AIR CON - SWEAT PIT
I've been a member of the Hull Gym for many years. I am so disappointed this summer. I am finding myself not training on my training days because of the lack of air con. this year been the worst year as its never worked properly in the last 5 yrs. The toilets are a disgrace. What am i actually paying for if I cant train!!"!!!!!!

My friend bought me 2 guest passes from…
My friend bought me 2 guest passes from the vending machine so me and my partner could try the gym before buying a membership. When we came to use them we were greeted with accusations and questions suggesting we stole the passes or made them ourselves. We were asked where we got them, who laminated them, why they had numbers on them etc. I explained the situation multiple times and advised a member of staff was with my friend when she bought them however, the staff member told us he really shouldn’t be letting us in and made us feel as though we shouldn’t be allowed in the gym. From the period of buying the passes to using them, it appears the passes have now gone online however, that the man who questioned us had no recollection of the passes every coming from the vending machine.

Customer service, gym cleanliness and function.
I started going to this specific gym a few days ago. First off the customer service is top notch. I got some amazing advice from the PTs about calories and how to calculate how much you need to grow muscle and how much water you need etc. The gym itself is clean and okay. Maybe a couple machines need maintinance, overall great gym!

busy, messy & hot!
The gym is like a walk in a sauna, air con is awful, weights everywhere, no members of staff in sight, the one entry per day is silly if you forget something in my car or want to do a double session which is normal splitting cardio and weights up you can’t get back in when the gyms unmanned! Wouldn’t recommend.

We’re sorry to hear your comments regarding weights being left around the gym. Members are asked to return equipment after use so the gym remains safe, tidy, and accessible for everyone. If you notice this happening during your visit, please do speak to a member of the team so they can assist.
Regarding access, the app does grant entry once per day, but members are welcome to return for a second visit or re-enter if needed. If you ever need assistance getting back in, please press the green buzzer near the entrance and a member of the team can help.

To many gangs of lads using the machines and talking between sets. Should be only allowed in 2’s so everyone can train as that’s what we are there for. Need to be monitored and dealt with before the reputation gets worse. Equipment is great and space is good.

The shower is not clean it has bad oudor
I’ve just started coming to this new studio and I really like the setup, but the showers have some serious issues that need fixing:
• Unpleasant smell: There’s a strong, lingering odour in the shower area that doesn’t go away even after use. Installing an extractor vent would help pull the stale air and smells out.
• No temperature control: The water only runs extremely hot — there’s no way to adjust it to be cooler. It’s so hot that it feels like it could easily burn skin, which is a safety concern.
It would make a huge difference if these issues could be resolved quickly. Once fixed, this will be a much better experience for everyone.

Great gym all equipment in good working order and plenty of it good sauna and showers but toilets are a bit dated all in all I love using JD Gyms and will continue .
