Nice design and look
Very poor reliability thermometers continual dropping off during cook despite having fresh batteries and the firmware updated. Any cooks over an hour long and the device fails. I have multiple meaters and they all fail. Save your money by a more cost-effective one that’s wireless and just replace it if it fails. You can probably buy four for the price of one meater

My Meater 2 plus worked fine for the first two or three uses, then came the connection issues, went through countless AAA batteries, cleaned it well with a soft cloth. It became sporadic as to when it would decide to connect properly or not. Now it just doesn’t connect at all anymore. Tried sending it to customer service when it was within the two year warranty period and they simply said it was working fine and posted it back. Tried it out straight away and of course it still wasn’t connecting. Tried different phones, deleting the app, forgetting the device. Replacing the battery half an hour before expected use, nothing works. How ridiculous to pay a premium price for a product so sub-par it’s not even funny. Their product and customer service are equally as bad. The probe is in the bin and I’ll be telling everyone I can to avoid this product like the plague. Why can I not give zero stars?!

I purchased a MEATER 2 Plus Bundle in December 2023 for £238 — the premium Pro-tier model specifically for its 550°C BBQ rating. After 2.5 years of normal use, the probe stopped connecting to the charger entirely. The extender works fine; the probe itself has a hardware fault.
I exhausted every troubleshooting step recommended by MEATER before contacting JDM Products, the UK distributor. While the team responded quickly and professionally, they declined a warranty replacement as I was just outside the 2-year window. When I raised the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 — which provides statutory protection for up to 6 years where goods fail to meet reasonable durability standards — my argument was not engaged with substantively across multiple emails.
JDM ultimately offered a 20% goodwill discount towards a replacement, which I accepted.
The product itself is excellent. However, a premium probe failing its core function at 2.5 years, and a refusal to properly address a legitimate CRA claim, is worth noting for other UK buyers.

The product is good albeit a little over priced for what it is. Once you are out of warranty you might as well bin it. The company has zero interest in providing spares stating we do not sell the spares. We do not sell individual probes etc. They did offer a 20% discount on new one as a goodwill gesture but i chose to use this platform to warn everyone instead. This is planned obsolescence! 2 yrs buy a new one. I won’t be buying any more. Please Meater don’t reply we already exchange 5 emails today and i said i would rather leave an honest review.
So you did respond even though we exchanged emails all day yesterday from jdmproducts Who your support referred me to yesterday didn’t say anything of the sort if fact their response was “ As previously advised, we do not stock or sell individual replacement probes, and therefore we're unable to supply them.” Having asked several times this was the answer. If you can supply replacements
Miraculously after negative reviews tell me how, doubt i will hear from you again now you done you damage limitation reply

I was given the Meater Pro just over two years ago for a present. I loved this item to begin with. However, unfortunately it is no longer working and the company have confirmed that it has a faulty batter pack. They did offer a discount if I wanted to buy a new one, but based on my experience and the price of the product I wont be doing that. Very disappointing, for something that is marketed as a premium product it certainly doesn't feel very premium, nor did the customer support. As well as this the connectivity was very poor, often taking 20-30 minutes to recognise the temperature when inserted into the meat, by which point the cook could have been ruined.

I’ve been a loyal customer of MEATER since 2021. Initially, I bought their meter probes, and later, I upgraded to the meter block, which included four probes. The product seemed well-constructed and lasted over four years in 2024.
However, I recently purchased the meter pro and the meter pro duo, and I’m disappointed to say that their durability is lacking. After working with Moises and customer service for over an hour, providing all the necessary information, they simply informed me that I would have to pay for replacements. I wish they had started by acknowledging that and saving us an hour of back-and-forth.
I understand that troubleshooting is necessary, but the process was incredibly frustrating. I use my probes sporadically because I don’t barbecue every day, and considering the price of these units, I expected them to last more than two years. In fact, I use them 8 to 10 times in that timeframe.
In my opinion, the quality of meter probes used to be top-notch, but I feel like it has declined, and it’s simply not worth purchasing again. I’m considering trying a different manufacturer because I believe there are companies that offer comparable or even better probes at a lower price.
On a positive note, when the probes do work, they were great! I’m disappointed that MEATER doesn’t do a better job of standing behind their products.
**Update**
MEATER responds and suggests another troubleshooting method. However, if this doesn’t resolve the issue, what’s the solution? I can assure you that I won’t be purchasing another set of MEATER devices. MEATER will never regain my trust and business.

Expensive garbage works when it wants and now not at all. Adds more stress than enjoyment when cooking. Real shame as when its good its fantastic. I would avoid

I really enjoyed my product but the glue gave out all the device and it separated. I reached out for a replacement expecting it to be a simple thing because I don't need it for 15 months but they told me it was out of warranty and could not replace it. Crazy to think that expensive of a thermometer could break in under 2 years and they won't give you a replacement. Back to an old school thermometer for me

Meter.com made an error and shipped too many items to me. I did the right thing by returning the extra item and requesting a refund. Since then, I have been promised twice that my money would be refunded, but to this day, I have received absolutely nothing.
Shipping errors can happen, but misleading a customer twice with empty promises about a refund is completely unacceptable service. I am still waiting for my money and would advise others to think twice before ordering from this company."
As requested, here is my case number: 58629344. Please review the correspondence and process the refund immediately.
After 12 phone calls and updating this review, MEATER finally processed the refund. It took way too much effort, but the financial part is now finally resolved."

Product seemed great and start then failed. Once advised Meater I was advised they won't help even though product failed in the warranty period.

I purchased two MEATER wireless thermometers, including the MEATER Plus, expecting the more expensive model to perform even better than the standard version. Unfortunately, both units were a major disappointment.
When they worked, they were fantastic. The problem is they only worked for a short time. After a week or two, both units began having connection issues and eventually would not connect reliably at all. I spent more time trying to get them paired than actually cooking.
For the amount of money these thermometers cost, I expected much better reliability. A premium product should work consistently, not become a frustrating troubleshooting project after a few uses.
After my experience, I’ve gone back to using my Weber thermometer and other brands that simply work. I know I’m not the only customer who has experienced these connection problems.
MEATER has a great idea and a great product concept, but reliability needs serious attention. Until the connectivity issues are fixed, I cannot recommend spending your hard-earned money on these thermometers.
Very disappointing.

My last pro just stopped working and it took days of convo with the company to get to a point where they replaced it. Very slow to do the right thing. Now the replacement isn’t working. Loses connection and even after new batteries it saying batteries are low. Fed up recharging it . There’s definitely a problem with the products battery and connectivity and reading reviews here it’s clear that it’s widespread. The shame is that it’s a great product when it works but there are some serious design problems in my opinion. I’m looking to get a better engineered alternative.

Second very bad experience!
Cooked chicken breast and it gave me time 4.5 h!!! Then went to 50…40 min.
After about 25 min I took the meet out of the oven and even though the meet was out for 5 minutes the temperature was still RISING!!
The meet was dead- as dry as can be!

Worked well for approx 14 Months, now wont hold charge for more than about 20 mins which makes using it with joints of beef etc useless. Changed batteries countless times, have tried removing it from its charger and charging it an hour before I need it, still issues with battery life. Out of warranty now. I wanted to buy 3 more but not willing to risk it.

5-Star Review: Outstanding Product, Even Better Customer Support
The MEATER Pro Duo has become my first and immediate go-to kitchen device for cooking anything that requires accurate temperature readings. I absolutely love this product, without question. Whether I am cooking meat, smoking on the grill, preparing a roast, or trying to hit the perfect internal temperature, this device gives me confidence every time. I recommend it to all my friends who love to cook, and especially to people I know who work in restaurants or take food seriously.
But that is not the main reason I am writing this review.
Today, I am writing because of the excellent customer support I received from MEATER.
I purchased my MEATER Pro Duo from Amazon about a year ago. For most of that time, I mainly used one probe, so I did not immediately realize how important the second charging port would become. As I became more reliant on the probes and started using both of them more often, I discovered that one of the charging ports on the docking station had never worked properly.
I first contacted Amazon to see if they could help or at least connect me with MEATER support. Unfortunately, Amazon was no help at all. So I went directly to MEATER through their website and used their chat support portal.
At first, I was speaking with an AI support agent, but once the system understood my issue, I was quickly transferred to a real human support technician. I wish I remembered his name, because he deserves credit. He was knowledgeable, patient, professional, and genuinely helpful.
I explained when and where I purchased the unit, and I described the problem with one charging port not charging the probes. He walked me through a few resets and reboot steps to see if the issue could be fixed. After a few minutes, it became clear that the docking station had a hardware problem that could not be repaired through troubleshooting.
Then came the part that impressed me the most.
He did not say, “Sorry, we cannot help you.”
He did not tell me I would have to pay to send the unit back.
He did not try to make the process difficult.
He did not make me feel like I was bothering them.
Instead, he simply said they would send me a replacement unit free of charge.
No hassle. No runaround. No nonsense. Just a sincere effort to take care of a customer.
That tells me everything I need to know about MEATER as a company. They do not just make a great product, they stand behind it. Their employees understand customer service, and they make you feel appreciated as a customer.
The MEATER Pro Duo is already one of my favorite kitchen tools, but this support experience made me respect the company even more. In a time when customer service often feels like an afterthought, MEATER proved that they still care about doing things the right way.
I highly recommend the MEATER Pro Duo to anyone who loves to cook, grill, smoke, roast, or prepare food with precision.
Buy a MEATER today. You will love the product, and you can feel confident knowing the company stands behind it.

Connection issues, particularly on long cooks.... awful. Estimated times... never go by. To be frank... my regular thermometer is far more reliable. The app will say the cook is done. It's not. My wife needs food cooked. I can eat rare. Love rare. Wife doesnt.. she will do medium. Prefers microwave wellness. The probes will say medium well. I reality its mid rare. Estimated time will say 30 mins... in reality it's 2 more hours low and slow. Its a temu product with temu quality. Sucks because it's a great app and concept... just doesn't work as advertised. I have the pro 4 probe block. The best of their best. It simply doesn't work as advertised. Will see how their warranty works soon because mine never works.

Terrible support. Terrible connectivity of the meater pro duo. I tried to get support three times. All three times were difficult, lengthy, and pointless, and the agents closed the chat window as soon as they got the chance. The last one asked me for information (that the others had already asked for). By the time I'd gone to get my Meater from the kitchen and returned to my computer (barely two minutes), the agent had closed the conversation. It's completely ridiculous to treat customers like this when you sell such an expensive product. Stay away from Meater probes; that's my best advice.

I’ve had the original MEATER Block for a few years now, and I genuinely wouldn’t be without it. It gets used regularly in a kamado for low-and-slow cooks as well as in the oven. It’s brilliant: convenient, simple, and reliable. My FireBoard has been consigned to the back of the cupboard.
Because of that experience, I didn’t hesitate to buy the MEATER Pro so I could use Meater for more applications. What a disappointment. Had this been my first Meater product, it would also have been my last.
The issues described in other reviews are exactly the ones I’m experiencing too: terrible connectivity and charging performance. The connectivity, charging time and battery drain make the device effectively unusable.
The Pro is so poor that I rarely use it now. It’s simply too unreliable.
I should have trusted my instincts and returned it, but instead I kept retrying all the advice Meater has posted in reviews and on their website. The bottom line is that none of it fixes the problem. The product appears to be fundamentally flawed.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the original again, but the Pro has been a complete letdown.

I have had my Meater for 4 years and used it about 20 times. The App is intuitive and easy to use so seemed like a good product .
BUT after being used only 20 times the product has literally fallen apart with the middle become separated from the outer she’ll. As a result it has stopped working.
Because the product is out of warranty the Support team offered me a 20% discount on a new Meater.
But here’s the question: on a product that cost me ~£100 it means it cost me roughly £5 per use. Honestly I bought it as an investment pieces. I can’t justify the cost at that rate.
If it’s supposed to be a disposable product then better to buy one of the cheaper alternatives.

I'm very concerned that the response to my review below (I can't add a link here) is a total lie. They are still not responding, they are not doing anything, so do not take any responses from the business on this site at face value.
I remain shocked that they can just stop responding rather than addressing the issue - I can't state enough how impossible it is to deal with these people, which makes the whole proposition redundant. The many complaints on here suggest that excellent customer service IS needed, rather than ignore very valid customer concerns.
