0 stars once again! They are actually trying to steal my card details to force me to auto renew! I have deactivated my auto renewal and yet it doesn’t allow me remove my card saying renewal is already mapped! I have sent a mail and they were asking multiple questions which I have answered and still no feedback! These questions are irrelevant by the way since it is sent from the registered email address . They don’t pay attention too! Remove my card!!!!! The cso is asking for charge

I am writing this to warn others about Lycamobile Portugal’s incompetent and dangerous customer service. After losing my phone, I contacted them to block my SIM and perform a SIM swap to recover my number, which is linked to all my bank accounts and government IDs.
Despite providing my official NIF (Tax Number), my PUK code, and the ICCID serial number, they refused to help me. Their reason? Their outdated security script requires a list of "recently dialed numbers." As a modern user, I use mobile data for all my calls (WhatsApp/Social Media). Because I don't make traditional voice calls, they have "flagged" my account and reached a dead end.
Even worse, they refused to confirm if my lost SIM was even blocked, leaving my bank accounts vulnerable to fraud. They have now forced me to resolve this via email, which they are ignoring. They are effectively holding my phone number hostage because their system doesn't understand how people use smartphones in 2026.
Avoid this network if you value your security or your time. I am now filing a formal complaint with ANACOM and the Livro de Reclamações.

Sales that vanish, customer service that’s non-existent, a rubbish app, top-ups that aren’t credited but are still charged for – never again with this lot. They lure you in with low prices, then when you actually get to know them

A disappointing service from start to finish. A plan that promises stability but delivers constant frustration. The internet fails at the worst possible moments, as if it’s testing the customer’s patience every single day.
The biggest issue, however, is the renewal process: disorganized, confusing, and at times outright abusive. I have experienced duplicate charges more than once, with no transparency or timely resolution. It is unacceptable to pay twice for a service that doesn’t even meet basic expectations.
The experience is defined by stress, wasted time, and a constant feeling of being disrespected. I would not recommend this to anyone who values their money and peace of mind.

Do not use this provider under any service, they keep charging you under their auto renewal disguise and save your card details for 365 days as per their company policy. This provider uses this dark pattern to keep charging your card. Stay away at any cost

It is inexpensive compared to the competition. It runs on Vodafone network so the coverage is good.
It's easy to join first off either by purchasing a card from one of the numerous small store resellers or online.
I can now hotspot it, which I couldn't do just a few months ago.

Sometimes the data connection doesn't always run smoothly despite good signal strength.
It seems to consume more data than the equivalent identical usage using other operators.
My most recent automated payment showed as failed despite the fact the linked card was active and funded. 20 minutes wait to speak to customer service. Agent stated they could only make one attempt at taking payment so I should cease the tariff I am (was?) on my choose another. I did this and it now costs 2 euro more. So I suspect they were forcing me to change tariff
Tariff changes cannot be done in the app, which is of limited use.
