However, some customers also noted significant dissatisfaction with staff interactions, describing them as rude, dismissive, or unhelpful. AVOID MIDAS!!!!

I had a terrible experience at the Midas Danforth location. They literally broke every promise they made, argued every point, and then called me an a$$hole at the end of it all!

I tried to take it up with Midas and they told me its a franchise and they wouldn't do anything. They didn't even apologize for the experience, they were actually quite curt and rude.

Real true Mechanics & Customer Services

My experience with this location in Lexington SC off of Lake drive is the most professional Midas in my opinion. With more than 3 other locations between my home and this location. I live at 321 Belle Grove Circle Columbia S.C, and I have visited the other shops too, and this one off of lake drive is far most the best one I ever visited. With knowledgeable staff like Steve, Ron, Matt & Matt just to mention a few. I'm not an mechanic, I'm in Law Enforcement, but the techs & customer service at this location explains every little to big thing so easily understandable, they break in down for the customer. I find that to be magnificent. It's worth the drive from Columbia to Lexington for me. That staff makes me feel "FAMILY"!

***WILL NEVER USE MIDAS AGAIN***

***WILL NEVER USE MIDAS AGAIN***
MIDAS repaired my son's car and overcharged $979.00 for common parts (spark plugs, ignition coil, radiator hose connector, mass airflow sensor) as compared to a local O'Riley Auto Parts store. Talked with MIDAS reps, and they referred me to their website, which conveniently does NOT have a CUSTOMER SERVICE link. Found an email address on my receipt and sent an email to corporate HQ to explain this issue and request a refund for the difference. The Local store manager called the next day to tell me that they would not refund me the difference for the overcharges and that I'm free to take my business elsewhere.

Their business model is HIGHLY UNETHICAL and borderline criminal, which was an expensive lesson to learn firsthand.

THEY HAVE VIOLATED MY TRUST AND HAVE LOST MY BUSINESS FOREVER.

I went to Hemet Midas because I had a…

I went to Hemet Midas because I had a tire that kept loosing air. This tire was new that I bought from Big Brand. Anyway I thought Midas would find the leak. I was wrong. I had to make an appointment which I did and they checked the tire and Anthony told me that the valve stem needed to be replaced and for that they charged me 40 dollars. They then told me my power steering needed to be flushed and I needed a new air filter. I didn’t know I had power steering and they totaled it up to 136 dollars. Well the next morning my new tire was flat. You are just a number with Midas after they steal your money they will go on to the next one and they don’t care about your return business.

Used their own ubelievably simple mistake as a chance to attempt an upsell

I agreed to a treatment to help slow the corrosion that keeps happening on my battery (I've generally been brushing it off periodically). When they finish the battery is completely dead. They then tell me that the battery was so bad it was going to die at any moment. Seriously what are the chances that this was the EXACT moment it would die??? You certainly don't expect to to drive fine to the mechanic, get a service done on the battery, and then not be able to drive away because of a dead battery. The most frustrating thing is that they refused to admit that something was clearly odd about that and just told me I should get a new battery... right now after I'd paid $30 to clean the battery. They gave me a jump because I refused. I drive 15 minutes stop and the car immediately won't start again, no response. I jump it and drive another 15 minutes, lose power steering, and pull over. I try to restart, no response. I open the hood, *simply wipe off the excess liquid they applied* all over the negative terminal, tighten things up, and the car IMMEDIATELY starts with no issue and no jump required. I turn it off, try again in 20 minutes, completely fine start; same later on in the day and the next day. The essentially refused to admit that they left too much insulating grease between the metal and used their mistake to try to force me into a new battery. I would have totally given a pass if they had just wiped it off and said, sorry sometimes that happens after the treatment rather than acting like I was crazy for thinking my car would start. They didn't even brush off the corrosion on the positive side. Of course, they also didn't turn off the maintenance required light after the oil change either.

Brentwood Midas saved Christmas!

I'm writing a review for my elderly in-laws regarding an issue they had with their car while travelling during the Christmas holidays. 5 stars go to Dustin at the Brentwood Bay BC Midas shop. My family members had been to a Kal tire for servicing and then left to drive down island towards Sidney, BC. The car started having problems and they limped onto the Brentwood Bay Ferry. Midas was open on the other side and after checking it, were told the car was unsafe to drive and that it would likely be there for several days through Christmas. But, Dustin kindly said he could get it up on the hoist in case it was something simple. It turns out it was - Kal tire likely forgot to put a screw back on and it was an easy, quick fix. They were on their way in no time and had their car for the holidays. Dustin saved Christmas! My in-laws don't have internet and so I offered to write a review for them as they were extremely grateful for their Christmas miracle, and the fast, friendly, efficient service they received. They said they would highly recommend this shop based on their experience.

Charged to replace a part that was not broken

Horrible experience at Midas Colwood Victoria store. Needed one sway bar link replaced, they told me both had to be. Not their policy or any other mechanic's to replace both because one is broken, and these were only 1 year old. They lied and said both had to be replaced but when I took them to another Midas store in another town they showed me only one was broken.
Called headquarters, called store, no one returned my call.
Deliberately lied about what needed repairs.
Go somewhere else, that has more respect for their clients and themselves.
Deliberate bad behaviour doesn't even deserve a rating of 1

Do not go to Midas, they will rip you off

I went into the Midas at 11411 west Colfax ave. in Lakewood co. to get my sunroof fixed, instead they replaced all for brake rotors, calipers, pads, power steering pump, rack and pinion all of which I didn't need. They didn't give a written estimate, nor did they get written approval which is required by law. They didn't even tell me they were doing the work, they kept giving me this song and dance that they had to take off the whole subframe (which is under the front end nowhere near the sunroof) and it was 16 hour job, I looked it up on the internet and it said it was 60-to-90-minute job to replace the sensor 30 minutes to close it with a Allen wrench or 30 seconds to reset it with the key, which I'm sure they did because when I disputed it on my credit card they sent a invoice saying I declined the sunroof repair and the switch that I bought at the auto parts store. I pulled my carfax yesterday and it said the brakes and rotors were replaced at 128000 miles and the car only had 144000 miles. Rotors do not go bad in 16000 miles. To sum it up they charged $5200 for work I didn't need. Now I'm facing bankruptcy. Thanks Midas. won't buy water from them if my penis is on fire!

I could’ve chosen a minus 10 I would…

If could’ve chosen a minus 10 I would have. I was going to the Kingsway Midas for over 10 years. The last three years I was a customer there it seemed I needed brakes every year and rotors. I called another business and they said that seems odd that should not be the case so I brought my car to them and that was two years ago. I’ve not needed anything done to my brakes nor do I need my rotors replaced when I go to see them. So I went to the Midas location to discuss the situation and the guy just lost it. His name was Edwin and he was rude and wow he swore at me!! He basically told me I was a liar and I didn’t know what I was talking about. Is it because I’m a woman? Possibly, doesn’t really matter it was beyond unprofessional. I was actually upset and almost started crying. My hands were shaking. I couldn’t believe I was being treated that way by a business that I had been loyal to for 10 years. Then I called Head Office and spoke with a gentleman who sounded all concerned. …. Well that was all fake because I’ve not heard anything. Whatever you do. Do not use Midas take a look at all the reviews on all the different platforms and you will see that I’m not the only one

Midas doesn’t honor tire roadside hazard warrenty

I brought 4 Hankook tries with the extra roadside hazard coverage at the Midas on Route 9 in Woodbridge NJ in Nov 2023 (Mike was the salesman then and he was a great sales rep) and the tires purchased were rated for 50k miles…. In Nov 2025 Midas wouldn’t honor patching one of the tires because they said the tread was too low on one tire although we put less than 30k on those in the 2 years. They were pushing for me to spend $1100 on new tires instead of simple patching. I decided to just buy new tires else were for $750…. I rather avoid dealing with a dishonest company that encourage their employees to push new tire sales when they aren’t necessary. I encourage everyone to shop around as there’s a ton of alternatives within a 3 mile radius that have better sales practices and actually honor their road side hazard warranty.
