was pushed through the line. They don’t have a photo!
I wasn’t present at the first time so my girlfriend left my dog for 4hours, went back Traumatised!!! He is even afraid of the doors. God know what they did to him.
Still can’t get the photo, and ask for photo as I paid for that and want to move my dog to proper hospital. STAY AWAY FROM THEM FOR LIFE OF YOUR BELOVED ONES.

IVC systemically destroys UK Vet Practices

This company systematically destroys veterinary practices by squeezing staffing levels to unmanageable levels, increasing prices for clients and decreasing levels of service. It’s only a matter of time before a patient gets hurt due to stretched staffing but they are being put in an impossible position by this company and just trying to do their best. Owned overseas which is where all the money goes but systemically ruining our veterinary services in the UK for vet staff, clients and patients. As a member of staff I have seen a thriving referral hospital with a happy team doing great work for their patients disintegrated by this company to a few miserable souls, angry clients and unhappy patients within 2 years. IVC are destructive, don’t believe their marketing hype because that’s all it is.

Milan Vets

Milan Vets, Isle of Man. Have been a customer for over 10 years. They diagnosed my cat with dental decay. They told me to contact their other practice Arg Beiyn to book in a dental x-ray and possible extractions. Despite trying on three separate occasions, leaving messages and speaking to the receptionist- they repeatedly told me a nurse would ring me back to make the appointment.

Nobody called me back, i have the call records to prove this. My cat was left suffering and in pain.

I have switched to another vet and she is thankfully receiving treatment now.

This organization does not care about animals. They are disorganised, rude, unprofessional and lax.

Needless to say I submitted a complaint and 11 days later have yet to receive a reply!!!!

AVOID

No care for pets only money

Me and my family have used our current vet for over 30 years and they were really good, friendly, skilled and I felt confident in they’re analysis and treatment of my various pets over the years but after being taken over by IVC Evidensia they have totally fallen to pieces, the quality of staff and treatment of my current dog has been disgusting,no interest or intent on fixing, curing the problem,it’s just about squeezing as much money out of you as possible and making sure that you have to come back soon for another visit to charge more money, prices seem to vary from one visit to the next with no explanation as to why. These greedy companies that are buying out all the vet practices are causing so much pain and suffering to animals just to make as much money as possible from them. So I’ll be leaving the practice I’ve been using for 30 years and it’s all because of IVC,swerve at all costs any practice that is owned by these morons

Avoid any veterinary practice owned by…

Avoid any veterinary practice owned by this company. They are totally driven by money and have no interest or compassion towards your pet. Our local practice handled the euthanasia of our cat so badly.

THEY WILL ALSO SIDE STEP ANY COMPLAINTS. TWO MONTHS IN AND STILL NO RESPONSE.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Sadly moving on from our previously independent practice that has been destroyed by IVC.

After over 10 years with our vet practice who have seen many of our pets both into and out of the world with us (as well as all things in between), they sold out to IVC who have managed to handle a very minor admin issue, that could have been easily resolved with basic communication, so badly that I won’t remain with the practice as a matter of principle alone. I really feel for the wonderful teams within these previously independent practices who are having the relationships they have built with pets and their owners for so many years destroyed by IVC and their robotic ‘corporate’ approach.

My best advice if your practice is bought over by IVC is to take your pets elsewhere. I didn’t look into them until I had this issue and the reviews speak volumes. I think I got off lightly finding out through a minor and inexpensive issue compared to what many have been put through!

Former employee bad experience

As a former employee I had nothing but trouble whilst being employed by them and following 4 months after I resigned!
Constant mistakes with maternity pay, holiday pay and wages to which I had to go through up to 4 different people to try and find a solution. Got completely disregarded constantly and very poor management. This went on for 2 years. Would not recommend as a great company to work for.

Extremely Dissappointed.

We have been with two vet practices owned by this organization - our local practice and Vets Now for out of hours emergency cover. We had been very happy, until the local practice made a mistake which resulted in the death of our dog.

We know that mistakes happen; our pup had an underlying condition. We didn't blame the vet, but we wanted them to acknowledge that they had got some things wrong - not least to prevent the same mistake beign repeated with other dogs.

Any normal, sane human being would have handled this case easily. We wanted an amicable resolution.

The problem isn't so much IVC Evidensia (as far as I can tell), but rather the fact that they use VDS - the Veterinary Defence Society - to handle complaints.

The VDS are an indemnity insurance company. When something goes wrong, even if it's the result of blatant and provable negligence, the VDS will step in to bully the recently bereaved owner into giving up their claim. Do your own research to learn of the heart-breaking horror stories of abuse.

IVC Evidensia CHOOSE to use the VDS to handle their complaints, therefore IVC Evidensia must accept responsibility for the wrecking ball that VDS are smashing through customer relations and trust in the veterinary profession.

When your complaint is passed to VDS you are told that you cannot communicate with your vet. You cannot find out what happened to your dog. You are denied access to the organizations complaints procedures.

In our case (which I have learned is par for the course) they tried to coerce us into giving permission for them to contact our other vets for information. They claim it's so they can do an investigation and consider our 'claim' (we didn't make a claim - we submitted a complaint). They refused to give us any information about our pet's care with the local vet until we gave this consent.

So that's the end of the road. The only recourse left is to fork out huge sums of money for legal representation in a court case, which will cost far far more than any financial compensation that may be awarded in the unlikely event that you win.

The governing body is the RCVS - but by all accounts they ALWAYS take the vets side in things.

Apparently there are all sorts of bodies investigating this scandal relating to petcare. Media are involved and investigative journalists are looking into peoples' stories.

I have to be fair and say that the VDS represent most vets in the UK. I'm told even the nicest vets have to throw their clients to the wolves; if they don't they won't be able to get indemnity insurance and I guess that would mean an end to their career.

So these tactics aren't unique to IVC Evidensia, but IVC Evidensia are big enough to do something about it. They must know the suffering that VDS cause to pet owners - typically at a time when those owners are deeply grieving and suffering greatly. They simply don't care.

Scandal of IVC Evidensia

IVC Evidensia has purchased our local vets. Consequently the charges for medication have rocketed and the Private Equity backers of this company have got richer and richer. Consequently people are avoiding Vets unless absolutely necessary. A scandal. Tough regulation is needed to curb these money grabbing private equity firms that are buying up independent Vets.

Great vets from a competency point of view (who shall remain nameless), but horrendous charges.
Out of hours is a scam (I think the out of hours company is also owned by IVC)
I feel for those owners (and any pets) who cannot afford the charges.
Glad the CMA is investigating. Hope they don't fudge it.
