We had a previous solicitor during our conveyancing who did not engage us as they should up till the week of supposed completion then went on to say they would not be able to represent us going forward. We called the builder and were provided with Donna Moore’s contact at Malcolm C Foy & Co. The person who spoke to me on Donna’s team was very friendly and I believe this was Kelly. Immediately we had that first call, they went into action immediately. I must say that Donna and her team were very thorough but highly experienced at their job. They made the process very seamless for us from sending us documents to review and sign off to getting us a completion date within one month of engaging them. Our purchase would have gone horribly wrong if not for the timely intervention of Donna and her team and we are very grateful for their professional job done. We have experienced both buying and selling property with the aid and guidance of Donna Moore at Malcolm C Foy. Donna and her assistant Kelly were professional, experienced and perfect in every way. For people of mature years and inexperienced in these actions, Donna's calm assertion was just the driver required to take us through these stormy waters swiftly.
If you want guidance and professionalism from someone who doesn't take prisoners.
Donna Moore is the one. 5 stars for sure.

I can highly recommend Jess Mason from Malcolm C Foy & Co. I instructed her to carry out the conveyancing of a property I recently sold. The service was great throughout. Communication was excellent and efficient making me feel comfortable that I understood everything that was required from me. Once again thank you for making what could have been a stressful process absolutely seamless.

My experience dealing with Nick Pashley at Malcolm C Foy & Co was extremely disappointing. He responded to my formal complaint even though he is not the designated complaints officer, which made the entire process feel improper and unprofessional from the start.

His response was dismissive, defensive, and lacked impartiality. Rather than addressing the issues I raised, he appeared more interested in justifying the firm’s position. There was no genuine attempt to resolve the matter fairly or to acknowledge the firm’s failings.
Based on my experience, I would not trust him to deal with client matters fairly or transparently.

My experience with this firm was extremely disappointing. I instructed them for a buy-to-let purchase that didn’t proceed, handled by Jessica Mason. Communication was poor throughout — emails and calls went unanswered, including when I queried an unexpectedly high abortive fee. Not even once I was able to speak with Jessica Mason via the phone; I was given the excuse that there is the ‘Completions day’ and they are busy dealing with other cases.

Their terms state fees are “from £250,” yet I was invoiced £450 + VAT plus search costs, even though the purchase never progressed to contract; I haven’t even received the searches results. When I raised a formal complaint, it was ignored, until I reminded them about their Complaints Handling Policy. They initially refused to adjust the amount or provide a clear explanation.
Only after I told them that I will escalate the matter did with Legal Ombudsman and SRA they replied and adjusted the bill.
This lack of transparency and disregard for client communication is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm.

Although its 3star i still got my work done as i didnt know any other firms but some key points to highlight about Malcolm C foy & co would be:

If you were allocated this firm as a new house build customer then do not expect any courtesy call to introduce themselves about who is actually undertaking your job matter in their hands. You will be left with a lot of email communication which sadly is the case thats happening a lot nowadays everywhere.(could be because of legal verbal and non verbal points). Said that the firm does have a very good email communication explaining next steps which sometimes could be very short notice.

When you will ring the firm there are people who actually do not and i mean do not sound polite,friendly and willing to help which would be demonstrated by lot of awkward pauses.
I never got to hear my lawyer,advocate or person responsible for my job instead lot of it were dealt by her juniors, precisely two juniors.

You will be expected to do your own research on legal terms used and when final bill statement will be given expect unclarity on bill for which you would again ring the unfriendly number and after awkward pauses it still will be unclear but you would just think “know what i need my thing getting done”,so i might just adjust.
Please also note that there would be at no moment of time during your work getting done that you would receive call from firm so better be always on ur email.

In all there are some other things as well that made me think this is not for me if there was another time to go to,but it could be just individual experience.
Again i have got my work done through them but even after everything i dont as a customer who has paid fees feel satisfied or content with the service somehow.

Someone else might have different experience and thats individual based.
So good luck for those who would approach malcolm C foy i hope it would be a better experience.

Excellent service, very professional, Fee's very reasonable. Any queries I had where answered quickly & anything I didn't understand was explained.
