Home insurance is one of those necessary evils we begrudgingly pay each year, after the grind of searching for a cheaper price.
After stumbling on a YouTube video about them, I looked at the Locket website.
Very quickly and easily, I had a quote, which was very reasonable, happy days.
Then, I read on and found that by telling them that I have certain bits of tech, as long as they have evaluated them, that we get a discount.
Having just moved to a new home, it was a blank canvas, so as i bought new kit, I just checked with them and got a bit of money off.
They have their own shop too, often with kit at reduced prices.
So, it's a weird, but brilliant business idea, but makes sense when you think about it.
Rather than charging more for hones that are more likely to make a claim, help people to reduce the risk, and reward them for doing so. Genius.
So far we've had a full, smart, fire, smoke and CO Alarm system, a burglar alarm system, security cameras, water leak detection (which they supplied and installed FREE), all of which earned us a discount.
On top of that, they have a very active chat service where customers can interact and share ideas.
Then there's the customer service. I've had many, friendly emails back and forth, discussing kit I'm considering, and some of it they've then approved. They seem to actually enjoy their job, and put the customer first.
The only thing I haven't had chance to try out, is their claims department, but as between us, we've reduced the risks of flood, fire (they also sent us a free fire extinguisher set) and burglary, I'm happy to leave them alone.
Oh, I recommended them to a friend, who took out a policy, so I was sent a security camera as a thank you.
They really are a pleasure to deal with, and I hope other businesses follow their example.

So far so good, I’ve just joined on recommendation. But the process it so simple, I love that smart tech is considered helpful when talking about home security. And the personalised welcome video was a nice touch too.

A lot of reviews here will talk about the app, website, or sign up process being straightforward and easy. It is. But I would like to suggest that, really, the most important aspect of any insurance company is how they handle claims. That is the most important feature you need from an insurance company when the worst happens.
In this case, as soon as you need to make a claim they pass you to a different company called the Davies-Group, and they are appalling. (I encourage you to search for them here.)
At the end of the day if you need to make a claim and get something fixed you won't be dealing with Locket. They have designed, decided, and operate their business to use a partner who are atrocious, and so I cannot rate Locket positively at all.

Absolutely appalling behaviour. I have been with Locket insurance for 3 months. I have now received an email to say they will be cancelling my policy as they changed underwriters and now do not cover my personal circumstances.
They claim it is their right to cancel my policy as it states this on their terms and conditions.
I will be making a complaint to both the FOS and locket themselves.
Luckily I can cancel it myself now otherwise I would be penalised by new companies if I let locket cancel it.
You have been warned.

Great website, easiest navigation experience, already recommended my website team learns from this. And because you work this way my premium was more competitive. I will now consider some Smart security elements to my home, once I am satisfied the devices themselves DO NOT present their own security issues I will deploy and save further.

Easy to complete quote system, paid leaving fees for current policy, personalised welcome message, and discounts for smart tech I have. I am usually very 'meh' about insurance companies - I give them money, they give me risk mitigation. Locket has been a genuinely positive experience though and actually feels like I'm a valued customer.

Easy straight forward to use web site to get quote and cover. Great customer service with email welcome message and all documentation including the policy stuff all personalised to the policyholder. Only thing I would have preferred is payment monthly by direct debit rather than monthly by recurring debit card payment

I have heard about locket through a couple of smart home YouTube channels.
My renewal is due recently and thought I woulda give it a go.
The quote process was quick and easy - no long forms. The price was very competitive with the smart gadget discount on top it beat my current renewal.
Once I had signed up I received a personalised video welcoming me to locket which I was not expecting.
So far I would highly recommend locket.
