A few days ago I noticed I couldn't make payments from our business account. It's month end so our team and suppliers needed paying. It happened to be the day their app was having issues as per the national news so the advisor initially said it as that. Then she tried to tell me we'd have to use our browser. Then she came back and said Lloyds were closing our account so everything had been frozen. Can you imagine hearing this? As a small business where cash flow is everything? And we trusted Lloyds with our savings too! She refused to put us on to someone more senior. Eventually we spoke to someone more helpful and he confirmed our account was being closed. They said they had sent a letter requesting information relating to Companies House information (all of which is up to date). They did not send a letter let alone an email OR a message on our account. Nothing. We cannot contest it as it means we can't access our money and we are having to quickly open another bank account (hopefully with a far more values driven bank that this ruthless one) so we our business doesn't crash. Please: if you have a small business DO NOT open an account with such a volatile, untrustworthy and poorly run bank that has little care for small business owners. We are taking this case further as even if small, we will fight back how they have treated us. I have a personal account with Lloyds that I have had for 20 years that I will now be closing. And my receommendation to all who come here is: do not bank with this unethical bank.
