Easy check in and great value. Good car. Checout / return in Milan was a bit difficult to find based on the online instructions.

While renting the car, a warning message came up advising that oil needed to be added. I sent an email to Locauto with a photo of the problem and they told me to add oil and give them a receipt to be reimbursed when I returned the car. I had to go out of my way to find the special oil required by the Audi vehicle and made sure to get the receipt for €25.00. I had purchased the roadside plus coverage, but apparently that only covers towing, not issues with the vehicle: this was not explained to me when I picked the vehicle up. When I returned the vehicle at a separate location in Milan, they refused to offer any reimbursement, because the receipt didn't show an itemized breakdown of the expenses with the oil, for which I would have had to request a special receipt. When I later emailed the location where I picked the car up in Rome, they said that since the account was closed, it would be too late to reimburse anything, and to contact customer service. Later, when I pulled up all the information and contacted customer service, explaining that I had emailed a photo of the problem, which had clearly gone away, they said there was nothing they could do, and I could email them back an itemized receipt, which would be impossible for me to obtain. I feel like I went out of my way to take care of their vehicle and then they threw the book at me rather than pay for the oil I added. This is clearly a problem with rigid company policy, as all the staff I worked seemed honest and friendly.

Full coverage overcharged. I hope that the location and guidance of the vehicle pickup will be more friendly to unfamiliar travelers. It was so hard to pick up the car. The office and parking lot were too far apart. It would have been nice if they escorted us directly to the parking lot.

Fast and easy pickup and return.

We rented a car from Locauto for 5 days in May, and we had an excellent experience with them from beginning to end. I chose them for two reasons: 1. they were near the highway leading out of Rome, and I wanted to drive in Rome itself as little as possible! 2. Frankly, the reviews for all the other rental places near the Termini station were awful, and I wanted someplace I could trust. They got us a very good car, they weren't busy when I went there, their English was good, and the return was very easy. I will say that they are a little out of the way, so be aware of that, and the garage is a short ways down the street from the office (which is easy to miss--watch carefully for the signage), but in the end, that worked in our favor, as it wasn't crazy busy in either the office or the street. We had a very good experience with them and I would definitely rent from them again.

It was a great experience. Easy. Professional. Picked up car, did trip and was out. The only difficulty were all the negative reviews on line that made me think every car rental agency was crooked in Italy.

The staff at Locauto were outstanding, they made both check out and check in very easy. The van we rented was perfect for our 4 week road trip throughout Italy.

On the paper given no phone number to ask questions about the drop off of the car in Venice.
It was in Mestre with very poor indication of the parking: we have to go on website to find the phone number of locauto as on the paper the phone number are only for assistance. Very poor experience!!!!!
