Fabulous Product; Misleading Shipping Process
The product I purchased — a pair of AW21 Amina Muaddi wedges — arrived in perfect condition despite the outer packaging being bent and crushed. There was no internal stuffing to keep the shoebox from sliding around in the oversized box. This designer is incredibly popular and the styles and sizes are extremely quick to sell out with only a limited quantity available to begin with. I was so excited to find these and to receive them in just under a week from my original order date. Considering superb product selection and availability, and rapid shipping, Michele Franzese Moda was on track to becoming one of my go-to sources for fabulous, hard to find designer merchandise. That changed today when, upon delivery, I had to write a check for customs fees to UPS. Never — NEVER — have I experienced this “payment on demand or delivery is deemed refused” despite having purchased expensive designer items from several international retailers. I was unprepared because it was my understanding, based on how this retailer presents the itemized costs during checkout, that such fees are included in the original transaction. It has left me feeling both tricked by and distrustful toward Michele Franzese Moda. It’s such a disappointing conclusion to an otherwise positive experience. I was so taken aback by this unforeseen cost/demand, not to mention that I have not written a check for more than a decade and had to ask my mother to write one on my behalf, that I almost refused receipt. However, I was warned by UPS personnel that refusal might result in my incurring even more fees and perhaps, ending up without a refund or the product. Thus, I [or rather my mother] wrote the check. It is my sincere hope that the retailer will explicitly inform clients of the fact that the customer must write a check (no other forms of payment are accepted by UPS) for customs fees upon delivery. I am truly stunned, confused, and disheartened by this experience.

For courier shipping, please DO NOT use UPS though, use DHL instead, former never delivered on time from my past experience,
