Absolutely disgusting people

Absolutely disgusting people. Some immoral loophole that makes it legal to mislead and charge the vulnerable extortionate admin fees for something that has no admin fees. There are a few websites these people work from and then when you realise your mistake they link you to a very clear site that IS NOT the one used initially!

They do give a full refund for anyone upset or worried about the £20/£30/£40 “maximum offer” you will be fobbed off with...just keep going and going mentioning 14 day cooling off periods, the bank, legal teams, section 75, chargeback schemes!

It took me literally 66 emails to get my money back but they do cave eventually and it’s hilarious.

They count on people not fighting and giving in at £20/£40 as it’s how they cash in.

Just be careful out there! It’s easy to fall for when you’re busy or not very IT literate.

Disgusted, I thought it’s a DVLA as well, just paid £113 for provisional licence instead of £34. Reported to the bank as a fraud who will take a full investigation, requested a full refund. Scammers ....

My daughter in law thought this was how to get a provisional license for ID only and was charged £113 tried to cancel and they claim license on its way despite no photo being provided and offered £20 then £30 good will refund ... we are claiming back from bank and reporting to trading standards. Google should be ashamed for pushing these dodgy money grabbing rip off merchants.

Same old story for me on 70+ renewal

You can get into circular email correspondence at drivinglicenceassist
As far as Data protection goes Electronic Check Ltd are registered with COI. Electronic Check Ltd has a sole director a Frenchman born Jan 1995. The company has been around about a year. They started writing to me as Licence Safe but then switched to Driving Licence Assistance. I presume Google get money from these people. Amusing to note that the 5* reviews frod Licence Safe come from US or AUS.

watch out? This company seems in my opinion to be…

This company seems in my opinion to be carefully set up, using google search techniques and a fairly professional looking website, to catch those having a bad day and get them to pay £93 for renewing a driving licence when in reality it costs £14 and a few minutes work. This involves giving all kinds of personal data. I advise that you renew through the DVLA site. Their web address ends with .gov.uk not .co.uk

Please beware

Please beware. I stupidly clicked on this site, it was the first at the top of the page on a google search for license renewal. I gave them my passport details thinking it was the government website. They charged me £93 to renew my license.
I am in a dispute them with them right now.
I have also contacted Watchdog.

Licence Scam

I needed to apply for a new driving licence which is free of charge for 70 year olds. so I went online and entered DVLA and the site that came up (first) was some that looked like the official DVLA site
It most certainly was not!!!
I had been duped into believing it was the correct site and duly completed the online form and strangely they requested payment details from a credit/debit !
it soon became apparent that I had not been on the official DVLA site and a charge of £79. had been taken from the card .
There was no indication that a charge was going to be made ie no amount specified etc.
I then realised I had been most definitely been tricked into believing that I was on the DVLA site only to discover I had inadvertently used License Safe .
After several attempts to recover the money during which time I was offered varying amounts of refund from £20 up to the full refund amount of £79.
This was only secured by invoking the statutory fourteen day refund rule and also threatening Licence Safe with Legal action,Watch Dog and the Police
BEWARE DO NOT FALL FOR USING THIS SITE like so many others have.

Deceptive from the Start

The information they provide from Google search and on their website is misleading and deceptive. I thought I was on DVLA website and only realised my mistake when I saw £93 taken from my VISA account. Their presentation is deceptive throughout and provide a service that no one wants. All I wanted to do was renew my driving licence for £14 and have lost, had stolen £93.

I was also scammed

I was also scammed. I cancelled my bank card. My bank fraud team got me the money back. You must also report them to ActionFraud. They investigate all fraudulent websites and any fraudulent activity. To get them taken down. This is what I did.

Shocking

If I could give this company less than a star I would.. It's a shame you can't rate in tµrd emojis!

Scammed out of £93 for a £14 licence!

This company are not registered on Companies House and are NO way affiliated with the DVLA, still use their official forms though!! Fraud?!

Just a load of spongers that provide an extortionate, non existent service. Initially refused any kind of refund despite them admitting they were unable to provide their 'service' anyway.

They were reminded continuously of Consumer Rights.

Preying on vulnerable people, particularly in this current climate is the lowest of the low, and I hope all their employees sh!t a cactus, multiple times daily, for the remainder of their lives.

This scam service is a front for identity fraud.

A friend has just fallen for this scam and forwarded me her email correspondence. 20-22 Wenlock Road is a Registered Office service which you can use for as little as £50 to host a scam company. Not only will you lose the fee you paid, but more importantly, they get your key identity information such as address history, bank details, National Insurance number and your licence photo. All this can be sold on to aid others in identity fraud, which is used to obtain money loans and goods in your name, or even open fraudulent banks accounts. This can then impact your own credit score and you can even have bailiffs come after you for debts they incur in your name. Frightening stuff.

You can beat them if try hard

Hi, I put on this site about 2 weeks ago, that I was not happy about being scamed out of £74.
Well I can let you know that I did not let it drop and got my money back in full, less the £14 DVLA fee, but I did get the replacement licence so it only cost me the same as the DVLA site and a lot of emails. I did inform them that I been on ti's site, that I had informed the credit card company of a potential fraud, that I would go to citizens advice and the police fraud team as they were not hounering the 10 days colling off piriod you have on online purchases. The 1st said basically hard luck, then offered me £30, then £35, I of course rejected these and gave the 34 hour or I would report them to the above and only settle for a full refund and I would nt discuss it any more. I got a email from a different member of their team in around a hour confirming a full refund. It was hard work for a silly mistake but got there. Best of luck and don't let them win. One last thing I cancelled my credit card and got a new one just incase and also got written confirmation from them that all my details would be deleted after 72 days and would not be passed on. Best of luck

Scammers

Like everyone else reviewing this is a sham of a company.
I emailed to cancel as soon as I realised the scam and after 25 emails they have offered £40.

Contacted Action Fraud. Citizens Advice and my card provider requesting a chargeback.
No cancellation policy sent to myself which is a condition of sale.

Disgusting scammers!!

Disgusting scammers!!
Like everyone else I thought I was on the DVLA website.
I can usually spot the scamming ones but these are good! Says £34 in basket then after you check out and receive the confirmation email from licence safe it dawns on you, “who’s licence safe?” Too late, then you receive the second email telling you you paid £113!!!
Does anyone know ANYONE who insures their driving licence?????? No!!
I am currently being offered £50 but am holding out as these scammers should get nothing for filling out a form for me, plus now all my details are with a company which scams people!!
Double check every website you use guys!!
